  • 28 people obviously don't know what amazing guitar playing is

  • oh my Jesus Christ monkey balls what tuning is he in

  • That awkward moment when you think you wrote a good song but then found this

  • Wow, thats badass. I believe he's opening for Andy Mckee at the Plaza in Orlando next month, sweet!

  • Amazing harmonics...

  • They way antoine sees his guitar playing is how we see guitar hero expert on hyper speed 5 times 20

  • Thank you for writing such pieces. your courage and emotion in playing are inspiring.

  • 7/8!

  • i am going to go home and rethink my life

  • amazing guitar, amazing guitar player, amazing song, amazing the day i listen to this everyday

  • блин... ну бабские ногти это жесть... лучше на электрогитаре медиатором играть!!!

  • I remember when I showed this song to my friend who was just starting to learn guitar. He laughed his ass off.

  • @wondubread When he does that 5 finger flick thing at the end , is that the bollocks or what? The last time my fingers went that fast i was watching a Emma Starr video!! Know wot i mean? Those of you who dont know Emma (horniest bitch in the world) Starr look her up on " Dirty Horny Slags Are Us Dot Com.

  • @goochsurfer You sicko. You obviously know who Emma Starr is then? I,ll tell you what mate this Antoine geezer has a lot going for him. Ive seen a few interviews and the bastard is a nice bloke aswell, makes ya sick dont it? Mind you he has got those "dont really suit me" glasses on AND ginger hair and you know what they say about ginger geezers, i bet his first girlfriend said when he dropped his purple y-fronts "Oh dear Antoine is that why ya surnames like it is? Four fucking inches? Pluckoff

  • @paulrosewell666 lol wut? And nah I didn't know who she was, but I just looked her up now and mann, VERY dissapointed.

  • @goochsurfer VERY dissapointed? How long have you been a homosexual? I will tell her what you said she is coming round in a bit cos i rang her up and said "Emma i hope you dont mind but my face is leaving in 5 mins and i,d like you to be on it please" I suppose you like the Asian look. Poppy out eyes and a moustach. Cant fault you on that one i suppose my first wife had a penis and a beard!! Sexy bitch i,ll miss her.

  • @paulrosewell666 I'm no homo chief, I just didn't think she is that hot, you over-hyped her. Maybe its because I'm 22, and you're a geezer ( You keep saying geezer, and you mention emma star. ) Also, you suck at trolling, you're first comment was funny but you ruined it.

  • can i play this vedio ten times slower?

i've got the tab but... but... are u fcking kidding me? lol

  • @geter6806 Lol no kidding right?! I just learned Glimmer of Hope...but did it in a bout 4 note increments....Took about 2 weeks, but I got it down eventually....just break it down into tiny bits and then put the bits together...you'll get it.

  • @DrBromiAndufEwd well... after one week working on it, im starting to get this song, and im doing better! wheww~

thank god that i have gp5... tho it sounds weird, but u can actually figure out the notes from it heehaa!

  • WTF i did not know god can play guitar

  • BOOM!

  • CHAKA CHA CHAKA CHA CHAAAAAAA!!!!!

  • Awesome player, but I think it's supposed to be t-shirt and THEN sweater.

  • so those harmonics at the end aren't him right? like they are the background track? i hope

  • Comment removed

  • @greenbeaner69 yes those harmonics are him. if you look at his picking hand, you can see when he does it. he pretty good huh?

  • when michael hedges was the guitar player from another planet, antoine is from another universe

  • 0:00 - 0:05 ... Dufour plays BTBAM's selkies riff 1?!?!1!?/1/1/1/1 omgomgomg

  • there's a background music with him, if you would notice his right hand, he only does a little plucking, I thought that his left hand makes some of the plucks, but after observing it the whole time, it makes me believe that there actually IS a background music. I recommend Andy McKee to you!

  • @lLlHARVEYlLl

I am sure everything you hear is coming from Antoine in 1 take. When he is not plucking, he is tapping with his left. Also, his almost invisible up and downstrokes right (and sometimes left), fill up spaces in between. Last but not least, do not miss out on his magical thumb. I have seen Antoine playing up close, and also Andy btw. Both are great, but they have a somewhat different approach to fingerstyle guitar. And they close friends btw.

