  • i like his voice its cool

  • Don't stand on my what?

  • did he say, "dont stand on my dog or ill cut your head off" sounds like it to me

  • That is so funny. I'm sure he meant it as a joke; I don't think he was really all that pissed.

  • He is fucking quality.

English boy here, so maybe not so popular among the Aussies, but your boy is quality. Nothing but respect. The more shutdowns the better.

  • Cadel is a great rider and genuine humanitarian . He is criticized because he just doesn't take any shit from rude arrogant European journalists. Put yourself in his shoes in this instance he's just ridden for 5 + hours being attacked by his rivals with no team support. He's tired and a bit frustrated and some arsehole nearly steps on his dog.

  • cut it off!

  • Dont' stand on my ,...... what?

  • Its fairly evident thats a joke.

  • "DONT TOUCH ME!"

    Teheeee

  • I heard of the story before but now i actually hear it im more inclined to believe it was more of a joke

  • he was obviously joking, come on people. his vioce however is weird.. i don't know i guess he has sponsor and he is probably obligated to do these interviews.

  • did he say "dont stand on my dog"?

  • what did he say dont stay on my dog ?

  • LOL at the ending, hear his nervous laughter.

  • lol

  • did he say dont stand on my dog or i will cut your head off

  • I love him

  • Why is everybody dissing Cadel? Without a team to support him like Sastre's on Alpe d'Huez, I think he did a great job of attacking - on his own, but depleted for his final time trial. He came in a close 2nd - not too shabby for someone put down here for being an Aussie and effininate. I wish he'd won, he worked hard as hell after a debilitating crash at the start that would have knocked out some of the more "macho" competition. Get off his back. Here he let off steam...and rode clean.

  • I agree with lizzoi1, it is a joke! :)

  • My new goal in life is to win a major endurance sporting event and then tell the media to not step on my dog or risk decapitation. I like Evans. European sports media often is sensationalistic, irrational and invasive. It's nice to see an athlete tell them to bugger off. They often deserve it.

  • Of the options presented, I'm gonna go ahead and go with "cracking under the pressure".

That was so awesome it made me cry a little, though.

  • Cadel Evans is a legend! If anybody else had his team for support they would not have even made the top 10. Cadel would have won this tour twice already if it wasn't for the fact that he is in a sprinting team - move teams cadel.

  • he didnt attack the entire tour but again csc put him against the wall.

  • cadel deserve to win1 tour de france

  • I guess hes a kind of a loner..

But whatever, hes such a great rider and thats what counts.

Its not because i like him, cause i really dont, but you guys should remember that hes a rider, not a popstar!

  • Ogrady did a great job but could have been replaced by many others (eg Larsson, Bak). The Schleek brothers, Voigt and Cancellra made the difference, Sorensen is also great but csc have so many good riders.

  • I actually meet him in beijing this year and wished him good luck and shook his hand. Seemed nice enough to me.

  • Cadel Evans may not look or sound like a bad mofo, but he is most definitely so.

    Don't F with Cadel.

  • Don't touch Cadel, don't touch Molly. In fact, don't even look at him.

  • I think "or I cut your head off" was intended as a joke .. why is everyone taking it so seriously?

  • Yeah I agree. He was laughing after he said it.

  • because person like to witchhunt the favorites, "Lance is a Doper" "Cadel is a sucker" and all the things like that

  • The tone was quite aggresive

  • It doesn't sound like that and he doesn't behave like he's making a joke.

  • I know! well said!

  • @lizzoi1 think you're right, while he's laughing after he said it...

  • Cadel Evans sucks so hard!

  • How exactly. Hes come second in the most gruelling sports spectacle in the world twice. What have you done with your life? Provide some evidence before you make an ass of yourself next time.

  • Australians are wonderful people. Cadel Evans is not representing the majority of them. He is the rotten apple. He is a sore loser and a jerk.

  • Cadel raced that tour on his own, if he swapped places with Sastre, he would have won by an hour.

  • Very true. Sastre had a great team, silence lotto however seemed to swing around the back of the pack.

  • Twolunches you predjudice biggot. If you are a genuine fan of Sastre, then you should be forever thanking Stuart O'Grady. If not for his work in the alps and basically the enitire tour Sastre or any Team CSC rider would not have made the podium.

  • Yes I admit I really don't like Australians so that makes me a prejuduced bigot, but I didn't start it. People like stuart ogrady are good riders but I'm not sports interested, I just like the scenery of the french countryside. People obsessed with sport do have issues in my opinion - like the entire Australian population for instance.

