  • This is like 120p.

  • I have to admit, the prospect of even seeing this movie initially creeped me out, but everyone from Ebert & Roeper to Howard Stern raved about it. I may just have to toughen up and watch it for myself. Lee Daniels is a great director, that's for sure.

  • Esiste in italiano?

  • Amazing Movie.

  • @LIVEMeltdown4ROCK "I don't care how "sorry" these freaks are - the moment anyone so much as thinks that way is the moment they've signrd their own death warrent! Round them up and kill them all! they are worse than Nazis and Terrorists combined!"

Do you think you would be sticking to this same position if the gender roles were reversed?? No you wouldn't, if this had been a 26 year old female teacher pursuing a sexual relationship with a 13 year old boy, you would not have a problem with it.

  • I'm sorry there is nothing wrong with this Charactor that Kevin Bacon is playing in this movie, he seems to like underage 12 year old girls which its ok in my book since our double standard culture allows older females to have sex with minors and then call it a "love affair"

But if a grownman has sex with a minor, everyone freaks out and call it rape and pedophilia, this is hypocrisy and adouble standard at its finest that needs to be repelled

  • Does anyone who has seen the movie, know the song that was playing when Walter meets his sister?

  • i bet he molested some kids. Eve won an award for this movie as Best Actress

  • Did anyone notice the Woodsman is the character who saves Little Red Riding Hood from the wolf? Do you think this is a metaphor for the duality that exists within the main character? Both sexual predator and hero, fighting against one-another in an internal psychological battle?

  • @Murdamuffin no fuckin shit the woodsman is the character who saves little red riding hood. Mos def has a whole fuckin scene about that.

  • I wouldn't mind being molested by Kevin Bacon

  • @ThePonsor911 although you just meant to be funny, please stay away from jokes like that in an area like this one. it might just hurt more people than you think.

  • @ThePonsor911 Kevin bacon playing a child molestor in this movie isn't anything wrong, after all this should be made a love story. Thats what they do whenever there is a female teacher sex scandal with a minor having sex. There cannot be a double standard, either we punish both male and female predators or we flatout don't punish neither genders to be fair.

  • @travpoet - assuming someone you have never met hasn't experienced what you are indicating is pretty insular. Despite my childhood of abuse and violence, I hold steadfast to my stated opinion. I don't let my anger and hurt from such experiences fuel any base desires such as mob hatred or eye-for-an-eye justice. Violence begets violence...it is not and never will be the solution.

  • First off, amazing movie. I'm angry about a couple things though. Not the movie itself, it's nearly flawless. my problem is that Kevin Bacon was totally snubbed by the academy. How was he not nominated for this? Really? What's even worse is Kevin Bacon has NEVER been nominated for an oscar. I don't get how an actor this good doesnt even have an oscar nomination (at the very least)

  • @Themanwhoisabadass Hollywood REALLY fucked up by not giving him the oscar!!! 99.9% of actors would NEVER even have the balls to play the role!!

  • @9timm9 "Hollywood REALLY fucked up by not giving him the oscar!!! 99.9% of actors would NEVER even have the balls to play the role!!"

I don't see how anybody wouldn't have the balls to play a child molestor in a movie when nobody seems to have a problem with it whenever a female school teacher in her 20's and 30's is out having multiple repeated sex with a minor. And whenever a female teacher has sex with a student, everyone claims it to be a love story while she gets media coverage.

  • 5stars...

  • Could someone upload more clips from this movie?

  • Quite possibly the BRAVEST performance in cinema HISTORY...

  • @9timm9

I agree, I recommend this film to many people when having a pedo mob hatred debate. It really changed my views...I used to have the 'cut off their balls and leave em all on an island" mentality. Not after this film though.

  • @Murdamuffin There is some hope / intelligence out there after all, LOL!

  • @Murdamuffin - if your childhood was like mine, you wouldn't say that. Easy to say when it hasn't happened to you.