  • I can't believe he made like ZERO mistakes... Seriously, this guy is insane!

  • YOU ARE GENIOUS

  • @Atlrunner96

It's a Mario beauregard small jumbo florentine cutaway. Check antoinedufour.con for exact details. Also if anyone was curios the thing under is guitar is the Ergoplay guitar support. I bought one off eBay for like $40 and its wonderful. Suction cup bottoms to hold the guitar and adjust height and angle.

  • @jaygp20 i didn't even notice that until you said something about it!

  • my jaw dropped on the floor when i realized it's in 7/8, it doesn't sound like an odd meter at all but it is!

  • anyone know the guitar?

  • If anyone has any cover videos please post your channel I'd love to see a normal human play this. If people only realized what he is doing and the skill required to play this the video would have at least 30 trillion views. Btw the 400k+ views it has are all mine from different computers

  • Is this open C???

  • @DWM0614 I think it is yes, but I could be wrong!

  • I really like talented people like him, doing beautiful music like this.

Someday, I will be able to play like this guy.

Many thanks to you, Antoine for making my day happier and for this beautiful song.

  • super technical guitar!

  • I can feel my hair growing when I listen to this......

  • Isso que é harmonia musical !! XD

  • 3:22 till the end makes me cry like a baby!!! W T F

  • I wish I could play the guitar like that.. GREAT WORK MAN!!

  • i gave my love a cherry that had no stone

  • fantastic technic, just found this guy on a accident but what an accident lol .... thx :D

  • excellent another hit from antoine i cant get enough of his music its like he cant go wrong kudos sir!

  • ambient accoustic,shogaze,beautifful..

  • Wow! This is rite up there wt andy mckee!

  • Makes me miss my guitar...:-(

  • Y U R SO GOOD? This is great man.

  • THIS IS RIDICULOUSLY FREAKING GOOD!!!

  • 28 people don't know what a guitar is.

  • Awesome! I love this song!

  • The scarf is the source of his guitar skill and power. It's said that if one removes the scarf, it renders antoine completely unable to play.

  • @EddLineUnderscoreOne this is true...but i bet the strings also have something to do with it :P

  • @EddLineUnderscoreOne Nice try, Delilah.

  • 28 people think there's nothing wrong with ridin' a dick as long as it's lil wayne's.

  • 28 people tried to click on the rpoland profile link and missed

  • Really running in a dream when hearing this

  • that scarf is like a shock absorber, which means it stops the sound from continuing...

  • In my humble opinion this is Antoine's best song. Well at least of the ones posted on Candyrat.

  • I can't even fathom what all is going on here, it's crazy

  • I'll will sleep with this song on repeat tonight :)

I cant wait to see my weird dream.

  • Absolutely amazing

  • It's not a scarf, it's a bandana.

  • WOW

  • YOUR ALL WRONG THE REAL TUNING IS OMGWTF

  • Antoine Dufour is the honey badger. End of story

  • That's not a scarf.

  • The bandanna is to stop unwanted sounds when strumming. He made a video about this a veeeery long time ago, so you should probably check it out. /watch?v=-o2XKFfTMH0 at 8min 40sec he answers the question. I would suggest watching the whole video though, as it's worth it. :P

  • Did he mess up or deviate at 2:04 ?

  • @DallasLobdell Neither.

  • @DallasLobdell You were probably expecting a certain note or phrase that he did in fact stray from. Masters of music use this to keep you interested and waiting for the expected...wood for fretless graphite for fretted...

  • Comment removed

  • the intention of the scarf here is to gag the victim he is running after in his dream.

  • fuck those last 40 seconds are absolutely glorious. This man has WON at guitar.

  • 28 people thought the "Dislike" button read, "Dis - I like!

  • how the actual fuck could anyone not like this? even if its not your type of music who cares, you have to respect the guys unbelievable talent and if you don't appreciate the talent, you must either be death or a heartless argumentative cock. nuff said

  • @foxtrotalex

    You are absolutely right, sir!

  • too much AWESOMENESSSS!!

