  • sexiest band alive!!!! and the best music..what more can i want?

  • i wish i was the air that he was humping at 3:19 lol Jules <33

  • ajaja the little eyebrow thing julian does

  • The best band ever

  • The Strokes : Is this it?

Me : of course, THIS IS IT

    the end (has no end)

  • Good lord, how I wish I was there

  • Awesome, first song I learn on Bass also!

  • every person interested in music knows the influence of the strokes in the music of this decade, but the not exploded as nirvana. They didnt take the world. I was referring t that. In the future they wil be remembered more like the velvet underground than the beatles you know? Everybody knows the importance of the velvet but no everybody knows them

  • @hungerstriker27 still disagree tho pal.i'd say anyone VAGUELY interested in music knows the strokes very well.Critical darlings fro the start, they surely have been mainstreamed, indicative by the myriad awards and concerts theyve headlined.Comparing to the VU isnt that apt either, the VU werent recognized during their time, not the case for the strokes.Their 1st was lauded immediately speculations about its impact has only been validated by landing on countless critics BEST of the decade lists...

  • @hungerstriker27 anytime a band is vaguely known by passive music fans, theyre mainstream. there will be no mystery u think there will about the Strokes being an unappreciated genius, critics know it AND people(by virtue of the Strokes' expansive name recognition) know it.

Nirvana has had time to grow, and kurts tragic legend has only helped...the strokes' reach is huge, theyre an international band despite not having the scandalous end of Nirvana.

Strokes took the world&did it in their prime.

  • @carlo88moe

yes, they took the world. But despite it´s obvious influence in all the upcoming bands, not everybody knows them. Every musician of this decade knows them, I don´t argue that.

  • maybe they´ll never exploded and became massive, but for me, the strokes were one of the finest and more influential bands of the 2000 decade. Is this it it´s pure genious. One of the best bands 2000´s bands ever.

  • i love how julian is singing on the floor 3:07 <3 lol =)

  • 4 people don't live in the modern age.

  • So happy I was there and now Im seeing them in Vegas in March!

  • @onevato

    no way, you were there??

    get outta here

  • COOL

  • lol..fab throw his drumsticks at the end 4:00

  • Comment removed

  • i like when hes on the floor

  • -+-

  • The strokes play best when drunk :)

Its funny how Julian dropps to the ground, shakes, Slightly convulses and everyone simply smiled and continues to enjoy it as if it were normal. Which it is, on the Strokes, if it were any other band, the paramedics would have been called...

  • I LOVE this song.

  • julian looks so bored at the start... but you're allowed to when you're performing some of the best pop songs ever!!

  • @ChimpDotCom pop? this is rock..real rock!

  • Haha I love this song. But I didn't have the money to see them last month D:

  • that chick under the symbol at the beginning is hot~

  • i can't wait for the new album

just an all around great band

a hand full of bands like these come out in a life time

  • they should release this on dvd!!

  • he is showing his verstatility

  • Julian has changed in that time to what is now, now doing songs with electronica. I do not really like the song "11th Dimension" I find it very pop

  • @chegas08 well indie is like a step away from pop, and thats a fact

  • @chegas08 Yeah I did too at first. When I heard 11th dimension I was like what the fuuuuuuuuuuck is this?! But then I got into the lyrics of that song and that made me like it

  • @elpollococo Yeah!!! i also did it!! and now , i dance and sing "11th dmension" with all my heart

  • @chegas08 me tooo!

  • fab looks hell cool playing the drums at the start of the song

  • lo mejorrrrrrrrrr¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

    nice nicenice

  • i really just want to get up and dance every time i hear their songs!

  • i like this song to get drunk lol

  • lol at the begining,it looks like Fab has Julians Vvoice "im ready too budy" he moves his lips...

Brilliant song, all the strokes first album songs are classy!!

  • launching the strokes new album..is one of the fantastic moment in 2010..i cant wait anymore!!

  • let's hope it's better than first impressions. If it's as good as room on fire it will be the album of the year. If its as good as is this it it'll be album of the decade. That would be cool.

  • first impressions was amazing... so is room on fire and is this it, they are jsut different.

  • na first impressions was good (like 7/10)

the strokes sounded too much like one of their indie schmindie clones. Is this it had a unique sound, and room on fire just had really cool song ideas.

    Thats what i think anyway

  • all strokes albums are fucking awesome, the strokes are one of the beste bands of this decade....

  • yep, when bullshit music is punishing my ears..., like gaga shit and that stuff, like jonas sisters....

  • @incubusUPN hahhahahahahaaaaaa

  • This songs sounds as if it was inspired by the early KoL stuff. Not sure if anyone else would agree.

