That's unbelievable! I had no idea Sam Raimi was only nineteen when he directed The Evil Dead!
I think stories like this should be made more public, to show young kids that there's still the possibility in this world to build your own carreer and create something memorable out of nothing.
(I am not a big fan of any of the other movies Sam Raimi made, but still, he made history with that one).
Geez...they are both so young. Hard to believe Bruce and Sam have been around so long now. Sam is doing Spiderman movies now and Bruce is still the MAN.
Hey Bruce is also in the Spiderman films. lol. But Drag Me to Hell kinda of comes back to this. The only thing missing in that film is BRUCE CAMPBELL! But he did make My name is Bruce!
I love Sam Rami, I love Bruce Campbell, I love the 3 Stooges. And this is the first time I've seen clips of their old Super 8 stuff. Part of me wishes Sam would go back to his slapstick roots for one film and bring Bruce in to star.
i dont know what i was thinking when i wrote that. i love the second one, it was a bit slow the first 10 minutes but after that it was great. i dont even remember writing that
I wish some of their old movies were available; I watched them while I was a student at Michigan State University in the late 1970s and they were an absolute riot.
I'm thinking one that I saw was called "Happy Valley Kid." Mostly filmed on MSU campus, but some parts filmed in my hometown (FX guy was from my home town); I even saw my folk's car--an old Caddie Sedan DeVille circa 1976--in the movie. Later, I was at the Michigan premiere of ED II and at the reception sat and talked with Sam, Ted, Bruce, and Rob. Wild, huh? Anyway, I have fond memories of those student films that were shown on campus in those days (late 70s) for pretty cheap admission.
Yes, he was 19. But fact is, you had such an easy shot at making a movie, with near to no money & getting it released in those days. Never never never now.
Yeah but only a 19 year old could make that sort of shit! And I mean that as a mark of respect: most 19 year olds are not motivated enough etc...sorry, I did my art honours degree dissertation The Evil Dead and I crammed to much analysis in.
Jesus Chwist how I hate speech impediments... Learn to talk, goddamnit! BlueMeanieinPepperla, I think you're going to see more movies from the director of Spiderman 1 & 2 :DD
