  • she looks hot in this clip

  • Press 9 for FUCK YOU.

  • and I'm like FUCK YOU! ahahhaha lol

  • /replay over and over and over XD

  • lol... she is really good and she is british..

  • I can't stop watching this XD

  • and I am like FUCK YOU !!!! XD

  • Kid's don't listen after the 0:42 mark. Seriously.

  • I'm from LA so I hear/deal with valley girls a lot. This is quality.

  • I'm shocked and unbelievably pleased at what a wonderful American accent she does. It's ridiculous. Omg. I LOVE her.

  • Haha excellent except when she says "on it's own"....not something Americans say. But the accent is perfect!

  • @mikebee06 yeah 'by itself' is what we prefer ^_^

  • If it wasn't for the title I wouldn't have known this was Catherine Tate

  • perfection

  • when i don't look at the vid i hear Zooey Deschanel.

  • she is the fucking queen of comedy. :'D

  • 'And I'm like Fuck you!'

    that. was. unexpected.

    hahaha

  • stupid baby crap

  • I ca...nt breaatthhe

  • And I'm like, this is hilarious

  • Great.

  • AND HE'S LIKE BACK OFF AND I'M LIKE F*CK YOU

  • somehow this reminds me of Chelsea Handler..

  • @lauwer Now that you mention it she sounds just like her!

  • that is WELL good

  • with the her, and that voice....doesn't she seem like Veronica Mars?

  • @Laudeverd SO MUCH!!!

  • @Laudeverd Hahahaha so true, I had to watch again and she kind of sounds like Veronica Mars!

  • @Skruttangel so much! isn't it? :)

  • Sad to say I'm american and sometimes talk like this...lmfao.

  • I'm American. From California. Sadly... This really /is/ how some people talk. and @whowantsabighug , yeah, it's very good.

  • To any Americans, is that a good accent?

  • @whowantsabighug

I'm America and my wife's family lives in southern California, so I've spent a good amount of time there. This is fairly credible, but, like most comedy, it's also a bit exaggerated.

  • @whowantsabighug It's very good. I can hear a bit of her accent at some words but I don't think I'd guess she wasn't American if I didn't know.

  • @whowantsabighug I'm American. It was good (except maybe the word "embarrassed" was a bit off) but of course overly exaggerated, but that's what it was supposed to be like. So for the stereotype, it was fantastic. She did a great job!! (Just keep in mind most of us don't talk like that.)

  • The problem is, is that it happens in almost every language. I'm dutch, and i have a word like that, and i heard the french and the german people do it too.

  • "...and I'm like 'Fuck you!'"

LMAO Catherine Tate is brilliant! :D

  • OMG this sounds like so many girls I go to school with.

  • Family announced we are moving to America.. Oh dear God xD

  • @xoTARDISRoseHPxo God help you.

  • @mykylc Going to die D:

  • @xoTARDISRoseHPxo I just noticed your name...Tardis...Rose... :) I miss Rose. I wanted one more season with her.

  • @mykylc (name comes from Rose from Harry Potter and Doctor Who :D:D) and I agree! I really did like Rose and Ten. They were good together :3 (must say, I do enjoy Freema and Catherine)

  • @xoTARDISRoseHPxo I didn't think i was at first...but I do now. :)

  • @mykylc I have to agree with you!

  • @xoTARDISRoseHPxo lol we're not that bad. Just hopefully you're moving somewhere besides California. Good luck though --- I hope you like it. Just like the awesome UK, the USA is a wonderful country :)

  • One hundred percent accurate. I know about four people like this. :D

  • When she says "I don't believe you" or "Am I embarrassing you?" it sounds New Jersey. But otherwise as a Californian, quite convincing!

  • Comment removed

  • fck im from the california valley

    and i'd have to say

    this is extremely accurate LOL

  • This is hilarious, I'm from L.A and I have to admit there are people who talk just like that here.

  • I'm American and she's one of the few foreigners I've heard that can actually do a believable American accent.

  • @mollielie Hugh Laurie. Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Daniel Day-Lewis, Naomi Watts, Russel Crowe, Toni Collete, etc, etc, etc. The list goes on.

  • @ShayMeFuel Yeah, I have to agree, there are dozens of actors who can do a superb american accent

  • @mollielie its actually the easiest accent to learn, i have a perfect american and have never been taught english, never went to usa. 1980s cartoons all the way, its actually the easiest english accent there is too do. Ats why we have more brits now a days doing american accents than the other way around. Just look at any Tom Cruise doing a british accent movie and you'll see the difference.

  • @mollielie What are you on about. Brits and Aussies are incredibly adept at doing American accents. Look at all the Brits in US TV shows and films. Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Simon Barker, Most of the Cast of Without A Trace, Some of the Leads in The Wire.

  • This made me dizzy. Hahaha

  • This is fantastic.

  • accurate.

  • Blatant Frank Zappa rip off

  • I actually do this dialect for fun... A lady on a train once came up to me and asked me if I was from the US. -__-" it was.. awkward...

  • @NanxCakes I'm surprised. usually us americans can tell when it's a fake accent, no matter how good the person is. there's always something a little... off.

  • Super accurate!!! haha

  • I used to live in the states and I can do this exact imitation... she nailed it!!

  • now that's what u call an actress..... totally versatile llollll

  • Comment removed

  • "And I'm like...F*ck you!" LMAO! Classic! Love it! Thanks for posting! :D

  • hahahaha

  • A+

  • She sounds like Chelsea Handler.

  • Catherine Tate is amazing with all the vastly different voices she can do! I mean she can sound like a totally different person as a Valley Girl and loose her accent! Not to mention her show is lots of fun! Better then Saturday Night Live...except for the occasional guest star like Betty White making it uber hilarious!