  • not at all. its the other way around. Is This It came out in 2001, when KOL's first EP came out in 2003. KOL also used to be called the "Southern Strokes" for a time, that is until they became a shit band that looks like Creed and Nickelback in their videos.

  • Well I guess that's a good thing then. But I sense a hint of injustice, as The Strokes are highly underrated, and kind of forgotten about by the media and people, other then their actual fans. I just hope their latest album project turns out as good as "Is This It", as I'm sure it'll be enough to revitalise their career as talented musicians.

  • hmmm i stil think the british media holds them in high regard..... i hope it goes back to as good as "Is This It". Noth that the other two albums where rubbish (i loved the other two) but i do think they have went down slightly each album

  • Well in the ''best of the Noughties (or '00s)''-lists they are still rated pretty high. Their Is This It kick-started a kind of indie-rockrevolution, and they're still praised for that.

  • @Reint25

It's just that I haven't heard/seen anything "The Strokes" related for the past 3/4 years. I just hope this means they are working hard on their 4th album.

  • Well, I don't know exactly what you call Strokes-related, but:

Alber Hammond, Jr. - Yours To Keep

    (2006), ¿Cómo Te Llama? (2008)

Little Joy [Fabrizio Moretti] - Little Joy

    (2008)

Nickel Eye [Nikolai Fraiture] - The Time of the Assassins (2009)

Julian Casablancas - Phrazes for the Young (2009)

They are working on a new Strokes one, too.

  • @Reint25

Lul, oh shit. I knew about Julian's solo project, but nothing about the other members of the band.

BTW, I was talking about "The Strokes" as a band, not the individuals in the band. But thanks for actually replying, and informing me.

  • They're playing at Isle of Wight in June, so you can bet that their new album will be out around then.

  • @gtyler7292

Cool, I'll check that shit out.

  • @DeadPixel00 yea..they started all this, they opened the doors for all these new bands like arctic monkeys, kings of leon, franz ferdinand, the killers, etc. nd they're just forgotten. they should get more recognition than all these bands first of all cuz they're better than them, they' started this whole garage rock thing and they all just followed, without them they wouldn't have made it, and they influenced most of them

  • well, seeing as the strokes invented the kings of leon, i dont think they got their song inspiration from a band that hadn't existed yet

  • great song!!!

  • Their songs make me feel so many emotions

  • eles são FODAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • not epic, but COLOSSAL

  • today is julians birthday!!!

  • the urgency of this song.....and the incendiary effect.....and it's melancholy.....

  • haha you want to drink when you listen to the strokes! I think thats very funny ;-) youre funny.

  • I just wanna get drunk!! when I listen to the strokes!! ffucckinnn yeaaaahhh!!!!...right noow I just started drinkin....cheers!!!

  • They are just all on the same page and many hours of practice.

  • can someone tell me the name of this show/preformance its so effing good all of it im sure it can be downloaded whole and in better quality somewhere.. anyone?

  • is this like their first performance in front of a big audience or something?

they seem a bit inexperienced compared to their more recent performances

i mean like they keep asking each other when to start and stuff like that...it also occurred in some other videos of this performance

    anyways, doesn't matter

as long as the music sounds good

    and this sounds great :D

  • i will never get tired of this video

  • Also it's pretty obvious he's drunk.

  • i love nick's solo soooooooooooo good

  • I know, absolutely amazing, I can't master the middle part of it

  • hahaha julian is THE man:P hahah, 3:11 and 3:39 the wink, he is sexy i must admit.

    great music:O

  • ahhhh

    3:11

    :P

  • yeah i like it a little faster

there seriously is something in this music i cant put my finger on. its holy.

  • I love the Strokes i think anyone could listen to them and bob their head and smile its so rad :)

  • Good stuff, but I prefer the upbeat version of the studio one.

Julian looked bored. The hassle of the touring musician: playing the same damn songs every night.

  • Haha yea but Julian always looks bored so...

  • you couldn't be more wrong..this was very early into their is this it album..

  • dude......can u try to understand???? meet me in the bathroom, you talk too much n some others are early strokes songs that came along the same time as is this it, onky they didn't make it into the album until room on fire

  • lol, it's called writing on the road. they said they debuted between love and hate and meet me in the bathroom since they were ready, why the hell would they play two songs from ROF if it was an ROF tour...my god

  • this was in february 2002, is this it came out september 2001....

  • Love the harmony and melody on that chorus!

  • omg! 3:39 ; DD! that was so sexy. ; P Jules make me rock!

  • omg julian is so sexy!

  • funny :D

  • Nick's guitar solo in this one is just ace

  • the thing is its so easy to play too

  • kick ass :)

  • lol i love them they're so funny...nick is all dancy and jules is going crazy...i hope i see them live one day..thanks for putting this up ^_^

  • @NicksReptillia they're wasted bra!