  • It's OK mate ... I understand it's only sour grapes! :-) It's hard to accept that a nation with a population roughly that of the city of London, has a better cricket team, rugby team, league team, swimming team, cycling team etc etc etc. People who lack passion and obsession to succeed, whether in sport or life in general do have issues in my opinion - like the entire British population for instance.

  • Cadel Evans is the most effeminate Aussie I have ever seen. This includes female Aussies.

  • "I have a lot of respect for respect,Evans said. "There are people who have respected me, and my time and fatigue, and those people I have time for. Other people want all your time when you don't have time or energy, and then they don't give you the time of day when you do have time or energy. It's a two-way thing. There are guys in the media who have always followed me, though thick and thin, guys who have always supported me. I've always got time for them, because to me they are good people.

  • Bunch of haters on this site... I think 2nd is pretty good.

  • Utter pratt, and thats that.

  • His laugh at the end is really creepy.

  • Why did they make such a fuss about this whinging Aussie? The guy has no class - like Australians in general. Sastre was a deserving winner.

  • I think you have no class taking a cheap swipe at Aussies.

  • i think cadel likes sailor's.

  • What a muppet.

  • I reckon he was joking

  • Menchov and Valverde had no more teamates around them in the climbs than Evans yet they both attacked on numerous occasions. All Evans did was wheelsuck the other top GC contenders. No one should win the TDF that way while refusing to do any of the lead pacemaking himself. He thought he could wheelsuck his way to a TDF win and on Alpe Duez he actually permitted the Schleck boys to slow the chase pace down without trying to raise it himself. He deserved to lose and he's classless to boot.

  • Well written. He is not a true champion and will never attack.

  • He isn't a champion at all numbnuts, he hasn't won the tour, but he rides agressively within his strengths. He's an all-arounder, the attacking you probably speak of is in the high mountains and done by climbing specialists and most often dopers, you dope. You are probably one of the idiots who put down Contador's victory in the Giro as boring and praised Ricco's attacking nature. Shut up and get on a bike.

  • Are u kidding me? He was the only one prepared to set a pace going up the climbs after someone attacked. Going up the Alpe D'huez the last 5km, Cadel was at the front trying to to lose the least amount of time on Carlos as possible. Menchov did nothing, he even got dropped at the start and Valverde was lucky to be with the top GC contenders at the end, and if he was he was only going for stage wins.

  • ok everyone be quiet!!! just because he's a better bike rider than you all... doesent mean you have to all be jealous! shame to you all

  • Did any of you actually watch the tour? Evans had to work like anything throughout. CSC set the pace and had him isolated at every crucial point. Anyone thinking he should have done better on Alpe d'Huez needs to watch him make the climb again. He was giving it 100% after a tough few days, and he lost less time to Sastre than Armstrong lost to Mayo in '03 after a comparable attack.

  • Evans rode every alpine climb as passively as you could for a tour favorite. He didn't attack a single climb, not once, never. When sastre was dropping big time on him on Alpe Duez, EVEN AFTER the Schleck bros slowed the chase group pace to a crawl for a few minutes he still refused to go to the front and set pace to limit his losses. No one should win a TDF that way. He thought he could wheelsuck the climbs and win the TT. He deservedly lost and he's still the most classless rider out there.

  • Amen. He didn't deserve it because he didn't EARN it. If you want to be the heavyweight champ, you gotta throw a punch...

  • Well said. Don't know about the most classless rider though; I would give that one to his ausie teamate Robbie McEwen.

  • Exactly.. he rode Alpe D'Huez perfectly. If he had tried to follow Sastre in the beginning of the climb, the hard part, he could have exploded and lost much more time

  • Evans always talks a lot of trash to the media as he's walking away protected by his little bald headed trained pet monkey. Anyone else notice that he's always talking tash as he's leaving. LOL, puss lost. Congrats to the classy Sastre.

  • Why did he even have his dog at a stage finish anyway? very strange little man!

  • was he crying

  • No Lance, No Vino, No Astana, No Floyd, No Jan, No Ivan. Still 2nd place.

  • don't forget no drugs

  • This year he had a crash !

  • What a diva! I wanted him to win at the start, but by the end he was just being a tool! He should pull his head in.

  • gonna have to argue with you all here, for too reasons, cadel is a funny guy, the dog and cut of your head comment, play the last couple of seconds in this movie, anyone else notice him laughing??? hahaha, you people are thick headed, and Sastre won, i tell you why, not because cadels head is up his arse, but because this year, sastre was faster, im sure cadel woud addmit that, reply if you want, but dont give shit to many peoples hero.

