What about the included pen and tablet software included with windows Vista??.... is it good to take notes too (handwriting recognition) in word ? Is the "virtual" keyboard usable in tablet mode to write some text ( in IE for example ) ? Thanks!

Its windowsa Vista Dreamscene and its only on Ultimate unless you can fund some where to download it for your editon of Vista.

Not sure if I understand. The application I was using was Microsoft OneNote, truly a mission critical app for a tablet.

Yes, can watch movies in tablet mode, but not all content will work in portrait mode but anything will work in landscape mode just like it would as standard laoptop.

Ok, that's just the scratch out gesture, just like scratching something out on real paper only that it actually removes what has been scratched out. Is that what you wanted to know?

This is the DreamScene add on that comes with Windows Vista Ultimate extras using an add on to it called Deskscapes from a company called Stardock.

Unfortunately this isn't supported under Windows 7 officially though I do believe that Stardock is woking on a package that will add it.

Well, this would be like using a regular mouse drawing on photoshop I guess. I have a pressure sensitive tablet and I find it annoying, because I'd rather change the shades and width of my paintbrush myself rather then trying to mess with the pressure thing.

The tx2z is the later model. I believe that the tx2500z has been discountined by HP. At least its no longer on their web site for sale.

I work for HP and they have discontinued the 2500Z so it is no longer available

Did you decide which one to get? The only reason I can't decide which one to get is because it doesn't work well with photoshop.

But I don't understand pressure sensitivity - I never used a tablet before.

i really want to buy this but theres one thing that is really putting me off is the NOISY FAN u can hear it its sooooo loud is there anyway to stop that like a cooling fan or something like that

I'm not sure an external cooling fan will help the noise problem, it might actually add to it. I think the only way to reduce the noise is to not use it at the Maxed out capacity that he is using it, but at a more consumer level, such as decreased brightness, decreased active standby (how long it goes without a screen saver coming on, background apps, basically anything that would stress the CPU)

Sorry, no eraser on this pen. It's kind of a drag especially on a new device but in real life its not that big of deal to me.

What I meant was is there a button on the pen for right click or do you have to do some sort of tap and hold deal.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes there is a right click button on the pen. Personally I don't like those buttons because I always seen to hit them accidentally while writing. This is my forth tablet and they all had this button on the pen. I've gotten trained to not hit the button much anymore but I could live without it. I always tap and hold for right clicking. But that's me.

Oh ok thanks I'm not that good of an artist myself but this pc is no problem for me I never used photoshop I always wanted to have it to make my drawings more graphic but thats ok. The touchscreen option is best for me in so many ways since I own a wireless mouse it uses up so many batteries so if i just want to surf the web or go through my favs in youtube i just poke the video with my finger or the pen

Sorry, Photoshop is not included. Plus I must add that if you are a serious Photoshop person this may not be the tablet for you. I don't think pressure sensitivity in Photoshop is supported with the N-Trig digitizer, so that might be a problem for you.

I'm not an artist so it's no a problem for me.
