  • back in the day when i had that wireless router good but only a G now i have 2 virgin media super hubs hooked up and then a belkin wireless N working via a netgear powerline kit pretty sick setup

  • stop banging the bloody camera around

  • that guy is noob and i have 16 port home network... NOOB!!!

  • he said understanded

  • Can anybody advise me if we can convert a wifi router to a repeater or a access point so that I can increased wireless area. PLs help. I ve two wifi router but do not want to connect the second one with wire. Thnx for your advise.

  • There's a thing called a "tripod," consider using one. Thanks for the video.

  • yeah buddy ur sky router has an ADSL modem in it .... u want to end up paying 10 bucks for ur ISP a month... just run ur Sky router through your DSL connection (im assuming u have a dsl connection) give him the WEP key and call it a day... home LANS really only need A router not routers just one ...if you need more wired connections just invest in a switch that will meet your needs.. if you need mroe wireless coverage get a repeater or run a remote access point to the wirelessless area

  • Let's just say that your ISP delivers a simple modem with only one Ethernet port, then connect this to your WAN port on the first router with DHCP enabled (and NAT for people like you).

Then connect Port 1 to Port 1 on the 2'nd router and disable DHCP and NAT and give it a static IP outside the DHCP range of the first router. Name SSID on both the same and give them the same code.

This way you only have 1 NAT and DHCP to deal with and no matter what router you on, your PC's can communicate

  • As a standart most routers have NAT enabled.. So if your ISP delivers a router without WiFi and you want WiFi, and you then do this setup then first you create a new subnet of your primary router from your ISP. Second your create a new subnet again by connecting via WAN port (so here your splitting up your network in 3: ISP Router, Router 1 and then router 2. 3 layers of NAT wich will give you package drops and slow response time.

  • this vid is not accurate coz thats a sky adsl router u noob

  • @Jubenga23: give your own router a static WAN IP address and then log into the uVerse router and set that device to DMZ (demilitarized zone). That will forward any and all ports and services to the second router an it will do all the work.

  • OMFG! This is soooo cool! Does it mean I could put a second accelerator pedal in my car and get twice the speed from one motor???? Really dude, learn something about networking before making a "tutorial"...

  • Nice ideas but there's two problems here - it doesn't up your broadband speed as you're probably limited from 10-30Mbps as a cable user. ADSL users get between 4-12Mbps, though when I lived 2 minutes from the telephone exchange I got 22Mbps downstream. The other problem you have, as the packets are routed between routers, that if your Xbox is connected to one and your PC to the other they will not be able to see eachother.

  • Um...your speed will not change with that if anything it would be worse because of the fact you have two wireless frequencies next to each other causing the connecting to be a bit slower... the connection

  • you defiantly know nothing about a networking

    goodspeed, throughput speed etc.....

  • No. This will not make anything faster.

  • umm kid.. that's called a network switch.

  • This video really helped me out thank you. I share my wireless with several other people. My router has been set to give me half the speed and the other people the other half between them. I had moved one router 5o give a better signal and got the wires in a muddle. Thank you so much for your help. It was explained in a simple form so that it can be easily understood.

  • I really don't understand the point in this video. Having another router plugged in to your existing router does not make your connection faster. The line in to your house is set by your telecoms company and other factors such as distance. If your on a 5Mbps line, then 5Mbps is the maximum you'll receive. Plugging in another router will make no difference.

  • ok i think i understand what your saying so

i have a DG834GT (sky old version modem) and on the back it has a RJ11 connector for internet.

so to connect to another router such as the DG834N so that it has internet i need to have the RJ11 part of the Eithernet to RJ11 cable in the DG834GT and in the DG834N have the Ethernet part in there. is this right? so that they work side by side?

also if was to connect wirelessly to any of the routers will this configuration work?

  • dude you made me dizzy as f&%$ watching this. thanks for the info but not what i was looking for

    ty.

  • Kool

  • i dont like netgear

  • load balance?

