oooh! I like these and are probably much safer for the contact lens wearer instead of using face glitter. Is a mixing medium needed to hold these in place?
ok & also is it okay to mix a drop of mixign medium w/ some pigment to make a liquidy mixture? Because I have pink bronze pigment and it is soo hard to spread I use it w/ a brush dampened w/ mixing medium but it does not spread, it gets all chunky.
hey there..k random question..im new to mac so im still having trouble with like the loose pigments and stuff so i press them.. just wondering if you would recomment pressing the glitters or not..would that ruin them?
if its just plain glitters, yes, they get ruined. for the most part they will all turn to just silver as the binder strips the color off the particles. If you are just adding a little glitter to an eyeshadow powder, then they do better.
Man, I hope you have your makeup insured, if you lost it in some way it would take a lot to replace. I know, I lost my wedding ring and it wasn't covered.
I just don't know what to use as a base to make sure the glitter stays on, as I will be wearing this out clubbing so I need to make sure it stays on all night, as I wont be able to do touch ups! Which product would you recommend? And are there any suitable non-MAC products which will work just as well?

hey sophie - I have a video on wearing glitters that might help you. If youw ant the glitters to stick and last all night - use a little eye lash glue and it will stick in there until you remove it.
you can look at MACvosmetics dot com and click on find stores and it should list a store that carries pro products. Im sure Chicago will have one, i hope.
they are not optalmologist tested, but pro said you can use them in cheeks, lips and eye area if you choose. Aparently they can only say its safe if its gone through optalmologist tests.
OMG Encore you sold me out!! I really need at least one, even tho I know I'll never wear it LOL But who knows someday I will need it!!! Which only one do you suggest??? I love wearing greens and browns and neutrals all the time
oh gosh sophianna - i love the ones I have, all of them LOL - lemme see if you love greens and browns, then definitely go for the antiqued gold. It will compliment both your greens and browns.
hey Str8Mizz - MAC is headquartered in Canada, are you sure there's no PRO there? You might want to check Ebay as well. Or call a Pro store in the US and they will ship to you in CAN.
wow thanks so much for the fast response! one more question, with the shelaq, did you mix the glitter and shelaq together or apply the shelaq onto the glitter after it was on your eye, lips, or what have you?
I applied SheLaq on the skin first and while its still kinda wet, butnot too wet. I pressed the Reflects on. It is pigment based -- with added sparkle dust. Then you can add another coat of SheLaq to seal further.
They are called Reflects Glitters and they are available at a MAC PRO Store. You can contact or go to a pro store to buy these without membership, however on the MACPRO website, you will need to be a member.
hahah yeah I was orgasmic when I was doing it -- I didnt expect them to look what they turned out to be. I thought... oh great another bottle of glitter. LOL
Hi Koren, I would like to ask your opinion on glitter and eye safety. I went to my local MAC PRO store and I was told that none of the reflects glitters are suitable for the eye area. Searching more on the internet I found that some glitters can cause abraided corneas, which can lead to blindness. Apparently, if the glitter used is metallic or plastic is not eye safe.
Is this true or just a myth? I would appreciate your help:)
hey Sandra - Reflects Glitters are not Optalmologist tested. So are a lot of MAC Pigments that have shimmers and glitters (non mattes).Technically, they are not suitable until an Opta Test has been done. The glitters on this is so fine, and Ive seen people wear coarser glitters in their eyes.
That is what I thought, it is probably just "standard" blah, blah, blah.
Also, Ophthalmologists also tend to exaggerate things. My sister underwent eye surgery a few months ago and she was told not to wear make up for 6 months, and not to wash her hair for a week. Funny, as soon as she came home (same day of the op), she washed her hair and she started wearing make up 4 weeks later. She is fine and never had any problems (and she wears glittery eyeshadows, Urban Decay especially)
I can see why you would make those noises! Those are GORGEOUS! I'm in awe, they are soooo pretty! I hate it how these are PRO :( I'm nowhere near a PRO location. I really hope to get my hands on these one day. If there's a green, I will die! I love green! Are any of these eye safe my any chance?
Koren, you are just too amazing. I wanted to know how these glitters look and now thanks to you I know! THANK YOU! I will be going to my local MAC PRO shop in the next few days.
One question: Can we press these glitters like you did with the pigments to make them compact?
I have a request. If you have time I would love to see a video of the antique gold or any of the other glitters on your eyes.
hey Sandra - I havent pressed them yet, from a reliable MAC source, apparently you can press these! I believe it when I do and prove meself! I will do a look using this soon for ya!
its sooo preettyy it will go with my indian dresses, and saris cuz the embrodery is all shiny and stuff, i have to get these its sooo exotic jus likke indian clotthing
these are so prettyful!!!! I mean probably the most amazingest collection from MAC! I am so tempted to buy them all...omg EnKore u did it again...I am off to the MAC store haha
i am so laughing right now at how amazed you are with these products..btw, did you apply this with a base?..if so, what kind?..ohh..i am so wanting a pro card..i just don't know if i am eligible for it and how..waaaah!..recommendation?..lol
you dont need a PRO card to buy pro products. I used Cream Color Base as base. It actually sticks well without a base if you use a dense brush and pack.
Wow... These are amazing. Too bad I have to wait till march to be anywhere near a pro store! Ugh! Yeah every color you showed just got better and better
I love the glitters except a while ago now I got some glitter in my eye and it hurt like mad. Have you any suggestions or could you do a video on how to use the glitters safely?
hey Lauren -- yeah I did a video on regular glitters. Just look at my video list. The reflects have uber fine sparkles so its not as harsh as the chunkier glitters. How are ya anyway?
I debating on order the reflects and now after seeing your review, my poor wallet's going to go into shock! Thanks for doing this video! I'm so loving how much the Reflects sparkle!
im not too familiar with MAC, so i have a question for u. is the glitter like cream or powder? do u have to mix with something to make it stick better? cuz i wear contact lenses, and dont really want glitter falling into my eyes.=P
its powder - they look like pigments when you buy it. Comes in the same pigment jars. When you apply it, thats when the reflects magic happens. I suggest using a primer like MAC paint, paint pot, or cream color base. It will help adhere to your lids. The glitters are really fine, so ok for contact wearers.
ooops! I guess I should read all posts before asking questions. One day I will rmeember, I just get so excited...LOL!

yes, you can make a liquid mixture of the dry powders first, then apply.

I have reflects pearl and 3D gold glitter
and don't know how to use it since it's just a loose glitter.
How should I use it so it isn't falling everywhere and so that it will stick?

apply it with a damp brush using mixing medium. the particles will stick to the skin better.
