Thanks man, great help.  Just one reminder:

-After you've done this, make sure you change the settings back to "Optimize for quick removal" in the Device Manager when you're finished. Otherwise you will lose data if the drive is removed from the computer without using the "safely remove hardware" option.

The only downfall is that this will read from the flash drive alot and cause it to wear out rather quick. Keep this in mind!

after you format your flash drive, why Used space is bigger than before. your got Use space 4.00 KB, but when you format it Use space is 12.0 MB. it is bigger than before.

TIPS if its write protected you should disable the card since it an old type of USB go to manager.exe or something i think in your case you haVe to use the DOS.

You choose the option ntfs and then click start and remember to restart your computer with the drive still attached!!! lol

That's completely normal. The file system NTFS is a newer system than FAT32 and takes a little more space.

Advantages:

With NTFS, you can save more files on the flash drive (from 5 to 40% of disk space). You can create permissions to access files and/or folders on the flash drive. You get all other security file management options you have on Windows. Disadvantages: First of all, the speed of saving on the flash drive decreases (but the speed of reading data from the drive is the same), and you have to be more careful to ALWAYS remove the USB flash drive safely.

the advantage? you can store bigger files on you usb :) let's say if u have a 8GB usb with fat32, it can only take files up to 4Gbs that is the limit, but if u get NTFS u can get more + NTFS is safer and faster, so it's only good
