Hello ! I'm looking for years the Frederic Botton song "Black Botton" you it could tell me how to find it or put it on You tube please ! thank you in advance and sorry for the spelling I am French but I would like have that wonder.. *__* Merci d'avance bien, cordialement.
Went to see this play at the Shadow Theatre in Aurora, after some Q at Brothers, then went to see my band play some blues on E Colfax. What a great night! I was blown away by the play, if you get a chance, go see it.
in the August Wilson play "ma raineys black bottom," written about the actual recording of this song, Ma Rainey is a lesbian. check it out, its a good read.

Is this actually Ma Rainey singing? We talked about her in class and the teacher insinuated there were no recordings of her. I hope she is wrong!

@DarkRequiem Yes, she recorded this in Chicago for Paramount in December of 1927. It was released in Feb of 1928.

Ma Rainey & her Georgia band. Chicago, 1927. Ma R.-Vcl. Shirley Clay-Cnt. Al Wynn(?) tbn. Artie Starks(?)cl. P?-dms?.
Elle a rencontré B. Smith quand celle-ci avait 17 ans. Elle lui a enseigné les bases du métier et du blues. Ca fait rêver!