  • Dear people saying the scarf makes his playing cleaner, LOOK at the scarf. It is placed behind the nut of the guitar, it could not possibly have any effect on the actual strings ringing at scale length and so has nothing to do with making the sound cleaner. There is simply a small amount of vibration created between the nut and tuners. This comes out as a weird metallic ring when you strum really hard. Please don't "answer" peoples questions about something unless you actually know the answer

  • @foxtrotalex

its to block out unwanted sounds actually if u buy his tabs he recommends u do this actually

  • @comeonthenfightme It is to block one sound, the sound of ringing between the nut and tuners. There is no effect on the strings themselves, just the small string lengths between nut and tuner. It only happens when you hit strings loud and then mute abruptly. I asked Antoine for confirmation at the Canadian Guitar Festival this summer. Also in his "faq" video, he explains, and demonstrates this small ringing sound.

  • @comeonthenfightme he explains in a video of his on his youtube channel that he uses the scarf to block out the unwanted metallic ringing sound in between the nut and tuners

    he says this himself

  • @comeonthenfightme its actually to wipe the juices from his guitar after he blows everyones mind.

  • @comeonthenfightme Weird metallic ring=unwanted sound. You should read comments before responding.

  • @comeonthenfightme the "unwanted sounds" he's referring to is the metallic ring when you strum too hard actually

he adresses it in his FAQ video

  • @comeonthenfightme Thats exactly what he said? It dampens the vibrations between the nut of the guitar and the tuners, which is unwanted sound

  • @foxtrotalex that, and it looks awesome. i wanna do it but then it would totally be stealing the idea XD

  • @foxtrotalex It helps a lot with the harmonics too...I do the same thing.

  • @foxtrotalex Those people arent wrong. Cutting out the unwanted hum makes his sound cleaner.

  • @foxtrotalex and its not a scarf

  • @foxtrotalex We are the Borg, resistance is futile! Antoine's music results from exceeding boundaries, among other things. How do we pass limits when we can only speak when we know we are completely sure we know the answer?

Absolutely stunning music, tugs at my soul and beyond! x

  • @theoriginalpoobum :D Antoine cannot be assimilated, his skills are too righteous

  • @foxtrotalex as a matter of fact, antoine made a video explaining the purpose of the bandanna a couple years ago, and you sir are completely correct. thank you for not being ignorant

  • @foxtrotalex maybe not hearing the metallic ring is what they meant by cleaner, butthole

  • @foxtrotalex yea, i hate that sound. I would recommend doing what Antoine does for playing his style, or anything with really high distortion because that metallic sound can be a pain in the ass. It's only nice if you want that metallic sound in your music, which is really your decision.

  • @foxtrotalex hater

  • @foxtrotalex - Wouldn't getting rid of the "weird metallic ring" also clean up the overall sound slightly?

  • @foxtrotalex Hey, when you nullify the weird metallic ring, doesn't that actually make it have everything to do with making the sound cleaner?

  • @foxtrotalex Truth. There are many influences on an instruments sound that most people either don't know about or don't think about.

  • gaga?

  • SO MUCH SKILL..AMAZING STUFF !

  • damn.....

  • He feels his music, doesn't put up a smile for your viewing pleasure. The "scarf" is to dampen the excess string vibration to create clearer tones.

  • @sarmak87, thanks for the explanation. I figured it was something like that.

  • Cheer up a bit Antoine! Your playing is superb, what guitar are you using and what's with the scarf?

  • @TheWHEELS1952 the only reason he doesn't smile is because he's in the zone :) as for the guitar he uses i believe it's a....Laravée? he uses the bandana to create cleaner tones due to the vibrations on the headstock

  • @Made4EvilUsed4Good Guitar is a Mario Beauregard.

  • @Fichtezxc thanks mate :D

  • This will go down in history as one of the most fluent, imaginative and inventive pieces of all time. Guitar or any other instrument, this pushes the boundries of what most people thought possible. It certainly opened my mind!

  • Antoines knowledge for the neck of the guitar can't be compared to Einsteins knowledge of Mathematics, He's just to good.

  • why does this remind me of flying on a rainy day..

  • Finally! i found my next ringing tone.

  • @MultiSteini You might never want to pick up the phone again, since it would stop the music.

  • Antoine Dufour in 720p? My brain just exploded all over my keyboard.

  • amazing piece

  • Whats the deal with the hankerchiefs on all his songs?