  • I never thought I would feel sympathy for a Paedophile but then I watched this film. This film has instantly become one of my favourite movies of all time, Kevin Bacon was marvellous in this film and should have received a reward for this. Paedophilia can often be classified as a disease and I think this film justifies that. It's one of those movies that will sit in the back of your mind for weeks on end..

  • @OceanicMetal

Because some men with a foot fetish prey upon sleeping girls or kidnap them off the street and rape their feet. Point is..a fetish is a fetish. It's the individual that acts it out that separates themselves from the flock. I'd certainly agree when a pedophilia fetish is acted out, then more harm is caused than another one, but the point remains there could be millions that don't act it out, but that one that does causes you and others to say "kill them all".

  • @OceanicMetal

And I'd fully agree. My stance is firmly on those who haven't done anything. I called it a witch hunt because it's drenched in paranoia and "thought crime". People act as if a pedophilia fetish is a guarantee that the person will act on it eventually. This simply isn't true. For those that do act on it..by all means, maim and slaughter away.

  • @OceanicMetal

And when does it stop? Why not target foot fetishists as well? Or how about all sexually charged people in general? Since, after all, the only thing preventing a pedophile from molesting a child is the same willpower that prevents any normal guy from raping a woman. There's a lot more pedophiles out there than you seem to realize, and the vast majority never act on their desires in any form at all.

  • @OceanicMetal

The problem with that is you're not talking about someone who catches some disease and will then transmit that to everyone around him or her. Psychologically speaking, if we could decipher why a fetish develops and then mold an adolescent to prevent that fetish from developing, then I'm sure we'd do it. The issue is this is a human being. A human being who doesn't choose his or her fetishes, and until they act it out are 100% innocent. There's no certainty a pedophile wil act

  • @OceanicMetal

How very Salem of you. No, I am not. I am, however, educated and understand that a fetish is a fetish. Yes a pedophile "wants to" touch children just as a man with a serious hair fetish will "want to" touch and caress hair, but it does not mean the pedophile will actually do it. So again, I am not perverted but I do believe in innocent until actually guilty of something and I do not believe in witch hunts.

  • @OceanicMetal

You're extremely ignorant. I understand the hatred against someone who touches a child, but what about those who don't, but want to? Pedophilia is a fetish. This film attempts to portray it for what it is. It's not meant to support pedophilia; it's meant to show that a pedophile is a person with a fetish they CAN NOT CONTROL. And mind you, by "control" I mean they can not control having the fetish, and most certainly I do not mean can not control their actions around it

  • pedos are people.

  • @LIVEMeltdown4ROCK saying all pedos are a risk to children and rape and stalk children is like saying that all straight men are a risk to women and they all rape and stalk women.

  • The best film I've seen in many years.

    Touching, disturbing and sad.

  • This film was brilliant! kudos to KB for even taking this part on, takes guts to even deal with this kind of subject. An actor of actors, love Kevin Bacon

  • @atlasshrugged2u He paid for it in part!

  • @raoulthompson how so? did he get flack or something.

  • @atlasshrugged2u "This film was brilliant! kudos to KB for even taking this part on, takes guts to even deal with this kind of subject. An actor of actors, love Kevin Bacon"

I don't think it takes guts for someone like Kevin Bacon to play a child molestor in this movie. You wanna know why?? For the same reason why Nichole Kidman didn't have a problem playing a female child molestor in that one movie of hers where she had sex with a teen boy. There cannot be a double standard

  • @MultiManmade You didn't get my point. I don't care about Nicole Kidman and what she did. K.B. is a hell of an actor and this movie was not recieved well at all, but the subject needed to be addressed and it was offered to alot of actors who turned it down...he an his wife took it on and had peope look at it from the child molesters point of view. It was an excellent movie and he was brave to take the role.

  • this movie was filmed in the park across the street from my house

  • Whats the name of the song starting 00:25. Its in the intro for the film as well.

  • Many focus on the taboo of pedophilia. clever piece of acting from Kevin Bacon. Another side of the story through the eyes of Walter...

