we played this song....but we had the drum heads (helicopter effects) hidden in the catwalks of the performing arts center....so it would give the effect of the helicopters flying directly over the audience. very neat piece!

to the Bryansaxsymphony808 character, i go to Hutchinson High School, im a Sophmore, i play Clarinet, and your rule on big bands is a bit contradicting to the saying, There's strength in numbers." duh. and we actually do have seperate bands, three of them to be exact, and we do a very good job at what we do. its our profession, and our passion. we take pride in having a large band with exceptionally talented kids and even more exceptionally talented directors, so next time, think of a positive!

no offense or anything but your band is way to big it just ruins the song at some point and yeah with a band this large many instruments overpower each other like we have 3 bands concert(9th grade) Symphonic(10th-2th)and Symphonic wind ensemble(Top Players ranging from 10th-12th) therfore theres a balance not having each and there need to be more woodwind sound like at 3:26 i see like 200 trumpets go up but seriously your director need to think about cutting down on students in this band

Far too brassy in my opinion, i.e the trumpets overpower their parts. flutes, Clarinets and Horn (I play Horn) Have a beautiful part, but with trumpet inttos, they're wiped off the face of the earth.

I'm sorry, but the bells are just really overbearing like the entire band. They did a really good job (actually the entire band did). We did this piece my junior year, and it was awesome! There is too much reverb in a gym. I'm sorry, but I've never liked gym performances, either. It sounds really good, though.
