Faith no More opened for the chilis in the 80's, that's were Patton could have started stealing Anthony's moves if he even did. I love RHCP but Anthony did make a mistake kicking Patton and co of festivals even if he started the fight.
But that doesn't mater now. They seem to be over their problems as Patton and RHCP both played together at Rock in Rio last year.
Anthony and Patton seemed to have stopped their fighting, can't everyone else making stupid comments also?
History will remember RHCP as one of the greatest bands of all time.... History will remember Mr. Bungle... well it won't. And in the big scheme of things that's all that matters. They may have been different and creative but all they achieved is a creative little trivia question of "what happened to the lead singer of faith no more?"
@lobworm3, in the grand scheme of things, music and art (for the most part) lacks any sort of artistic integrity whatsoever. It's the hidden corners of the musical universe where true music and art exist. Popularity contests are for the weak minded. By the way, Patton was in Mr. Bungle years before he joined Faith No More, so he will be remembered (by people that actually have taste) as the lead singer of Mr. Bungle.
@lobworm3 Dude, the next time you have a though you sould probably just let it go. Comparing RHCP to Mr. Bungle is like comparing getting hit in the balls to winning the Power Ball.... Bungle owns, and the people with BRAINS will remember Bungle.
@lobworm3 uh, well, first there was bungle. THEN, faith no more. from there, he's made ALL SORTS of projects. tomahawk, fantomas, peeping tom, and several more that i continue to find out about. he also does music for several movies and video games. he does wat he wants, how he wants. which is why most people couldnt keep up with him if they tried....
@lobworm3 You don't know anything about music. Red Hot Chili Peppers never did anything groundbreaking. Mr. Bungle did. They took a million different genres and played them throughout entire songs. I still see them being mentioned today even after their disbandment in 2003 and being compared to modern bands trying to mimic their style.
@lobworm3 Red Hot Sell Out Peppers were a pathetic poser band with a huge drug habit and ego's abound. George Clinton was responsible for ANY cool material they made. Now, they are a sober, flaccid top 40 McNuggets factory; JUST LIKE GAGA.
@lobworm3 History will record RHCP as 'that band that had that one good record that one time'. Once I heard the Californication album, it was clear they had decided to become a parody of themselves
red hot chili peppers way better than these chumps. better at drummer, bass, lead guitar and lead singer.Anthony kiedis lyrics make mike patton's sound like shit
Patton is one of the best artists on the planet and is always creative and exciting. He has one of the broadest vocal ranges in all of music. Kiedis is a one trick pony who has pumped out the same generic shit for his entire career. Musically he is nothing compared to patton.
I think Kiedis is kinda being a pussy, refusing to play at festivals unless Mr. Bungle pulled out. I'm mean he's in RHCP, how fucking petty is that. What a gimp.
@bobbyhurly24, if you knew anything, and I mean anything about Mr. Bungle, you wouldn't have said that. This isn't even about John or any other member of the RHCP other than that dick called Anthony Kiedis. So save it.
@Markfly if you wanna see a dick, take a look at axl rose haaa. cmon guys both are very creative. they are both very different in all aspects. why must we argue about music.
@Markfly If this isn't about the other members why did they make fun of John and Hillels heroin addiction and Hillel's death. If they had just kept this between mike and Anthony fine but they started taking shots at the other chili peppers when those guys didn't do anything to them
@Markfly but still him saying frusciante is more creative than anyone in bungle is insane... that's like saying a having a penis makes you a woman...makes no fucking sense... 1 minute of the weakest bungle song is more interesting than the whole entire RHCP catalogue.
are we comparing here???? Fruicante is not more creative than anyone in Mr. Bungle. Fruiscante is a great player as is everyone in Bungle. That's just a stupid statement. They are all good and I'll even say great musicians. This issue didn't stem from an wrguement over who is more creative ... it's largely in part due to Keidis' ego. Period.
Compressing several crappy songs into one, excessive instrumentation designed to say nothing more than "look how talented I am" and a lead singer impersonating other singers badly. Yeah that is totally beyond anything the Chili Peppers are capable of.
Anthony Keidis didn't want to play a show with a band that he took a lot of his rapping influence from. I mean you hear grovvey bass lines, a drummer playing in the pocket, and a white boy rapping like Patton did in Mr. Bungle. Hence the reason why they cancelled the shows with Bungle. Bungle's not sour because they were rejected by a band they like. They are sour because they were rejected by a band that isn't as talented.
@3rdluckcharm Anythony kiedis didn't get shit from mr. bungle. Mr. bungle started the shit and then made it worse by mocking anthony's bandmates and hillels death
I can't understand why this guy would say that Anthony Kiedis "gets off his ass every 6 years to make a less creative record"
The Chili Peppers are one of, if not the most creative band in the world, they started something new and no one to this day has ever come close to sounding like them.
Also, 6 years is an exaggeration. But the reason they have large gaps between albums is because of their massive tours that they go on, to please the millions of fans they have. Then they need a break after

