@BLUESMANRONCHICAGO You have good taste, Paul Butterfield and Cream two of the best Blues Bands Ever !! If you love KOKO TAYLOR check out Trampled Under Foot, Daniele can sing !!!!
@roadappleband i always include this song in blues jams i play at, have added a nice harp part in place of Clapton's guitar solo. Have played the harp since 1969, will always play this song as tribute to Booker T, Albert King, Jack Bruce, and Paul
Deep Soul Stuff,listening to this simply gives Goose bumps, Buddy guy and Koko what a combination, Buddy is playing his balls of here man,great chops and what an expression,nothing Plastic about these folks, this is pure Blues from the top shelf,thanks for posting such good inspirational Stuff,Vic.
Recommended video: Festival Express from 1970, featuring a much younger Buddy Guy, touring by train in Canada with The Dead, Joplin, The Band, and others.
Help me out here guys, I found Koko, Buddy and Big Mama Thorner, just this week through a programme on BBC 6 music hosted by Kaiser Chiefs, now I need the list of 'must have cd's' to start my blues journey, any suggestions
Albert Collins / Johnny Copeland / Robert Cray "SHOWDOWN!" especially the song "Black Cat Bone". That is pure stink. It should be listened to only by trained professionals in a controlled environment.
Here's a somewhat more obscure but utterly great band: BB CHUNG KING and the BUDDAHEADS. Try "Crawlin' Moon" or "Nothin' to Lose" on for size. Not only is every member of the band fabulous, but the tone this guy gets is totally off the chain
thisi s my favorite blues song , sang by 2 of the best, with Buddy's outstanding guitar---- I get chills from this version. I've seen them both but not together.
Saw Buddy and Koko at the Rialto in Joliet IL. Koko STILL kicks it!! Buddy????? Pure thunder....what a ticket!! Wish they would "buddy up" again. I LOVE Koko. She's my woman and that's that. :-}
Buddy is a great accomplished musician. Perfect to hear him with Koco too. I can't wait...as tickets go on sale in 12 hours...and going to grab the limit...LOL Yah bet your booty I am!
