I'm an instructor myself... so i also know what you're talking about.
Obviously... this was at a convention... so if you would use this choreo, i'd reccomend you give it to an ADVANCED class... that's why there are different levels ;-)
btw "it's out of the stepping world and rules"??? sorry mate, but that's just crap!
Yes to cross phrasing no to so many pivots on the platform!
Stepping is physio therapy not a dance to maniac workout..If you want to Dance do it under no platforms. I love complecated choreography but keeping the rules make students easy to understand the steps! Such workouts put people away from Steppin' Industry!
Err.. well, thanks for your input, it wasnt me teaching anyway so maybe you should be telling them???.. and I had lots of fun taking part!! This was a highly advanced class, for highly advanced people... not for the general students.
As long as the Instructor knows how to cue, how to create 32 count combos, and provide 2 to 3 alternatives for the harder moves...that's all that matters. There are NO rules!!!
If it's an advanced class, you should NOT cater to basic steppers. You warn everyone at the beginning of the class that it's advanced. If they don't like it, they are more than welcome to leave. No one is forcing anyone to take advanced step classes.
I like to go up to 155BMP and I have a 61 year old in my class...
Excuse me...Why you use the step...FAST, SO MANY TURNS, SO Difrent rhythms...Its out of THE STEPPING WORLD and RULES...Learn and follow the Stepping rules!!!
Errr.. why not?! Because its great fun and bloody hard! What rules.. who said you were right and we are wrong???? Different rhythms and cross phrasing make it even better!
What exactly ARE the rules?