  • You kicka my dog?

  • Major league crybaby lost, hahahahahahaha. Wheelscuker too, never attacked once on any climb, deserved to lose.

  • Hugely glad sastre won and this little pussy lost. And he rode like a pussy wheelsucker on all the climbs including AD.

  • This punk rode like a complete pussy in every single alpine stage. He didn't make one single attack or lead any group with pacemaking up any climb, not even once! Heck even when Sastre attacked on Alpe duez, all Evans did was wheelsuck the Schleck brothers all the way up AD. He refused to lead the chase group to cut his losses on AD to Sastre. Sastre rode that entire climb by himself, meanwhile CE the wheelsuck artist woud not even lead the chase group after him. He didn't deserve the TDF win.

  • what a wanker he is that australian idiot! what about me telling him i will cut your balls next time i'll see you in front of all press?

  • Cadels head is right up his own arse. That is why Sastre won.

  • agree 100% what a tosser with his bahavior. i agree and Im even an aussie shameful

  • "cut your head off" that's an interesting choice of words man. I'd say "roid rage" if I didn't know better.

He has really changed from the interviews in the 2007 tour.

  • HAHAHAHA Cadel loser SOB.

  • Cadel is a freak. Guess his friends and family are real proud of his behaviour the last couple of weeks.

And don't cut cadel some slack. You don't see other riders in the tour act bitchy, spoiled and psyko.

  • Bitch got that ass tapped today! Sastre wins and the Evans whiner goes home once again. He showed his real self this tour with his diva behavior and utter reluctance to attack anyone in the race. Nobody wants a Tour winner who couldn't take a single stage anyhow.

  • haha, what is it he says, don't stand on my dog?

  • This baby is an embarasment to his Lotto teamates & detremental to the progression of the sport...

  • oh, c'mon, you mean people are actually taking this "I'll cut your head off" comment as a serious statement?

    lmao

  • cadel ftw! TT domination wait and watch him blow the field away! on ya cadel mate we love ya!

  • We're waiting... hahahahahhaah!

  • I bet he can hit a real high tone with that voice.. Priceless :)

Hope he doesn't win - he's soooo boring..

  • No worries, mate. Cadel has it in the bag. Sastre's brilliant effort up the Alp d'Huez will, most likely, fall a few seconds short. And what's the problem with being a bit aggro. The CSC train has been all over the poor guy for over a week. He's done it alone, which deserves some recognition. Or, better yet, a real team for next year's repeat attempt.

  • What an un-Australian, "private school" poofy natured, spoilt brat, weirdo Cadel Evans is. I hope he wins the tour but Im not happy having someone like him represent Australia. Hes a wanker!

  • he's just an ass and I'll never cut him some slack ';)

  • "Don't touch me" and now this (and other weird stuff). Regardless of provocation or fatigue most pros get that you don't behave like this when cameras are pointing at you. Don't pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel. Notice, too, that mainstream media outlets are discussing his behaviour. I'm sure his sponsors care. I was a fan. Wot a donkey (say in really high voice).

  • I agree 100%. I used to be a fan. He sounds like a spoiled 3 year old. I don't recall other riders getting their chamois in a wad.

And would someone please tell Cadel this IS a TEAM sport? He shouldn't be angry with the CSC boys for attacking him. He should be PO'd that he doesn't have any support. Does he still think he's on the single-track?

  • great point. i bet his teammates got their "heads cut off" after the cameras stopped. but is he saying "don't stand on my dog?" dog? i can't have heard that correctly.

  • Cut the guy some slack!

  • I'd be grumpy too ! Btw, you better not stand on my dog or i'll cut more than your head off !

  • Give Cadel a break. How would you like to ride 150-200km uphill and then have reporters and cameras all over you asking for immediate comments? Anyway, the comment about his dog was a joke.

  • They are paid good money to ride hard and interview easy, thats their job.

  • he's under a lot of pressure but giving the yellow to csc is a blessing in disguise. as long as cadel stays close he can win it back come TT

  • certainly can. he will explode in the time trial and take it home from there.

  • ROFL

  • no worries mate! just a bit of friendly aussie banter. I'm sure it was meant in jest. Cadel is a decent guy. Not mr personality but he's not about to buy a guillotine just yet... Love the tour!!

  • what a cry baby. i used to think he was a decent dude.

  • What is going on with Cadel ? I understand that he has not be everybody´s darling but why is he ALWAYS grumpy like this ?

  • Its the Testosterone Injections.
