I find the flame war on the American Military machine hilarious. Especially when this video is about the swiss military, a militia army in a country with conscription. Comparing the two is pointless. Though we are pretty good sharpshooters our military training is very basic with equipment from 1960's. The guys in that video, that is the army 90% of the time. The comprehensive US military effort has left hundreds of thousands of civilians dead ( estimates are well above 1 million in Iraq alone.) Das ist schon so. Das 550er ist unheimlich präzis, aber mal ernsthaft. Sowas braucht kein Mensch (ausser Sportschützen). Das 552er wäre besser für unsere Armee geeignet. Es ist genau dasselbe, nur dass es wesentlich kürzer und somit leichter im Gewicht und im Transport ist. Dass man jetzt statt wie mit dem 550er einem nicht mehr auf 500m zwischen die Augen ballern kann sondern "nur" noch auf 450m macht imo keinen Unterschied. Für die weiten Distanzen im Krieg gäbs sowieso Scharfschützen.

Erstens hat die Armee noch andere Aufgaben als gegen andere Länder Krieg zu fürhren,

zweitens ist die Schweizer Armee eine Abschreckung gegen potenzielle Angreifer, da diese bei einem Angriff auf die CH grosse Verluste verzeichnen würden und das kein normaler Staat eingehen will

und drittens ist die Schweiz eh das unangreifbarste Land der Welt... Alle haben ihr Geld bei uns, es würde sich also nicht lohnen uns, das eigene Geld also, anzugreifen^^

No, switzerland is a neutral country and isn`t member of the NATO. So the swiss army is for the self-defence of the country. There are some troops in Kosovo, but they arn`t fighting it is for the recovery and the rebuilding of the Kosovo.
