@ohiknow You don't want to do that when you can avoid it but if you absolutely cannot help it then you do it. The goal is to cross and use whatever lane has the least amount of traffic (normally side streets not main roads). You can tell from the video that main he is on is too busy to have gone into the lane on his left in the beginning. On the sidestreet he went over as far as he had to in order to clear with his rear trailer axle, which is OK as long as you make sure that lane is empty.
@nullx86 I believe he needed to cross the turn lane of oncoming traffic on the sidestreet in order to clear with his rear-most axle. If cars were in that lane there is nothing you can do but wait, even if that means blocking up some of the intersection during a light change.
What makes you think it's ok for you to use oncoming turn lane?
