thank you so much for sharing this video, i started my natural journey october 2010, and its been rough but i am determined to stay strong and keep holdn on. your video was an inspiration to me
Hey everybody...theres a website that sells organic oils and stuff to help keep your hair skin and body healthy at a cheap price. iherb.com! if you type in this code POH823 during checkout, you get $5 off your first purchase!
DAMNN! every time i try straightening my hair.. its still ugly.. but yours looks soo BEAUTIFUL!! and your length is just beautiful! LIKE I'M NOT EVEN FULL BLACK ND YOUR HAIR TOPS MINE IN AN INSTANT! GOREGUSSS!
Your hair is very long and it looks very healthy to be natural. I wish I was brave enough to go natural but I don't think I have it in me. But I have been trying to become more conscious of the ingredients listed in the hair products I use. One in particular I have been reading about is propylene glycol. I must say I won't be using a lot of products I used to because of this ingredient. But I can't find a relaxer that doesn't have it so I briefly considered going natural, but I doubt I will.
"I want to call ya everyday, when I ain't got sh*t to say--This must be love..be love, yeah. Bring you some wings on your lunch break, I'm like, 'Baby how's your day?'-12 piece, fried hard, it's all for youuuu'!
The Foreign Exchange Rocks! Your hair is awe-inspiring Klezibaby88! Fabulous vid!!!
@klezibaby88--You're welcome 8-). I remember when I first heard this song, I nearly choked on the soda I was drinking, trying to stop laughing because that is exactly the way my uncle eats his chicken..."fried hard", lol.
Pretty girl!!! I wish I had had the same luck with my natural hair....but I digress, congradulations to you and many more blessing to retain much more length.
@Candygirl120384 If you notice, the 2008 pic, I still have a lot of color in my hair. It was very damaged. In 2009, a lot of it got cut off, which helped me retain more length and not have such frizzled ends.
@chibibby It depends.. Genetics does play a part in how long our hair grows (terminal length), but you should first asses why your parents' hair is short. Is their hair short because of genetics or is it short because they chemically treat it, bad diet, illness, bad maintenence, etc.. If its one of the latter, you shouldnt have a problem if you correct the issue. And even if it is a genetic thing, you might not necessarily suffer from it. My point is, try. All you can do is try hun :)
@dippmeinGUCCi4 I left my hair alone.. I would put it in two strand twists and leave it be until it was time to redo them. No heat. No extensive styling. Just keep it moisturized.
From what I was told, genetics determine the hair texture and how FAST your hair grows; it has very little to do with how LONG your hair can get. All hair grows; the problem with super curly hair is that it can get really dry and with too much manipulation, this hair type can break off, giving the illusion that it is not growing. Hair is ALWAYS growing; it's how you MAINTAIN your ends! Another reason why afro hair texture gives off the illusion that it is not growing is because of shrinkage.
You do have very pretty hair and I'm glad you stuck it out, I'm about to go natural and I will stick it out just like you, thanks for your video.. Peace
@klezibaby88 One main question in your opinion do you think i should grow it out or cut it? I really don't have an issue with cutting it, I just won't be able to wear it in a style? Can you tell me a few things you've used in your hair for moisture and shampoos and conditioners? thanks. Peace
@jhonnetta Until you cut it, twist outs are a fun way to wear your hair during and after your transitioning period.
Shea butter and olive oil are my staples. I use Creme of Nature Shampoo and when I wash my hair, I leave the conditioner in. Thats about it. Hope that helps.
@klezibaby88 Thanks for your tips, did you curl your hair during the transition period? Ok that's all I'll let you know how i'm doing in another month.. Thanks and Happy new years.Peace
@thickcocogrl79 Thank you so much - Ill be putting out a new journey video pretty soon hopefully. So stay tuned. And you know they just put out a new album last month?!
@klezibaby88 btw I have your video posted along with a few others. The topic is about inspiring hair journey vids. I am a long time natural who is recovering from heat damage and gave up the heat completely for the next year. I invite you to check out my blog and channel. Stay blessed.
