i have an lgshine that i got from ebay for like 16 buks. i amhaving problems with the "joystick" button and i can't scroll left right up or down. i can only use it as an "ok" button. is this button suppose to be loose because mines has a loose joystick button....?
The LG shine is good for simple things. But it is near indestructible, I've dropped mine in a sink filled with water and soapy mop water... After each of these times, I sprayed it with Lysol and it's absolutely perfect. I can't break it no matter what I do.
This phone is BIG and CLUNKY and HEAVY. Sure, maybe its a good phone if your an old man that just needs it to call, but it is a horrible phone. After a while, opening up the shine will feel crusty and it gets harder to get up. Also very quiet and not a good texting phone.

This phone held up really well for me lol. I've had it since June 2008 and it's been dropped practically everyday for the past year (when I hit my very clumsy teen stage). It doesn't scratch easy (well for me it didn't--it now has a few.) The only bad thing is that my bluetooth stopped working, it now constantly drops calls, and after sending a message, it occasionally brings up the exact message I just sent but in the edit form of it (which is..strange..). Loved it--can't wait for a new phone.
When I had this phone, I loved it, it was very sturdy, I found nothing wrong with it. and the flash was amazing. I rate this phone a 4/5. I now have the LG VU and I am obsessed. XD

that sucks that you have to hold it sideways. look up this phone it may sound simple to you but its awesome. the camera is not on the back but hidden inside so it wont get scratched unlike the shine. and you dont have to hold it sideways which is AWESOME! unlike the shine (cough)

Does anyone else who has this phone feel like it has trouble picking up signal? I had much better coverage when I had my RAZR from Cingular. My dad has a Nokia phone and he has service in places that I don't. It's really irritating.
If you live in an area where coverage isn't the greatest, do not get this phone.
no...it used to for my dad tho when it was his phone...thats just because if you push the center button(like when you send a text), then shut it really fast it does that...or thats what he told me, but i have had it for like 8 months and it hasnt done that to me at all...it does get scratched on the back really easily though, and the side buttons are wearing down a lot
oh that explains it, it is almost always after i send a text. and yeah mine looks like it's been through hell too.
also for people, there is only one speaker on the whole phone. the phone rings out of the speaker where you listen during a call, so the ring volume isn't loud at all, but i keep mine on vibrate all the time so this doesn't bother me.
Mine is CONSTANTLY on vibrate...it is really durable though if you just want a phone that keeps working no matter what...it can get completely submerged in water, dry out and still work fine, and the buttons dont break, and mine has been drop kicked across a parking lot in winter through snow and sludge(thanks to my brother), and dropped numerous times on a basketball court(after the game while crossing), sat on, dropped, and everything! and it STILL WORKS!
the battery lasts pretty good too though if you text a lot i recomend charging it when the battery has no bars(it will still last like at least an hour on no bars...the longest i got with no battery bars was 5 hours, cuz it just sat...)
overall, great phone...i would like a phone with a full keyboard though, but this has T9, and stuff, so its good, just found the music player today haha...good though. the center thing is easy to use too, once you get the hang of it, overall good phone!

Attention PPL Do not get this phone!1st off my bluetooth stopped working.I didnt even damage the phone or anything, it just stopped working,and At&T wouldnt fix the bluetooth or give me a replacement,2nd the battery life is short after a while the phone went dead and i had to buy a pay as you go because it wouldn't even come on. was this before the front camera and video calling? you'd think they'd go over that... but ya i've had this phone for about a year and very satisfied with it. the only problem is you cant get personalized ring tones with your own music. you have to purchase it in order to make it your ring tone. the toggle joystick you get used to and it's actually quite functional. i think they did some software updates on the phone as well. when you press the camera button you don't have to press take picture.
That would be an awesome phone to get but I cant because its for AT@T. AT@T works good everywhere in the world except Tabor City North Carolina where I live.
I don't think auto delete feature is supported. I think you can make it delete text messages after a certain amount of time but I don't know how on the LG Shine CU720 model.
well its a great phone the bad things are that it scratches like really easily and fast and if its a bright,sunny day you can barely see the screen. and this phone gets boring the longer you have it. but overall its a good phone

Mine is CONSTANTLY on vibrate...it is really durable though if you just want a phone that keeps working no matter what...it can get completely submerged in water, dry out and still work fine, and the buttons dont break, and mine has been drop kicked across a parking lot in winter through snow and sludge(thanks to my brother), and dropped numerous times on a basketball court(after the game while crossing), sat on, dropped, and everything! and it STILL WORKS!
and theres more hold on!

the battery lasts pretty good too though if you text a lot i recomend charging it when the battery has no bars(it will still last like at least an hour on no bars...the longest i got with no battery bars was 5 hours, cuz it just sat...)
overall, great phone...i would like a phone with a full keyboard though, but this has T9, and stuff, so its good, just found the music player today haha...good though. the center thing is easy to use too, once you get the hang of it, overall good phone!

my mom has this phone and i can honestly say that it is really good. she dropped it in a bucket of water and it didn't work for like 5 mins and than it came back to life. nothing was wrong with it after. that happened like 3 months ago, and to this day, the phone is still in perfect shape and working.

I used to have this phone and it was an all around good phone. My only problem was that It did scratch pretty easily... But the joy stick was really easy to us. I loved that it had a mirror.

Attention PPL Do not get this phone!1st off my bluetooth stopped working.I didnt even damage the phone or anything, it just stopped working,and At&T wouldnt fix the bluetooth or give me a replacement,2nd the battery life is short after a while the phone went dead and i had to buy a pay as you go because it wouldn't even come on. My time with AT&T is over, they will never have to worry about me. I just thought that they should have handled the situations better since i was a loyal customer.Star 0

was this before the front camera and video calling? you'd think they'd go over that... but ya i've had this phone for about a year and very satisfied with it. the only problem is you cant get personalized ring tones with your own music. you have to purchase it in order to make it your ring tone. the toggle joystick you get used to and it's actually quite functional. i think they did some software updates on the phone as well. when you press the camera button you don't have to press take picture.

I don't think auto delete feature is supported. I think you can make it delete text messages after a certain amount of time but I don't know how on the LG Shine CU720 model.