  • The sky router the plug away from the ethernet ports is a ADSL port and will not work witha ethernet cable

  • Does anyone know how to sorta deactivate the built in router in my modem and use my own router. I have AT&T uverse and the built in router kids sucks.

  • Hey man u r only rotating the wifi not the speed of net understand......

  • although this video was poorly done, it makes the lesson was very good - he is just a kids give hima break . good job kid

  • you did a horrible recording , i couldnt stand whatchng the all video ... but that camera still common sense.

  • i have wifi and on my modem my wlan and internet icons dont stay on and day used to now my internet is slow as and wen ever i go to upload a video now instead of 10 mins remaining it says stuff like 1110 mins remaining so i just quit can u plz help me and now it takes like 30 minutes just to load a 3 minute video dat im watchin and i cant download stuff like google chrome or update my softwware it just pauses .i have a new computer i got last month and i have windows 7 plz help plz plz plz plz

  • Your ZOOMED IN camera work makes me dizzy. Grade: F

    Try a tripod

  • how did you make a password for the second router?

  • @gadzetden sorry i didn't know an ipod nano could stand up on its own you dick.

  • It works if you are on a cable split the line plus 2 cloned routers....saying that if you have 2 cloned routers in the same area Virgin media can detect it and disable both.

  • This does not increase speed at all. As qew204 said it only adds connections.

Not only do you still need to go through the primary router but you also are STILL sharing one public IP address. This is completely pointless.

  • Ur nails are shit .. black go cut them :S

  • @d4rkz44z44 haha

  • Dont become a network engineer...

  • you cant get a ethernet cable into a adsl cable port. you connect the ethernet into port one on both all this does is create more through put to the internet no speed diff

  • @NoXiiiDe there's routers that you can get which will take Ethernet input and one which takes phone line input and I have an Ethernet input one spare so I used it...buy one off eBay che

  • Hi, how did you manage to fit a ethernet cable in the sky input port? =/

  • tard

  • This is a total waste of time for what the title says it is for. This will do NOTHING to speed up your internet. I can see where his basic premise comes from tho - offload some of the network traffic onto another cpu from the other router but for home use this speed diff would not be noticable and other things affect speed too. The routers use routing tables and mac tables to route and now there are 2 of each to worry about so that process is now slower. DHCP should also be disabled on the 2nd

  • Next time please stabilize your cemera, that makes me headache.but Thank You

  • u dick!!!

  • Just what I was looking for. I needed to extend the range of my sky internet. They just sent me another router. Will try this. Thanks!

  • This does not really make your broadband faster. It just gives you more connections for a LAN Network.

  • @qew204 yes thats true but if one of your routers is busy wih other sytems then it will be running slower than usual. In this case you can connect to your unbusy router and have a faster connection to your broadband. In some cases this is just giving you more connection for a LAN network but in other cases it may increase speeds

  • @TuturialVideos Well depending on the setup if the main router is busy and the secondary router tries to use the broadband it will also be slow, due to the fact that it must go through the primary router.

  • @qew204 If you were to buy a ethernet port splitter then u could have one ethernet going into them both via the splitter and then it will not have to go through the router. The thing why i decided to show this video is that my nextdoor neighbour pays me for my internet as i charge only £15 a month for him to use my internet and i only pay £25 a month so i get some of it payed for. Instead of letting him use the same router as me i tell him the password to the 2nd one and he can use that one.

  • @TuturialVideos You might be able to use an ethernet but I don't think that a modem would be able to handle traffic from both routers at the same time. At my house I have primary router (DLink DHCP) and a secondary (Netgear no DHCP) and I can do multiple file transfers on the LAN with out much speed loss.

  • @qew204 In all this can be a handy trick

  • @TuturialVideos So i take if you don't know what a ethernet switch is

  • You have me TOTALLY confused !

  • So it works with any routers

  • @danielv183 Yes it does, I have a DLink and a Netgear router setup like this.