  • I hate pedophiles and I think they should be punished badly for what they've done and sent away from civilization. But this movie is great. It shows clearly, that also pedophiles can retain themselves from doing those horrible things to children, only for their pleasure. Kevin Bacon did a great job in this movie.

But I can't find theme song anywhere. Do you know where I can find it? :/

  • @vers111 Hey its called At the fairground. Check the sountrack for this film. I have no clue how to get it, I think its owned by Opus 1 Music. Good luck, let me know if you get it. Thanks.

  • this film was produced by Lee Daniels who BTW directed Precious and Shadowboxer, produced Monster's Ball and Tennessee, so you know there's a like a real world connection in this film and that's what made this film as well as all his other films great

  • This is not a bleeding-heart "feel sorry for the criminal" movie...good thing i found this movie online at

    EasyMediaClick (dot) com

  • amazing film. i love seeing the shades of gray in a world of black and white.

  • Great comment. That's exactly it.

  • @SaraHalpertxoxo Agreed, most people are too lazy / close-minded to attempt to...

  • Pedophilia! understanding that adults enjoy having intercourse or molesting children.... umm questionable.. there is no cure or justification for this sort of behavior. Pedophilia is a crime... and should be punished as such...Forgiving the perpetrator is up to the victim not the relatives or friends... forgiveness is key to a life of peace, but only the child can do that since only the child was there to suffer the pain, the shame and the humiliation and depravity these people did to them.

  • It is a state of mind though, its like you or me wanting to have sex with our girlfriend/boyfriend, the physical attraction is the same, its a mental illness and you have to feel sorry for these people. Usually they will know they have the problem for years and fight it eventually giving in, although granted those who know about their issue should seek professional help, but sometimes its just not enough.

  • @CandlesInADaze would u want to go to a doctor and say, im a pedophile, i love children sexually?

  • @acejacko23 If I felt that way about children It would be a far better thing to seek help than to hurt a child. So yes, I would.

  • @ladyteora ". Pedophilia is a crime... and should be punished as such...Forgiving the perpetrator is up to the victim not the relatives or friends..."

Oh waite a minute here, how is this a crime that this man in this movie is attracted to underage girls?? For the same exact reason why nobody see's it as a crime or s sign of rape when a 34 year old female school teacher by the name of Mary Kay Letourneau was having sex with a 13 year old male student named Vili Fallau

  • The best part of the movie is when Kevin Bacon beats up the nonce towards the end. And Mos Def knows he did it but lets him go : )

  • Also the scene where he doesn't give in to the temptation and manages to overcome it...then beats the shit out of that asshole.

  • It is a fucking CRIME that Kevin Bacon was not nominated for Best Actor for this performance!!! I cannot believe that ultra-liberal Hollywood could not make that happen!! Even THEY were scared of the subject matter!! I have a great friend who made the mistake of having a sexual relationship with a 15 yr old female, he did 10 yrs probation, got his Bachelor's Degree in that time & now makes over $100,000 a yr. He has proven himself REPEATEDLY, yet STILL has to register for life! PATHETIC!!

  • @9timm9 How old was he at the time?

  • @EmoraChan13 He was 32-33...he realized the hard way that he had a weakness & did not stop her advances toward him because at the time, he had the emotional maturity (in some ways) of a teenager himself. This is a REAL psychological issue in the world & NOT something that is BLACK & WHITE! Unfortunately, some people with this condition cannot & will not ever be able to control themselves, BUT this friend of mine is a PRIME EXAMPLE of somebody who made a mistake & has PROVEN himself.

  • @9timm9 I wasn't going to bash your friend. o.o I understand that for some, it is beyond attraction, abuse, and/or maturity.

  • @EmoraChan13 In addition (for what it's worth), a "PEDOPHILE" is medically diagnosed as sombody who EXCLUSIVELY has a sexual interest in people aged 13 and under...which would definitely disqualify my friend from ever being described with that term...

