  • Is this actually Ma Rainey singing? We talked about her in class and the teacher insinuated there were no recordings of her. I hope she is wrong!

  • @DarkRequiem Yes, she recorded this in Chicago for Paramount in December of 1927. It was released in Feb of 1928.

  • Went to see this play at the Shadow Theatre in Aurora, after some Q at Brothers, then went to see my band play some blues on E Colfax. What a great night! I was blown away by the play, if you get a chance, go see it.