@gussxp yes because you can tell when listening to Bungle that the rock and roll hall of fame is something that they were shooting for and that's also why they decided to play in jazz bands after Bungle.
if you knew anything at all youd know that they almost broke up because they were getting "TOO FAMOUS" and winning all these awards, they liked playing small gigs and just jammimg, why do you think frusciante left, its not their fault that their fuckin awesome....
Kedis is a self righteous prick and RHCP should just call it quits. I know it has been said, but the only person with any talent in that band is flea.
mr bungle sucks dick.. theres a reason rhcp is one of the biggest bands in the world and mr bungle and or faith no more is not. and mike patton is a pussy, wah they runied my life wahh
Most of these derogatory comments from either "side" seem to be coming from people who weren't even there at the time these bands were at their prime.
I wasn't around at the time of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, but there's always a rivalry between those two as well. I actually think the rivalry evolves between the fans, and not the bands themselves.
Seriously, what band thinks that people are going to listen them exclusively?
Why can't we all just get along? I grew up with Faith No More and Red Hot Chili Peppers and loved them both equally. Both bands started to fade around the same time. I'll give credit to Mike for moving on and evolving. Unfortunately Anthony didn't, but I think he wanted to recreate something from the past... which still hasn't happened. He and Perry Farrell are on the same road I believe. Perhaps they should join together, I mean Dave has been in both bands right?
Lets all concur that they are all good musicians! Mr. Bungle was alot more experimental and creative, and if you listen to there old splattercore garage style morph into an ongoing entity, you'll realize how amazing Mr BUngle is and how butt hurt Anthony may be!
@soccerbabe2318, yes, this is true, but, I think RHCP aren't educated enough about Mr. Bungle, where Mr. Bungle fans know all too well about RHCP. And the only one in RHCP that has absolutely no talent is Anthony. Chad and Flea are great players...that need to play in another band. ;)
@Markfly Wrooong!!! being a singer requires talent, if you are wise enough to admire lyrics then u can realise that he also is a great songwritter and he knows very well how to interpretate his lyrics, just like Mike Patton, otherwise he wouldn't be HIS fan for years!
I'm pretty sure this goes all the wat back to when Mike Patton became front man of FNM. As soon as they started to receive mainstream success. Anthony Kiedis instantly started to publicly claim that Patton's whole live act had been copied from Kiedis' style. Whether it's true or not doesn't really matter IMO. If Kiedis feels the need to actively try and destroy Patton's career, he clearly feels threatened by him, and for good reason I'd say.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Markfly kiedis can spend his money on whatever the fuck he wants to! HE EARNED IT! he wrote every lyric to every fucking song other than higher ground! hes not some rockstar who pays people to write his shit he does it himself for nearly 30 years now he paid his dues and deserves every penny he has! hes 49 and is still kicking ass and taking names while being a single father!!! ...and what am i hearing from FNM? oh thats right CRICKETS! p.s. drug addiction is no joke at least he mans up to it!!
@cali243, do your homework, study up on what exactly Mike Patton has achieved during, and after Faith No More, and you wouldn't be running your mouth off like you just did. You silly, silly-silly.
@cali243 You make it sound like they've only ever covered that one song. So many of the tracks they released, especially in their older stuff, are covers - such as Subterratean Homesick Blues and Love Rollarcoaster. As much as I love the Chilis I honestly think that anyone who is completely obsessed with sex and can rhyme a few words can write what Kiedis did. But that's vocalists right? You write a few rhyming words and you get 50% of the money. Madness.
@cali243 Fact of the matter is Kiedis has worked for his money, there's no denying it. Fair play to him. But on the same token, Patton has constantly persued other styles of music when in FNM, Bungle, Fantomas and countless other groups. Kiedis was very lucky in the fact that he was a part of a hard working mainstream band. However he struck out at Patton and Mr Bungle for the best part of 15 years, refusing to let them play festivals if RHCP were and forcing Warner to hold back on .....
@cali243 the release of California because it sounded too much like Californication. RHCP outsold Bungle in the millions, due to their mainstream success. Kiedis was personally threatened by Patton as he has far more talent then him. So like Kiedis should of, put your fucking dummie back in your mouth and swivel. Even Frusciante hates Kiedis. And drug addiction isn't a joke, it's just good musicians take enough to die from because it a problem, Kiedis just needs another cock to suck xxx
@cali243 You're such a fucking loser douche. RHCP absolutely suck. Did you find it difficult spitting out all those moronic comments about Mike Patton and Faith no more with Anthonys dick in your mouth? If you had half a brain you would realise that record sales don't always mean a band is good. I suppose you listen to the Spice Girls too then Do you Douche? Get a clue loser, you and your boyfriend Anthony can bow down to the King Mike Patton