  • @9timm9 "It is a fucking CRIME that Kevin Bacon was not nominated for Best Actor for this performance!!! "

Amen to that and your right about that, lets also not forget something that Nichole Kidman played a female child molestor in that movie having sex with a teenage boy and nobody freaked out about that. It was veiwed as a love story rather than pedophilia. But yet when its Kevin Bacon playing a role of a pedophile , everyone freaks out and thinks its rape. Give me a f_cking break

  • This looks like an amazing movie.

  • To dignam419 - The point here is not to excuse pedophilia as something we should accept or tolerate, but it is important to realize pedophiles are people who (in most cases) have real issues that cannot be overcome as a result of others hating, or abusing them. If you wish to help combat the consequences of pedophilia, I suggest first taking a real interest in understanding it, rather than simply being angry.

  • Great post, and yes I get emotionally involved when talking about pedophilia.

I also realize that the people have deep rooted issues. It just seems to me that this dark and evil act should not be excused because of their past.

  • Just because we know the cause does not excuse the effect.

  • I love this film, it's one of my favorites.

  • @playidd76 best drama ever, i love drama, nice and relaxed and actually means something.

  • Great film, and if her performance here is any indication, Hannah Pilkes is destined for great things.

  • i'm not gonna comment on political views and crap, i'm gonna coment on how gd the film looks. i really wanna see it!! i love kevin bacon =)

  • footloose

  • One of the best films in the last few years! Amazing acting, Highly recommended! Go rent it today.

  • I want to watch this does anyone have it or know where to see it?

  • the internet.

    use it.

  • Kevin Bacon got screwed. I've never thought of him as more than an average to decent actor, but he was absolutely phenomenal in this. That's a crime that he wasn't nominated for best actor.

  • @smoke117 "Kevin Bacon got screwed. I've never thought of him as more than an average to decent actor, but he was absolutely phenomenal in this. That's a crime that he wasn't nominated for best actor."

If this had been Sarah Jessica Parker or Denise Richards playing this part as a child molestor having sex with 13 year old boys in this movie the woodsman, Guarantee she wouldn't have gotten screwed and nobody would have looked at this as rape or pedophilia. Its a double standard.

  • locking them up has no effect other than a false sense of security and capital punishment is just vengeance which gets you nowhere in life I'm not saying I have sympathy for what they do but to stop them doing it you need to get to the root of the problem kill them and jailing them isn't solving the problem not one little bit

  • This looks like a movie that would piss me off. Hard Candy was freaking AWESOME. I hope it ends like that movie.

  • i actually feel sorry for people who are attracted to little kids because

    its not their fault.

    kinda like gay people.

  • me too as long as they dont practice their fantasies..because unlike gayness, pedophilia can hurt people

  • @BornToDie90 gayness can, anul sex must hurt.

  • i understand where you're comming from but i still disagree but i know what you mean.

  • The gay issue? What gay issue?

  • i think it comes from the fact that christians belive that like God, we need to forgive evryone

  • Your an idiot.

  • how, i was raised christian so i know. ive been going to catholic school all my life so....

  • It's nothing to do with 'Christianity' believing that everyone shall be forgiven that society is letting so many people off, if anything Christians are seen as more right and radical now days. If anyone is to blame it is definitely the liberals - who are usually atheist.

  • @CandlesInADaze u are retarded arent you? liberals and fucking politics. it istn the party its the fucking man leading the party. if ur sick of ur stinking american goverment, join the military then become a politition yourself. but the truth is not one fucking political leader is good. they are all cunts. and just to let you know American goverment today is like the old soviet communist union.

invade some poor 3rd world country, make al ie that they have nuclear weapons and drain em of oil

  • @ditdatdot I'm not the one who can't spell. So don't call me fucking retarded. I'm not American either, you tit.

  • that was possibly the dumbest youtube comment i ever read. and i fucking read every comment under every "cute kitteh" video

you have absolutely no fucking idea how fucking stupid you are.

  • retard

  • Gay? He is attracted to little GIRLS.

