I'm so glad I found out about the Socom 2HD talk just a few months ago. Because I see this video has been posted in 2010 and the game is still not here. It would have been driving me crazy if I new about it for so long. I'm fiending so bad for S2 last couple of months it's not even funny anymore lol. Worst thing is .. they'll probably never make it.

I hear you,man.I went back to Socom 2 just yesterday,had a helluva time.I was getting owned left an right by my rustiness,but it was nostalgic,fun,and most of all tactical.While I enjoy CoD,Halo,and all the new hipster games out there today,they just don't capture the feel,the look,the gameplay,and the idea that Socom 2 tried and succeeded in distributing.The least they could have done is not completely debauch Crossroads in Confrontation.Anyhoo,to put it simply,you got the right idea.

Here's what happened in 500 characters..S3 was built..Sony needed hot game for PSP, took good programmers for FTB..invested/wasted time Sony thought PSP was the future..then after FTB dev's starting leaving...look at MW...lead character guy was from S2, etc. hardly anybody good devs were left, and made confrontation and S4...and the rest is history..If you take the starting team away from the Patriots (input any good team) they don't play well.

Your right man. Socom 2 hd does need to happen. I mean socom 4 is not socom..... Since when does socom have a main character and a story line???? It just stupid. Every other socom was all about teamwork and the mission. Then confrontation came along and the game became a run and gunner game full of nonsense where people "are going to rush eachother". Ya go try doing that in real life. See what happens. But anyways. The franchise needs to get back on course.

yo my dude, like you said, give the old dogs their bone. I already voted for this and i wanna point one thing out. Us old time vets of socom are outnumbered. Meaning back when socom 1 2 and 3 were popular online was just starting, and about 3/4 of the people online today never experienced what we did years back. I got on that when i was like 12 or so. I had to leave playstation and go to xbox cause of how bad socom progressed. We might get a remasterization when socom 4 gets horrible feedback.

I never understood why they didn't do this. Making SOCOM 2 HD makes the most sense. SOCOM 2 was the last shooter where there was a true interactive community. People communicated and cooperated with each other and if you didn't, you got voted off. You don't have that with Call of Duty where 75% of the people don't even bother putting on their damn headsets and most of those that do don't say anything worthwhile.

It had everything in it from S2 but better b/c the map fog is gone, player custimization, gun customization, faster play, equal music, more weapons, more maps, big & small maps, vehicles if you liked Convoy, more game modes. . . It was the ultimate Socom! The only bad thing was the lack of blood but oh well! It was incredible! I loved S2 also, but CA was better!!!