@cali243 Pretending to shoot heroin on stage is not funny. Not because it makes fun of drug addiction, but because it wasn't very clever. If you're going to joke about a serious subject, show some creativity! Metallica did the same thing when Alice In Chains cancelled on them due to Layne's struggles. It's on YT.
fuck that kiedis is king!!!!! and "get off his ass every six years" really thats why the RHCP were none stop from 1999 till 2007 with pretty much every single going to number one not to mention RHCP being pretty much non stop since 83 even with changing members and drug addictions they have come through that and are still on top!!
it's ridiculous for these two bands to even be compared. Even Mr. Bungle's debut was completely different from RHCP's material. RHCP doesn't do ska. I don't know why Kiedis ever felt threatened by Mike Patton.
There's a feud here? Maybe I didn't notice because I started tuning RHCP the first time I heard them....but not Bungle. Which is saying a lot, given my violent lifelong hatred of clowns--but not of talented musicians.
@LexeconKiddo, it dates back to the late 80's , when both bands broke huge around the same time. I think "The Real Thing" broke a few months ahead of "Mother's Milk". Anthony saw the video for "Epic" and thought that Mike was trying to steal his dance moves and rapping style. Obviously, that was not true. But, Anthony still held this insecurity with him into the late 90's, and kicked Bungle off a bunch of festivals, giving no reason for it. Other than he's a supreme asshole.
@murderousbastard83 - If anybody’s bank account deserves to be robbed, it would be Anthony’s. Lord knows he already wasted enough of it on hard drugs. He should start a band called The Douchebags and get Lars Ulrich to play drums. Add Chad Kroeger from Nickelback on guitar and then you’d have something! ;)
Folks should also keep in mind that not only did they fuck over Bungle, they also fucked over TISM (If you dont know who tism are , youtube their song "wanker". Its not great music but they are funny as fuck) by refusing to play on the same bill as them at the Big Day Out festival, because apparnetly flea was sooky about the "(He'll never be an) Old man river" song about river phoenix's OD (which is hilarious). Australians will probably never forgive the RHCP for that, TISM where national heros
@MrShayneOneill...interesting. Did not know that. Just one more reason to dislike them. Like I needed one! LOL That's good to know. By the way, RHCP just put out a new album. I have a question. WHY? ;)
@Markfly Good question. They should have stopped at freaky styley whilst they still had credibility. Well mothers milk wasn't so bad I guess, but yeah, this was a star that peaked 2 decades ago, and its been downhill ever since. Notice Mike patton was never content to rest on his laurels he earned with faith no more. Compare and contrast. I'm not a fan of everything mike did, but I could never deny the mans relentlessly innovative.
@MrShayneOneill, they were good in the 1980's, but that's just it. They've done nothing remotely interesting since "Mother's Milk". Just the same old crap served on a "new" looking platter. And yes, nobody is perfect - not even the mighty Patton, but his track record speaks volumes. Comparing Patton with Kiedis is like comparing a gourmet meal with something half-price at McDonalds. Maybe I've said that in the past, but it's worth saying again! haha
@MrShayneOneill why would they wanna preform with guys who make fun of OD-ing. The shit is not funny when somebody close to u has done it. Australia apparently loves them enough to have them back every time they have a tour. while Mike Patton is......
Fuck the red hot chili peppers, they ruined Mr Bungle, they stole their album title and refused to perform with them. Anthony Keidis is a little bitch with no dick.
Their problems with Anthony don't justify making fun of his and John's struggle with drug addiction or mocking their dead friend. That alone (as if their " the world is made of idiots who can't appreciate our creative genius except for the 8 people who like us" attitude wasn't enough) makes it completely impossible for me to have a single shred of respect for these assholes.
@Iggy87...who started it? It certainly wasn't Mr. Bungle. And believe me, they have more than 8 fans. Popularity contests? You can have them. Besides, anybody that does Heroin knows what they’re getting themselves into.
@uiruu, yes, i agree completely. the fact that the chili peppers haven't done anything remotely interesting musically since 1992 is irrelevant (only my opinion) but yeah, there's no excuse for the guy's insecurities towards mike patton, because that’s clearly what it is.
@Markfly I agree. I have no problem with the Chili Peppers... but I don't like their music. Flea is a good bassist, sure, but I'd prefer Trevor Dunn any day. ANthony Kiedis is almost like Dave Mustaine: a whiny bitch.
@k3n0bl...fuck being "entertaining". You should do what you feel. And I feel that Anthony is a rock star asshole that needs a good old fashioned ass kicking.
@rockypc24, it's not Trevor, but the interview is with Trevor and a touring musician they had with them named Rodo - at least that's what it sounds like he introduces himself as, at the beginning of the interview. I looked him up on Wikipedia but couldn't find him in the Mr. Bungle write-up.
I don't know exactly what had happened but the fact that they insulted the memory of Hillel Slovak is unforgiven....It doesn't matter if they were better which I don't believe but what they did was completely offensive..........