People always assume that pedofiles like boys, with no proof behind it. In my eyes that only seems to be an excuse to say that gay people are pedophiles and rapists.

  • @Sniibul You have topsy turvy logic. Peadophilia has nothing to do with sexuality.

  • @PrivateAckbar I don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about. I wrote that comment 2 years ago. I never claimed that peadophilia has to do with sexuality. What I'm guessing I was trying to say was that he was attracted to little girls - as an answer to someone who called the movie's protagonist gay. As in, you can be gay and a pedophile, but not all pedophiles are gay. Which the woodsman isn't (gay, I mean).

  • @Sniibul You were arguing that the people who assume paedophiles like boys are being homophobic in some way. I'm telling you that those people know more than you. Paedophilia has nothing to do with sexuality. It isn't an attraction to a sex, it's an attraction to children. Do you understand now? A paedophiles attraction to children isn't gay or straight.

  • @PrivateAckbar What I meant was that a pedophile can still have sex-oriented preferences. That is backed up by the World Health Organization. "Paedophilia: A sexual preference for children, boys or girls or both, usually of prepubertal or early pubertal age. " Unless I misread it. Google it.

  • @Sniibul That quote you just used backs up my argument. If you can't see that you probably are misreading it. Do you at least see now that when a movie depicts paedophiles as attracted to boys, it isn't homophobic?

  • @PrivateAckbar I don't know where I said that a pedophile can't be attracted to boys. I was saying that NOT ALL pedophiles might like boys. Or is that wrong as well? I am done with this discussion now.

  • @Sniibul I don't know why you're getting upset. If you thought 2+2=5 and I told you it was 4 would you be angry?

  • @Sniibul If our culture doesn't think its wrong or sexually perverted that those infamous female pedophile school teachers like Mary Kay Letourneau, Debra Lafave and Pamela Rogers have repeated sex with their prepubesant male students, then it can't be wrong if an older man wants to have sex with 13 year old girls or 13 year old boys.

It cannot be one-sided or a double standard, if we aren't gonna punish female predators, then its only fair we don't punish male predators as well.

  • @MultiManmade Nothing I have said was related to what you just said. My personal opinion though: all pedophiles are pedophiles, females as well as male. There is no difference. Don't give a fuck what your culture thinks. That's my opinion. Now leave me the fuck alone.

  • @PrivateAckbar "It isn't an attraction to a sex, it's an attraction to children. Do you understand now? A paedophiles attraction to children isn't gay or straight."

Ok but thats not the same arguement that people have whenever its a female teacher in a sexual relationship with a 13 year old male student. When a 25 year old female is having sex with a 13 year old male student, nobody calls it pedophilia or rape, they call it a love story. But its never the case with a grownman.

  • @Sniibul You really don't understand this. You say you "never claimed that paedophilia has to do with sexuality" then you do it again in the same paragraph. When you try to use logic to say that "not all paedophiles are gay" you're connecting sexuality with peadophilia. The attraction to children has nothing to do with their sex.

  • @PrivateAckbar Fine, you know what? I was only expressing an opinion. In what way can you back up what you are saying? Yes, pedophilia by definition is attraction to children. It is not known as a sexuality. I am separating the two in the same way I would separate a persons fetish for elderly people (although fetishes and pedophilia are of course not the same) from their sexuality.

  • Yes, I get heated when talking about pedophilia. In my opinion it is the most gruesome act that can be comitted next to murder.

I just do not think that saying "It is not their fault" is the answer, as I stated above. I would like to know who's fault it is. Is it the victims?

As far as the gay issue original post was something about how pedophiles and gays have no control over what they are. I did not want to adress the gay issue so I tried to isolate the pedophile issue.

  • @Jarederaj "i actually feel sorry for people who are attracted to little kids because

    its not their fault.

    kinda like gay people."