@browniefulful Hey there browniefulful, the entire purpose of this vid is to promote natural hair growth. This video represents my personal 3.5-4yr journey of no longer using chemical relaxers in my hair. Anywhere you see my hair straight, it was done with heat. Hope that helps :)
Ohhh My Goshhhhh ... girl your hair is OH SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
My hair is pretty short, and it falls out a lot! People tell me to cut it ... and let it grow out! I have relaxed my hair a lot, but now it just wonr grow any more!
SO what did you do??? did you just cut it and let it grow on its own???
@krystale16vanessa I transitioned for a couple of months before I cut off the relaxed ends, and the after that - yea, I just let it grow and do its own thing. While my hair was relaxed, it never got past shoulder length, and now 4 years later its down my back. It takes a lot of work and effort.. And dont let anyone lie to you that its easier than being relaxed, because in most cases, it isnt. You have to stay committed. But in the end, its totally worth it to have a head full of healthy hair.
Hi there. So you B'c'd (Big Chopped) in April 06 but how many months prior to that had you transitioned? Also, what is your hair texture...is it kinky and tightly coiled w/ lots of shrinkage or loosely coiled?
Only reason I ask is due to the fact that there are many youtubers w/ hair growth snapshots. Many of them don't struggle as much w/ the detangling if their curls are 3C vs 4a/b.
@gak2008 Hi there, and thanks for the comment. For your first question.. I dont want to tell you a lie - I do not remember exactly how long I transitioned, but Id like to say it was more than 2 months, less than 6 months.. I had about 2.5 inches of hair when I BC'd.
And in regards to texture, my hair is very kinky and can be very coarse. The issue is that I have up to three textures of hair. But there is NOTHING "3" about my hair lol Most of it is 4B, with areas of 4A and 4C
@gak2008 And I know exactly what you mean. For some reason a lot of the 4's out there arent posting videos and representing for us.. And Im part of the problem because I dont post as often or as detailed as I should.. But please take a look through my vids - like my regimen, and maybe that could help suffice for now. Again thank you so much for leaving a comment, I really appreciate you :)
@phasionist Hi there, if you go to my page you will see that I have a regimen video posted, so please take a look, and hopefully it will help you out <3
Wow your hair looks like fun fun fun!!! lovely! you must give us your regimen! just started myself got a long long way to go! and dont want BC so it'll be even longer... my natural hair is tangly and coley so very scared....
your hair is gorgeous. Im going to start transitioning rite after my wedding that in the next two months and your have been an inspiration . Thank you and keep it up I think natural hair is beautiful.
@JZEIK Hi there, I have a video regarding my regimen, and I will have another one posted once I get some free time. But basically I have a sort of "hands-off" approach to my hair.. I put in two-strand twists usually, and leave them alone. But watch the link for a more detailed description :)
i lovee yur vids... im 16 and been on my hair journey ffor almost two years... and im getin a lil impatient what can i do to get more hair growth cuz i only grew 5-6 inches of hair in 1 and a half
But I agree with drdawn86 - Your hair is going to work on its own schedule - You just have to make sure that you are doing everything to promote its growth when its time for a growth spurt.
My biggest piece of advice is to make sure that you are drinking enough water. Lay off the sodas and fake drinks.
@wwhitney30 Honey thats about average...EVERYONE..even whites, asians, hispanics grow on average 1/2 inch of hair every month..add that up that's about 6-9 inches of growth...that's if it's properly conditioned and taken care of course
Something in your technique is wrong. Hair grows at least half inch a month. so 6 inches would be grown in one year at least. probably you are not giving your hair enough moisture or even deep conditioning it -- something.check out kimmaytube's videos probably that would help. The lady who did it used a blow dryer, a straightening comb, then a flat iron... WAY TOO MUCH HEAT..
I dont think that I had heat damage as in it wont curl. I had damage like.. a bit of breakage at the ends..
This is why I only straighten my hair 1-2 times a year..

Haha - Thank you!
I think that if I ever hit waist length Id dread it or something..
My hair is too much work at the length it is.. I couldnt imagine handling waist length loose hair.. *faints at thought*