Madness.
IchHasseDasSausage 4 months ago
@cali243 Fact of the matter is Kiedis has worked for his money, there's no denying it. Fair play to him. But on the same token, Patton has constantly persued other styles of music when in FNM, Bungle, Fantomas and countless other groups. Kiedis was very lucky in the fact that he was a part of a hard working mainstream band. However he struck out at Patton and Mr Bungle for the best part of 15 years, refusing to let them play festivals if RHCP were and forcing Warner to hold back on .....
TheDrDave89 4 months ago
@cali243 the release of California because it sounded too much like Californication. RHCP outsold Bungle in the millions, due to their mainstream success. Kiedis was personally threatened by Patton as he has far more talent then him. So like Kiedis should of, put your fucking dummie back in your mouth and swivel. Even Frusciante hates Kiedis. And drug addiction isn't a joke, it's just good musicians take enough to die from because it a problem, Kiedis just needs another cock to suck xxx
TheDrDave89 4 months ago
@TheDrDave89 But that's just my opinion
TheDrDave89 4 months ago

It's on YT.

fuck that kiedis is king!!!!! and "get off his ass every six years" really thats why the RHCP were none stop from 1999 till 2007 with pretty much every single going to number one not to mention RHCP being pretty much non stop since 83 even with changing members and drug addictions they have come through that and are still on top!!
cali243 5 months ago
it's ridiculous for these two bands to even be compared. Even Mr. Bungle's debut was completely different from RHCP's material. RHCP doesn't do ska. I don't know why Kiedis ever felt threatened by Mike Patton.
PittFan888 5 months ago
Go to sleep Kiedis, you re so lame ... man I agree with all the comments here ... Patton eats 10 Kiedis for breakfast every day !
prossiver 5 months ago 3
There's a feud here? Maybe I didn't notice because I started tuning RHCP the first time I heard them....but not Bungle. Which is saying a lot, given my violent lifelong hatred of clowns--but not of talented musicians.
LexeconKiddo 5 months ago
@LexeconKiddo, it dates back to the late 80's , when both bands broke huge around the same time. I think "The Real Thing" broke a few months ahead of "Mother's Milk". Anthony saw the video for "Epic" and thought that Mike was trying to steal his dance moves and rapping style. Obviously, that was not true. But, Anthony still held this insecurity with him into the late 90's, and kicked Bungle off a bunch of festivals, giving no reason for it. Other than he's a supreme asshole.