Your 100% right its not their fault and couldn't agree more, just like our society doesn't think its wrong either when a 26 year old women has repeated multiple sex with a 13 year old male. I hate hypocrisy and i hate double standards, if we are gonna give those female predators a slapp on the wrist, then its only fair we do the same for male predators

  • ONCE AGAIN - STATISTICALLY: If you drive a car to and from work 5 days a week, then your more likely to kill a child than a ped. A childs OWN PARENTS are more likely to murder them than a stranger! And on, and on, and on with the numbers that don't lie. Everybody's responding to the latest in "Public fear through media - vote for me and I'll get tough on crime and ask for a budget increase so you'll think I'm protecting you and your children while ignoring the more serious dangers they face."

  • Reminds me of the story of Yvette Cloete, a paediatrician in Newport, Wales, who came home to find that some tabloid-reading moron had spray-painted 'paedo' on her front door...

  • It's wacko sentencing like 16 will get you 20 that has created the motive for so many sickos to escalate sex to murder.

No child molester or rapist should ever be afraid to let the victim live to tell.

  • I have beaten the living shit out of pedophiles in my time... people that have abused innocent children.. but sometimes..NOT always but SOMETIMES.... people that did the deed, and paid the price for their crime and want to start over.... can't do so.

  • that makes you an uncivilised brute a truly civil society does not treat it's worst prisoners in that fashion

  • HA HA HA HA... I laugh at you for even remotely thinking we are a "civilized" society

  • I never said society was civilized I was saying most outsiders to a society judge how civilized a society is by how they treat their worst criminals

  • Wow violence really is the answer. You should be very proud, or wait. . maybe you just lowered yourself to the level of the same monster you are trying to 'teach a lesson too'. Interesting. I think pedophiles should be locked away. I always think the violent assholes who take the law into their own hands should be locked away.

  • first off you missed my point, second off locking them away does not solve the problem.

  • and I agree that locking them away doesn't solve it it merely makes them more bitter and hateful towards the world I think to stop them doing it you need to go to the root of the problem of why they are doing it in the first place locking them up serves no purpose other than to create a false sense of security

  • 1st of all, thanks for ruining the movie. 2nd, shut the fuck up with all your nonconformist bullshit and ranting that no one cares about.

  • ...and yet you still babble

guess the fact that I don't like having my movies ruined makes me a pedo-lover

    psst. it's a movie bud

the best ones piss people off ;]

  • you realise to see how civilised a society is they look at how that society treats it's worst prisoners the better they are treated the more civilised they are the worse the less civilised they are

  • Quite true. Dostoevsky said that after doing time in prison himself.

  • the ending was very endearing.

  • Anybody know the name of the song towards the end of the trailer?

  • it aint easy pimpin for a true player

  • I never thought I could feel compassion for a pedophile until I saw this feel. Now prior to seeing this I would have flipped reading that comment, but watch this film and you will understand. Kevind Bacon should have recieved the award for this.

  • @hynes0505 the actors put up their salaries to make this. So incredible.

  • I just rented this movie

gonna watch it later tonight :)

  • was surprised how good a film this was considering the subject matter....my god Mos Def-how did I not know about this man?

  • mos def is a revelation in that film.

  • kevin bacon pwns

  • i scrolled down here and this was the 1st comment i saw and i quite agree!

  • Kevin Bacon played a paedophile before in 'Sleepers'.

  • He played pederast!

  • incredible film. Kevin bacons performance is more or less flawless. shocking and moving. excellent movie but i fear that not everyone will understand it.

  • the best film

  • anyone know the title, artist of that song? 1:10

  • Who am i? From the animatrix soundtrack

  • wow, incredible trailer. i love kevin bacon's performance.

  • I really want to see this now...I love that it has Kevin and Kyra in it. I actually just found out recently that they've been married for like...20 years. Crazy!

  • awsome movie!

  • This was a really great movie. Excellent drama.

  • I really need to see this film!

Im going to go buy it tomarrow.

  • What a preformance by Keven Bacon. And Mos Def too! Damn that was a good film. It really pushes you.

  • His best performance, in the best drama!

  • this was a really good movie
