I'm from Arkansas, and I was sick about this game when it happened. But looking back, you have to realize that USC was NOT running up the score-they were just that good. It's not running up the score if your second and third string players dominate a weaker team. They can't stop playing; that's insulting to the other team and fans, and they can't do nothing-penalties. They had to play. Frankly it is an impressive game that no amount of sanctions will ever wipe the egg off the face of Arkansas.

you must have forgot...the rankings change by the week not at the end of the season...USC lost on the road not at home...florida lost AT HOME!! no excuse. auburn did get screwed in 2004. florida finished ranked 25th in 2003 and the BCS doesnt figure the 25th team so no excuse for SC being left out in 2003 thats why they split the title. Cal (who beat SC in 2003) won just as many games as florida did. bottom line the pac 10 has been left out of 4 title games no excuses.
the BCS has only gotten it right 5 times since its inception....1998 UT vs FSU...1999 FSU vs VT...2003 miami vs ohio state....2005 texas vs USC...2010 bama vs texas.....all the other games are suspect and the system is so bad they had a split title in 2003 the system is supposed to get it right but too many entities are put in it to boost other teams so since the system has a bias its not legit. you want the system right? get rid of the pre season top 25. not to mention utah in 2008.

The Sec has a good chance of going 3-0 against the pac10 this year. In reality it is just about the luck of the matchup in regular season games. If you want real results teams with equal conference standings need to play in bowl games. I don't recall any SEC vs Pac10 bowl games recently, that should change.
Stanford owns a 1-0 record against both Georgia and LSU.LOL. UCLA and Cal beat Tennessee in back to back years, and Oregon destroyed Mis.. Gota respect USC. And this is coming from a major SEC fan. I'd rather respect USC than aOhio State Blackeyes. True they have alota sanctions and prob do pay their players since they are California. (Los Angeles for that matter). But they do have Arkansas (1-0 after moving to SEC and 2005 win was vacated), Auburn (2-1), Georgia (3-0), and tennessee's (4-0) number all-time. Bama (5-2) and Florida (1-0-1) have better head to head against USC while South Carolina and LSU are both tied with USC 1-1.

Arkansas and Auburn were good when USC beat them, but they weren't full championship caliber teams in those years. True enough auburn was #6 when they played, and arkansas went on to win 10 straight and became ironically #6 at the end of the year before losing three straight. I'm from Arkansas, and I was sick about this game when it happened. But looking back, you have to realize that USC was NOT running up the score-they were just that good. It's not running up the score if your second and third string players dominate a weaker team. They can't stop playing; that's insulting to the other team and fans, and they can't do nothing-penalties. They had to play. Frankly it is an impressive game that no amount of sanctions will ever wipe the egg off the face of Arkansas.

the pac 10 has been screwed out of title appearances already...oregon in 2001, USC in 2008...UW in 2000, SC in 2003. so thats 4 title games the pac 10 didnt even get a chance to perform in so we will never know. the SEC can lose AT HOME TO UNRANKED TEAMS AND STILL GO TO THE TITLE GAME!!!!! its called a bias and its called if they make money for the networks and NCAA they will play. If your gonna say all those teams got screwed than you could say that auburn got screwed in 2004. In 2003 LSU was the true national champs not usc you can argue that bc the team sc lost to finished unranked the team lsu lost to finished in the top 25.

you must have forgot...the rankings change by the week not at the end of the season...USC lost on the road not at home...florida lost AT HOME!! no excuse. auburn did get screwed in 2004. florida finished ranked 25th in 2003 and the BCS doesnt figure the 25th team so no excuse for SC being left out in 2003 thats why they split the title. Cal (who beat SC in 2003) won just as many games as florida did. bottom line the pac 10 has been left out of 4 title games no excuses.

the BCS has only gotten it right 5 times since its inception....1998 UT vs FSU...1999 FSU vs VT...2003 miami vs ohio state....2005 texas vs USC...2010 bama vs texas.....all the other games are suspect and the system is so bad they had a split title in 2003 the system is supposed to get it right but too many entities are put in it to boost other teams so since the system has a bias its not legit. you want the system right? get rid of the pre season top 25. not to mention utah in 2008.

dont get me wrong i love college football but its seeming that the only schools that get any love are schools that generate TV money....BYU is going independent and sold all their games to ESPN you will see them all the time now. you cant make money on schools like oregon or arizona because the games come on at 7pm and all the voters are stuck on whos on ESPN.

USC has the name but oregon has won more games than SC has this decade now we all know oregon got screwed out of the title game in 2001 and came one dennis dixon injury from playing for another in 2007 but SC has the name. when you are in LA you can get whoever you want it makes me wonder why SC sucked so bad in the 90s. 3 places that can die and always come back USC, Miami and nebraska...everyone thinks miami is dead but boy are they in for a rude awakening.

Yeah, props to LSU for finally traveling. But again, LSU was 2nd place team in the SEC West against the 7th place team in the Pac-10. And they still had a tight battle. Meanwhile UCLA, the 8th place team in the Pac-10 traveled to Tenn and beat them by the same MOV that ALABAMA had, AT HOME, against the Vols. So congrats the National Champs and SEC champs managed to play as well, at home, against Tenn and the 3-6 in conference Bruins!

The Sec has a good chance of going 3-0 against the pac10 this year. In reality it is just about the luck of the matchup in regular season games. If you want real results teams with equal conference standings need to play in bowl games. I don't recall any SEC vs Pac10 bowl games recently, that should change.

Stanford owns a 1-0 record against both Georgia and LSU.LOL. UCLA and Cal beat Tennessee in back to back years, and Oregon destroyed Mis.. State in back to back years, FUCLA also beat Alabama in 2000 and 2001, and USC beat down Auburn and Arkansas in back to back years, Washington State won AT Tennessee in 1988. LSU should have lost to Oregon State if Serna makes his 4 extra points. The Pac-10 can play with the SEC..