Kiedis has about as much talent as the stench in the fart i just made. In fact he sings like it too.
murderousbastard83 5 months ago 6
@murderousbastard83 - If anybody’s bank account deserves to be robbed, it would be Anthony’s. Lord knows he already wasted enough of it on hard drugs. He should start a band called The Douchebags and get Lars Ulrich to play drums. Add Chad Kroeger from Nickelback on guitar and then you’d have something! ;)

@Markfly Lol! True Story.
murderousbastard83 5 months ago 2
Folks should also keep in mind that not only did they fuck over Bungle, they also fucked over TISM (If you dont know who tism are , youtube their song "wanker". Its not great music but they are funny as fuck) by refusing to play on the same bill as them at the Big Day Out festival, because apparnetly flea was sooky about the "(He'll never be an) Old man river" song about river phoenix's OD (which is hilarious). Australians will probably never forgive the RHCP for that, TISM where national heros
MrShayneOneill 5 months ago 3
@MrShayneOneill...interesting. Did not know that. Just one more reason to dislike them. Like I needed one! LOL That's good to know. By the way, RHCP just put out a new album. I have a question. WHY? ;)
Markfly 5 months ago 6
@Markfly Good question. They should have stopped at freaky styley whilst they still had credibility. Well mothers milk wasn't so bad I guess, but yeah, this was a star that peaked 2 decades ago, and its been downhill ever since. Notice Mike patton was never content to rest on his laurels he earned with faith no more. Compare and contrast. I'm not a fan of everything mike did, but I could never deny the mans relentlessly innovative.
MrShayneOneill 5 months ago 4
@MrShayneOneill, they were good in the 1980's, but that's just it. They've done nothing remotely interesting since "Mother's Milk". Just the same old crap served on a "new" looking platter. And yes, nobody is perfect - not even the mighty Patton, but his track record speaks volumes. Comparing Patton with Kiedis is like comparing a gourmet meal with something half-price at McDonalds. Maybe I've said that in the past, but it's worth saying again! haha
Markfly 5 months ago 4
@MrShayneOneill why would they wanna preform with guys who make fun of OD-ing. The shit is not funny when somebody close to u has done it. Australia apparently loves them enough to have them back every time they have a tour. while Mike Patton is......

mr bungle, the most creative band, the most original band, the most musical band, and they invented his own style

Fuck the red hot chili peppers, they ruined Mr Bungle, they stole their album title and refused to perform with them. Anthony Keidis is a little bitch with no dick.
PurpleMonster1234 9 months ago 8
@PurpleMonster1234, amen to that.
Markfly 9 months ago 3
Their problems with Anthony don't justify making fun of his and John's struggle with drug addiction or mocking their dead friend. That alone (as if their " the world is made of idiots who can't appreciate our creative genius except for the 8 people who like us" attitude wasn't enough) makes it completely impossible for me to have a single shred of respect for these assholes.
Iggy87 9 months ago
@Iggy87...who started it? It certainly wasn't Mr. Bungle. And believe me, they have more than 8 fans. Popularity contests? You can have them. Besides, anybody that does Heroin knows what they’re getting themselves into.

I have no problem with the Chili Peppers. It's Anthony Kiedis I have a problem with.
uiruu 10 months ago 2
@uiruu, yes, i agree completely. the fact that the chili peppers haven't done anything remotely interesting musically since 1992 is irrelevant (only my opinion) but yeah, there's no excuse for the guy's insecurities towards mike patton, because that’s clearly what it is.
Markfly 10 months ago
@Markfly I agree. I have no problem with the Chili Peppers... but I don't like their music. Flea is a good bassist, sure, but I'd prefer Trevor Dunn any day. ANthony Kiedis is almost like Dave Mustaine: a whiny bitch.
uiruu 10 months ago
being creative doesn't mean your music is going to be good or entertaining... creativity is about 1/10th of the equation

rockypc24 1 year ago
@rockypc24, it's not Trevor, but the interview is with Trevor and a touring musician they had with them named Rodo - at least that's what it sounds like he introduces himself as, at the beginning of the interview. I looked him up on Wikipedia but couldn't find him in the Mr. Bungle write-up.
