I drive truck and in my opinion the driver withe the gun had no business to pass knowing that his truck has no balls(because of the govonor). I would call him a road bullie.
This was in polish. He honked to let him pass, he was ignored twice deliberatly. So he pulled out a gun (replica?) as a intimidating tool that he means business. There is a saying be courtieous and polite. Sometimes other measures have to be taken to convince others such the way he did. What he said in the end was "Finally, that son of a bitch will let me in." Think, there are two lanes, two trucks. Congestion behind them. Not safe.
if you have a speed governor that is the same speed as the guy in front of you, and you can't pass him, how fast do you think you will go once you pass him. Makes no sense to me. If your truck's speed governor was set higher than you wouldn't have a problem passing up a truck with a governor set lower.
People pass other drivers up and then position themselves in front of you going at the same speed. Drivers, Idiots, all of us.

My dad is a truck diver, he has to deal with that bs governor every day in the truck. Countless times he's been screwed on hills because he can't get momentum. I tell you what though, the one thing the governor can't control, is coasting down a steep hill with the clutch in. :D

He most likely was being a big shot up until that moment, then he crawled into his shell and slowed down to allow the driver of the other truck to pass, like he should have done in the first place. Guns are Great!
Had a hotshot in a Pontiac cut me off and slam on his brakes in Indiana a month and a half ago. Slowed waaaay down whilst flailing his arms about at me. My passenger had flipped him off so he was gonna take all of us on. I showed him my handgun and that was the end of it. ...Pontiac drivers *shakes head*
Thing is the other truck wouldnt allow him to pass ans for any oncoming that could be fatal, the other trucker was being a twat and was put in his place
@PlebScrubber We know this but that was not the case, there is also a such thing as courtesy when driving where the slower vehicle should allow the faster vehicle the overtake even if they come to a down hill stretch, its not law but courtesy. The guy with the gun probably saved the life of an oncoming driver
@PlebScrubber but you see, in all EU countries i think, trucks are limited to somthing like 50mph or 60, not really sure... anyway, if the guy behind is on criusecontroll and have gotten 'halfway past' another truck and the other guy speeds up so you cant pass... well... youre an ass, besides, in norway where im from, you HAVE to let him past by law, so you dont contribute to a potentialy deadly situation
@Lindholmer5k Why does Norway, and many Scandinavian countries it seems, have such sensible laws and seem less childish than the UK? Maybe I know the UK too well, and I'd find the same in the other countries if I looked hard enough, BUT, I still think there's a difference. How does one describe that difference, though? Cultural?

@2wheelsteve when overtaking, the vehicle who is overtaking must allow space to get past.
Its not the other trucks job to slow down and make the overtake happen easier.
He need not take any action at all.
If a car comes, the overtaking truck must drop back
