  • Wasn't this on the Tour De Danger last week?

This road section is dangerous enough for cyclists as it is, without having drivers distracted by phones as well.

  • @Cliffjumper24 yes, its is the vauxhall gyratory or "six lanes of cycling hell"

  • What about the cyclist at 0:20. He is asking for close passes from boththe left and right. Surely he should be taking a lane

  • @2rocship Happens all that time here, it's a very busy gyratory and lots of cyclists will ride the line and just take close passes all day long. Very dangerous!

  • @CycleGaz He would probably normally ride in the gutter if he were in the left hand lane. In the clip he is sort of riding in an imaginary gutter in the third lane

  • @CycleGaz Vauxhall X is the certainly the low-point of my commute...As Boris (now infamously) said "you need to have your wits about you!"

  • @2rocship yes, you definitely should be taking primary here. There are different traffic light sequences at the junction so you get stationary traffic in the middle lane(s) and fast moving traffic in the nearside lane(s).

Some drivers are still baffled by this though. I get a lot of comments saying "you should ride next to the kerb" which is pretty difficult when you are in lane 3 of 6!

  • Could have sworn I've seen that plate before, doing something they shouldn't on the roads? If I did it wasn't bad enough to upload, clearly.