  • @KnottPatriot he uses the bandana as a muffle for the ringing sound strings make when you pluck and slap them like he does. It makes the playing sound much cleaner

  • Me: Mummy, won't be home tonight for dinner.

    Mum: why?

Me: Imma go hunt down 27 people who "Dislike" a video on youtube.

Mum: Won't that be dangerous honey?

Me: No worries mama. I have 2965 people helping me out.

  • @aliengroove85 i dont get it

  • great guitar player but please loose the bandana

  • @mikeyG703 it serves a purpose. watch his FAQ video.

  • @mikeyG703 i think i remember him in an interview saying it's for sound quality ..personally i think he just likes it haha

  • @NightOwlPagan Im sure its for sound quality ...but a bandana ? haha Hes a great player though.

  • great

  • Am I the only one that would like to see Dufour's songs like this one covered on an electric guitar? I mean, as far as I know all the techniques used here are possible on an electric (I could be wrong). It's way beyond my means to even touch one of his songs, or else I'd try it myself. However, I've seen his songs covered by able players, but it's always with an acoustic, which leads me to wonder if there's some sort of rule that makes it impossible on electric.

  • @Vaekrix well i can see your concern, but from most people they could probably tell you acoustics probably bring out the sound better on the song, kinda like a different electric for different sounds, acoustics are just the same, acoustics provide that rich and warm tone that you'll never forget, and Antoine knows how to make the sounds come alive :P

  • just one gitar ? im still lookin for another man that also playing behind ..

dont be cruel how do you play all that at the same time with just one guitar :(

  • what happened at 3:37 and on with that finger flick...so awesome my nose is bleeding

  • God, why the hell do you people actually take youtube comments seriously? Get a fucking life, why the fuck would you care about what is said on the internet? (Unless you know the person)

  • To Run in a Wet Dream

  • I am so in love with this play list...thank you so much! <3

  • guys, sungha jung isnt that amazing. this is coming from a 15 year old guitar player. all it takes is a little passion and commitment and the shit he plays is EZ

  • @wondubread You play it and post your video showing everybody how "easy" it is. I can't wait.

  • @Tralman1965 ok sure. But the point im trying to make here that people don't realize is the skill between someone like antoine dufour and sungha jung is huge, not because of their playing ability, but because of the amount of talent it takes to compose any of these songs on a single instrument. Playing and writing are 2 completely different games.

  • Thumbs up if you're listening to this in 2081!

... I know I will be... this is what's played in heaven.

  • I love you're music. Words have lost me yet again.

  • @Hakan625 Sungha could definitely do this, but I think he might need to brush up a little on some of Antoine's techniques, because they're very different from what Sungha typically plays.

  • Adore this song! Amazing playing too!

  • almost sounds like 2 or 3 people are playing at the same time

  • @Hakan625 no, it was a joke.

  • My god man.....my god

  • My god, so beautiful. Makes me wanna write something similar, i love the harmonics.

  • WTF!

  • Now if you'll excuse me I have two James Taylor acoustic guitars to burn.

  • multi guitar playing..watch 2:35

  • @1190newcastle i believe he looped it

  • @Made4EvilUsed4Good no he didn't loop it at all. look at his left hand thats how he's doing it

  • @AustinAlexanderAW yeah i realized that about halfway in the vid!!...watched it like 50 times

  • Asi mi nebudete rozumieť (Slovakia), ale aj tak to napíšem. Antoine, teba by som chcel za učiteľa. Neviem hrať, ale tužim po tom aby som to raz vedel tak ako ty. S úctou SaliveN.

  • a lot of people play music very well,

few people create music very well... :)

  • @TomyTW and Antoine does it both

  • good, well done performance and I can see the effort in ur face to di it right, props to you and wish I could play like that or grow my nails :p

  • genius... gift of composing

  • If you think this is good, check out the CD version on Convergences. More sustain on the high notes. Love this stuff.

  • This needs done again with all black going on clothes wise. Watching your hands go is trippy as hell.

  • @mosesdcannibal that would be awesome

  • i dont understand the bandana at the headstock...why?

  • @bobbinman123 it duds out the part of the strings between the nut and the tuning pegs. when you strum hard, on a really sustaining guitar, those parts of the strings ring dissonant notes.
