I'm pretty sure that Demyx has another Desperation Attack. It's the one where he goes "C'mon, kick it to the beat! Gotcha now!" He usually does it twice and then combos that into the water clone attack. He also can't be staggered (or killed) during that attack.

The only thing you can do to block Xaldin's is probably a Limit and possibly Jumping and Gliding the first part and Quick Running/Dodge Rolling the second. This can only be achieved if you don't get caught in it in the first place/as soon as it starts.
