Hello, balletman I got a questions. In my school I sometimes get bullied of some guys, and I tried many options to ignore them. But none of them haved workt. What should I do
well the reason why no one will help the victim is because they dont wanna get suspended. anytime u talk back to the bully that jackass is gonna wanna assault u. then u either have two choices get beat up and humiliated but dont get suspended for kick the shit outta that jerkoff and get suspended. if the school system was more understanding then bullying wouldnt be such a problem.
We didn't have a school bully or gang and other than twice I wasn't physically bullied. I was name called, excluded, laughed at etc. That kind of bullying can be worse coz it can mentally scar you and it's harder to prove. It's also harder to stand up for yourself coz it's hard to deflect or reflect back onto the bully, without becoming 1 yourself.
I was either bullied or completely ignored by almost everyone in my year. I wasn't overly clever, or weak, it was just the done thing, to isolate me.
The sad part is not all Bullies end up in trailer parks and beat down by life as this video suggests. Many of them grow up to be very rich successful business people who got where they are because they are assertive and aren't afraid to step all over people.
This guy shouldn't be giving advice on bullying. He has some good advice but he still doesn't get why he was picked on in the first place. When someone calls bullies jerks in a video about how not to get bullied, it's time to look for another video. It's like learning fire safety from an arsonist.
To the maker of this video I say well done please continue this. I was bullied only a few times at school but aIways would simply confronted them due to the fact I was doing martial arts from an early age so I had confidence in myself, confidence in ones self is an important role in ones life.

Also, just one word of advice, instead of being a "kinda friend" to this kid who keeps getting beaten up, try being a "real friend" and standing up for the guy.
Again, bullies want easy targets. If they see strength in numbers resisting them, they'll be much more likely to back off. If you're afraid to stand up for for your friend, then this bully has already beaten you as well.

Powerful video - I was bullied a lot too. I couldn't use the school cafeteria or washrooms. Fighting back never helped me - I'm really small and it made them laugh.
I'm 45 now and still really little - 130 pounds but I discovered something - I can crawl through the narrowest of cave tunnels. My bullies have pot bellies and can't run up stairs. I've gotten into some amazing caves and seen things they will never see. People don't need to get into caves but as you age you get more options.
That's cool. It brought back some memories of spelunking with one of my ex-girlfriends. She got stuck in one of the narrow openings for about 20 minutes. Poor girl, she cried the whole time.

It is very true, My school use to be know as one of the safe one's know it is know where all the "troubled" students go. Pretty familiar story. I remember being punched, spit on, thrown in garbage cans etc. And when Mom wouldn't let me take karate? I took myself to the local bookstore and read everything I could find until I could finally get into classes. That first moment you realize that you just really aren't scared of the jerk anymore is a pretty good moment.

You can't really do much either since almost all your options are limited and have consequences. I'm lucky because I get to go to a private school were things are kept in order pretty well. my advice is to ignore, avoid and tell. I am picked on by society as an adult for looking 'different'. When it happens I ignore them and avoid getting myself into situations where it could occur. If it ever gets out of hand - I tell. Bullies should be reported to a teacher or to the police.
Emotionally, try hard not to take the bullies' criticisms personally as they pick on anyone who is 'fat, gay, disabled, etc'

Avoid if you can, but never ignore a bully because it makes them worse. Ramsey's right about the fact that they see you as an easy target. It's hard if you really are weaker (in whatever way) and Ramsey's advice on using humour is apt -but make it short, never show you care. Of course I'm all for telling if someone in authority will listen. I'm glad this worked for you. Often it does not, but it's worth a try.

That's very true. I fought back against bullies when i was in school. We were both called into the principal's office and i was treated like i was on the same level as him. But also From the violence and lack of good teaching of respect in the self defense school that are in my town. I work with a lady who use to do Karate in my town, she learned the following...NOTHING! No respect, No proper way of fighting, and not knowing the proper time to walk away. She was 5 I REPEAT 5 when she got a Black belt in Karate, I seriously don't think thats even possible. good vdieo keep up the good work. I shall be spreading this video to everyone I know.

It is very true, My school use to be know as one of the safe one's know it is know where all the "troubled" students go. Seems more like to me either they genuinly don't care or respect about human life or they are just acting the way they have been taught not only by parents, teachers, and freinds ect.

Pretty familiar story. I remember being punched, spit on, thrown in garbage cans etc. And when Mom wouldn't let me take karate? I took myself to the local bookstore and read everything I could find until I could finally get into classes. That first moment you realize that you just really aren't scared of the jerk anymore is a pretty good moment.

bas rutten used to be bullied at a young age. after he went into martial arts and became a champion he attended a high school reunion and challenged his tormentors to a fight. i bet he's not bullied anymore, lol

Bullying is a sad thing. I look at it nowadays as almost a type of guerrilla warfare if you know what I mean. You can't really do much either since almost all your options are limited and have consequences. I'm lucky because I get to go to a private school were things are kept in order pretty well. There so much I can say on this topic but I'm just gonna keep it at this for now. Thanks for making these vids.

my advice is to ignore, avoid and tell. I am picked on by society as an adult for looking 'different'. When it happens I ignore them and avoid getting myself into situations where it could occur. If it ever gets out of hand - I tell. Bullies should be reported to a teacher or to the police.
Emotionally, try hard not to take the bullies' criticisms personally as they pick on anyone who is 'fat, gay, disabled, etc'
They are sad people, don't let them make you sad too

Avoid if you can, but never ignore a bully because it makes them worse. Ramsey's right about the fact that they see you as an easy target. It's hard if you really are weaker (in whatever way) and Ramsey's advice on using humour is apt -but make it short, never show you care. Of course I'm all for telling if someone in authority will listen. I'm glad this worked for you. Often it does not, but it's worth a try.

I got into a fight one time at school with this pregnent Peurto Rican slut! She had a baby in her stroller, an one on the way. She called me a dumbass cracker, so I started to Muai Tai kick her in the stomack! Then she screamed "I'm el pregnant", so I STARED TO KIMURA HER WHILE HEAD KICKED HER ON THE GROUND. The Principal expelled her, an I got a GED:)

Yeah she's a slut but the first thing you learn in martial arts is used to stop the fighting.Using martial arts on this girl who isnt threating your life was wrong.Furthermore,she's pregnant.Does her underdeveloped child deserve a kick in the face for the wrong doings of its mother?I think you need to reassess your morals and virtues before using martials are.You bring dishonor to it

That's very true. I fought back against bullies when i was in school. We were both called into the principal's office and i was treated like i was on the same level as him. The system's goal is dehumanization and pacification. In my country, if someone breaks into your home and trips over, he can sue YOU!
