well, I cried a little watching this, because he and Tina go wayyyyyyy back. Al knew her when she was married to Ike...and he spent a lot of time hanging out with them. And Al knew that she was being abused and was one of the first men in her life to tell her that she needed to leave Ike...he did an interview years ago, where he said that he called Tina when she was making her comeback..and he told her that he badly wanted her to sing this song. He knew she would make it a hit for herself.

To say his voice has gone south is a judgment made by someone that has not witnessed much passing of time. A lot of recognizable qualities are still inflected by his style. Very few singers have been able to keep their voices in a hermetically sealed vault for use only onstage/in studio. I applaud their vocal character and appreciate that day to day life brings on the changes one must go through, and still perform. Thank you Al!!

I always thought that Tina And Al Green should of did a Duet of this song. His version is asking the question and Tina's Version is demanding that they stay together. Tina seems so touhed because they were both from Tennessee and this is the song that began her success as a solo artist in 1983. Go ahead Al sing the song to the Queen Ms. Tina Turner who is Simply The Best, and Aretha Franklin knows it.
