1thing i dont get in the Thai vs Japanese vids is that.. when a japanese fighters loses, it's always that he's "not so good" no1 ever thinks that maybe they're both good fighters, but the Thai made it look easy since he was so good o.O
I really hate when people base all Karate fighters off some really poor one's. The Karateka's in this video are far from what I've seen. And not all Thai boxers fight just for rent there are some that gone and become pros in different organizations. Style is really important how can so many say its not of course having heart helps but I've never seen a tai chi master fight I wonder why? I'm not trying to say anything bad about styles just saying it's really important to learn the right technique
i think those Karate guys were a little too.....agressive, karate has a smorgasbord of defensive techniques and counter attacks, but its a little light on the offense to be used that aggressively
wow, those two "karate fighters" are poor representatives of the art. neither of them seems to know how to punch, swinging wildly in poor imitation of boxing-style punches; and neither of them knows how to take down an opponent in the clinch. not good match-ups at all--they were clearly outclassed by the Thai fighters.
I am not sure there are any amateur fighters who can compete with these fighters. The first fighter won some major tournament back in the day. They probably have 150 pro fights under the belt. The karate guys could admittedly have better technique (although both were brave as hell!) the outcome would have been the same.
are you serious? i suppose it depends on what you mean by amateur. i know you've seen a lot of karate in japan, so i'm just incredulous that you think these "karate fighters" are good. you interviewed Richard Heselton. don't you think he's a far superior karateka than either of the two in this chaos video? i would put my money on someone like him, or any of the junior instructors at the JKA headquarters, any day over the amateurs in chaos.
Few fighters in the Japanese Karate world have been fighting hard competitive matches from the age of 7 and few have 150 pro fights in a seriously competitive fight scene. Those Thai fighters can make almost anyone look bad. They are not sport fighters. They do it to pay the rent.
are you talking about the Thai guys or the Japanese guys? in this thread i'm talking about the japanese karateka. i can tell the two Thai guys are excellent. it's the karateka who don't seem to be very skillful--and seeing other videos of Uchida on youtube only confirms my opinion.
I can't disagree. My show suggested that Uchida's opinion of himself might not have been commensurate with his true abilities. He seemed to feel he should be able to walk through the Thai fighter. That seems like a dangerous illusion.
No amateur fighters who can compete with the hardcore Thai pros. I know many karate amateurs who could easily compete with these two Karate fighters. But, I suspect they too would be demolished by these Thai pros. I don't think either Thai got out of second gear to demolish the karate guys.

I dont think he actually said they were "good" he said they had heart, which they showed in spades .
