  • Yea u tell them. Get a cb

  • u___u ando buscando este mismo video, pero en español latino X_X y no lo encuentro X_X

  • Yes, indeed they are. Homer uses the "Simpsons" executive producers ex-call.

"WA3QIZ was the callsign of executive producer David Mirkin. That call expired in 1998."

  • hehe neat how that is a legit callsign

  • Classic!

  • Love it.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • WA3QIZ comes back to

    SAVANT DX GROUP

    1741 COUNTY LINE LANE

    RUCKERSVILLE, VA 22968

  • After seeing this i have a lot more respect for him.

    73's

  • Those transmissions are false or deceptive! Up to $5000 fine, one year in jail or both!

  • hey that's a good laugh I'm on ham radio my self good to see they also have hams in Simpson town springfield that's funny I knew that skinner is into hamradio because you have to be a little different and skinner certainly is ......

  • on ham radio, your not supposed to use "zed", for Z according the standard NATO phonetic alphabet, you use "Zulu"

  • @SOIKKELI99 Wow. Call the phonetic alphabet police. The #1 method of saying the letters QRZ is "Q-R-Zed." You'll also hear able, baker, charlie. Personally I try to use the International/NATO alphabet, but there are times you need to "think outside the box" to get someone's attention or break through a pile-up. No harm done!

  • What is seasons name?

  • So Seymour's mother is a lid? ;-)

  • KJ4QAX is here!!!

  • so...whats the difference between ham radios and phones...

  • @0hBr0therProductions phones won't be as useful as ham radio when the zombies come... that's even if landlines are still operational and that's a big 'if'.

  • FUNNY STUFF - REMINDS ME OF OLD CB DAYS.

    K9UP

  • Whoa! I'm thinking Skinner's mother needs a little Rettysnitch treatment...

  • "Zed", eh?

I thought this was in the States.

  • @denelson83 I am still pondering why people say "zed" instead of "zulu" maybe some people didn't get the memo when the ITU changed the phonetics.

  • @DonelsonC - Zulu is the phonetic for Z, but I know Canadians, and probably others, say Zed instead of saying Z.

  • @DonelsonC "Zed" is how the letter Z is pronounced in the UK instead of "Zee" and i'm guessing it just carried over somehow.

  • i haven't watched the simpsons in years, but i remember the epsiode. i can't remember why they have a ham radio in the bar.

  • That is a real call, I looked it up on QRZ, it belongs to a DXing group!

  • lol i honestly thought this was hillariouse!... but i no loser....

  • Hilarious!

    K5FAL

  • Reminds me of WA4D, the "Dawg", that used to get on 40 meters and call other hams losers back in the early 90's

  • how do you guys come up with these call signs? he was wa3qiz?

  • @Drafter3 Call signs are assigned by the fcc if I'm not mistaken. You need to get a license to broadcast and with the license comes the call sign.

  • WA3QIZ

    SAVANT DX GROUP

    1741 COUNTY LINE LANE

    RUCKERSVILLE, VA 22968

    USA

I think this might have something to do with it.

  • Funny--AE7HF

  • They have made a few of these jokes over the years, and picked on short wave radio too...

  • Hilarious

  • Very funny. Ham radios, we are everywhere.

    73s

  • Wasn't Matt Groening creator of the Simpsons a former ham ?

  • ...and WA3QIZ is the Savant DX group in Ruckersville VA

  • oh man...this rocks. lmao

  • from the sound, antenna, and likely distance between Moe's and Skinner's house i'm guessing they're on 2m sideband? lol love the Simpsons and ham radio

    73, KC9ICE

  • I would love to be a ham operator, I just dont understand why you have to understand how to build a radio to simply talk on one (when you can obviously buy already assembled)? But either way, I love the Simpsons, and talking on a CB, eventhough 98% of the time it' all a bunch of adults acting like children. But its handy for road conditions!!! :-)

  • It is easy. You get all the questions and answers on the test before you take it now. No building anything or morse code. Alot different than when I got my license.

  • I knew that Morse Code code was no longer on the Technicians tecst, but I didn't know they give you the answers before the test! I still have a hard time with all the diode, capacitor, amps, volts, and the conversion from one to another. But thank you Futureelectric for the encouragement! I will look in to it closer!

  • When is the last time you looked @ the Tech class manual? It's not that hard!

  • @K1JWM

Very True Indeed. Kids as young as 10 are passing the exam on a daily basis !

Pretty much anywhere in the US, your within an hours drive (usually closer) to a Volunteer Examiner. It really doesnt take too much time.

  • Ok on that. When I got my ticket 11 years ago. It was hard. Best regards.

  • FCC enforcement Actions

    Simpson

It has come to our attention of misuse of HF frequencies in the 20 meter band has been recorded and that this operation cease immediatley. Failure to do so will result in monetary forfeiture or revocation in license lol i think there have been a few animated hates on HAM radio

  • A lot of ham's are losers but not all.

  • Is one of the Simpsons writers a ham? There have been a few ham radio references on the simpsons.

one a "nerd" student at springfield elementary, two either patty or selma ( i dont remember which and this one.

  • I am a ham, and i think this was HALARIOUS! hahahahaha!!! so funny. some people do take the hobby far to seriously though.

    73,

    KC9PST

  • I only know a crap load of hams like this. And how about that dumb ass the has the vids on you tube about how to operate a ham radio. He must be skinners brother

  • Doh ... de VE3EN

  • Sweet! de VA3FM

  • I am proud to be a ham, and prouder yet to be a geek!

  • lol

  • If you hams out there can't laugh at this, then you ARE all losers!

  • hiya sparkgap i think this is funny.

  • Yes, Go a hamfest if you think this cartoon is inaccurate... Remember to breath only through your mouth if you do...

  • Comment removed

  • Hey now, not all of us hams are nerds. But i will admit some hams are just well, very odd! Go to any hamfest and you will see some of the oddest people you will ever meet in your life.

  • Well spotted..

    73..Karl

    VK7HDX

  • QRZ - is anyone listenng?

  • haha... the antenna is indoor... and so short...

  • I guess thats why they're only getting from Principal skinner's house to Moe's tavern

  • I am the holder of WA3QIZ. I was watching this live and had the call applied and paid for before the commercial break.

I'd like to do a "Springfield Elementary Radio Club" special event sometime soon.

  • Comment removed

  • the call "wa3qiz" belongs to the savant DX group in VA

  • i think some of the simpsons writers may be hams.

  • Okay, what makes Ham operators nerds? honestly? Just because we like to talk all over the world does not make us nerds.

  • Yes very true, my friend just got his license and now i'm thinking about getting mine.

  • Yes very true, my friend just got his license and now i'm thinking about getting mine.

  • Hams are not nerds... it's a hobby and it's also brilliant for self traning... i'm almost certian that you have a hobby or something you enjoy. Just because someones hobby is different to yours it does not make it any more rubbush as yours may be... Also, well said Pilot865 and 73's to you!

  • Well Put!

    73's

  • Remeber you have to be able to laugh at your hobby.