  • She sounds like 90% of my school's population XD

  • i know people just like this...guys even ;S

  • I used to have an American teacher at school and her accent sounded exactly like this! She had to be my second favourite teacher :P

  • now let's start over. but this time, replace "like" with "says" to hear English version of this dialogue.

  • wow that doesn't even sound like her voice! she's awesome!

  • i feel a little insulted because i'm a valley girl too, but i can't stop laughing cuz most valley girls are like that. lol

  • Featured on TvTropes.

  • wow, her american accent is pretty spot on, except for when she says "so"

  • Keep clicking 5... :)

  • Lol wut?

  • lol. Her accent is great. X)

And I say "and he was like" "and I was like" all the time cause I can't think of any other way to say it. ;)

  • @hb818283 Then he said, then I said?...

  • the amount of respect i have for her for saying all that without messing up xD

  • What is most hysterical is I sound just like that! And So does everyone else from the Silicon Valley. I know people think "Valley girls" are from SoCal but we're not we're from San Jose. LOL

  • OMG her american accent is good!

  • I'm American, and I hate to say that this is really accurate.

  • @Thechuckshow1 this IS, like, really accurate.

  • @Thechuckshow1 Are you kidding? Where do you live? Silicon Valley or Beverley Hills? Average Americans don't talk this way.

  • Love her soo much! :L

  • i just realized that's catherine in a wig and an american accent. she so talented.

  • It's soo Scarlett Johansson :)

  • I have heard a conversation almost exactly like this. And I laughed about as hard at it too

  • I am a CA valley girl, and we don't say "like" that often, but personally I do talk that fast. All the time, but that's just me.

  • @SilentVoyce I'm a Calie girl too and I have to admit I do say "like" that much! Although she didn't say "hella" which is the phrase most common 'round here! LOL

  • @mirandasblog you must be from NoCal. XD I've heard that "hella" is the phrase up there.

    I'm from SoCal.

  • @SilentVoyce yup I grew up in the Silicon Valley and now live in the East Bay. LOL everyone up here says "Hella" and "like" after every noun, its kind of ridiculous. But the one I hate is "uhh yah know" after every sentence. I noticed my Socal friends do that too, it makes me wanted to scream!

  • @mirandasblog XD I will admit that I do say "you know?" after almost every sentence. My friend went to college in NoCal, and now that she's back all she says is hella this, hella that. It's so weird that there are different things we do even though we're in the same state.

  • and I'm like I freaking LOVE you Catherine! :D

  • She actually sounds a little bit... swedish?

  • valley girls dont talk that quickly, dont say have slight new jersey accents, and look way more ditzy

  • @green7giant Jersey girls speak fast like this. but how to do Brits create a convincing American accent but it's so hard to do a British accent? hmm

  • @LottoLogista I guess it depends on the person. I think i could do one well. She's got a convincing American accent, but I'm just not sure it's valley girl.

  • @green7giant It's pretty good for an english person. (I'm American living in Britain) it sounds mostly LA with a good dollop of New Jersey thrown in, which makes it a little awkward, but funny as hell.

  • Wow. Catherine Tate is a master at accents, but this just reminded me of the few actual valley girls I've known...and made me want to shoot myself as a result. xD

"And she's like, 'like', and I'm like, 'BOOM! Headshot!'"

    -IMP ;) :)

  • It took me more than 5 seconds to realise that was Catherine Tate.

  • lol

  • 'he was like... i was like... Fuck u'

    lol :)

  • SO filmed in Ed's Easy Diner in Soho London!

  • amazing

  • "and i'm LIKE and he's like"

  • This has absolutely nothing to do with the original Valley Girl style, fashion, or slang talk.

  • lol Catherine tate is one of the funniest people alive, and she does a really awsome american accent

  • Oh wow look it's Poland :U

  • Based on Graham Norton, she's improved her American accent in the past four/five years.

  • ALSO an accent is only an accent to those listening from a certain perspective. If you are from NYC u would say u dont have an accent, if you are from the deep south u would say you dont have an accent but when one listens to the other he/she would say you have a new york/southern accent. Overall USA pronounces words differently than the UK.. USA purposely set up a diff spel/pron. format to unify and distinguish US from Great Britain. YAY TO COMMON SENSE.. last time i read a comments section lol

  • @catokeeffe.. a bit sensitive aren't we? Get over it lol. sound like a little kid trying to brag that he has a penis too.. yea we all are unique, great discovery.. moving onn....

  • American here.. and she is doing a GREAT EXAMPLE OF SOME highschool-age girls.. hate girls like this but she is doing a GREAT JOB with it lol.. also.. yea there are morons in every country. America is not a flawless or immortal country, wallowing in ignorance while everything falls to shit doesn't fix the problem either. So everyone in their respective countries should do their part.

  • SHE DOES THE BEST ACCENTS EVER :)

  • and then he was like back off and then i was like fuck you XD

  • I think she's doing an excellent American accent, and funny hahahaha

  • Its funny how a lot of Americans are making themselves look dumb in saying things like "America is the richest country in the world", isnt there debt ment to be at 13 trillion dollars?

By the way, this isnt a comment against americans, just the ones who are idiotic enough to think there country is immortal from anything.

  • this sucks

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • my cock brought me here

  • thumbs up if you see a pokemon ball in the background

  • I am American and I thought that was hilarious and a really good imitation...and like all accents they vary for every region of a country...watch Doctor Who and u can hear all the different accents and the show points it out! I love Catherine Tate and I thought she was the best companion on Doctor Who!

  • The annoying thing is large numbers of girls between the ages of 12 and 30 in the UK are starting to sound like this. Particularly the superfluous and overuse of the word 'like'.

  • I love it!

  • She sounds and looks like Chelsea Handler :D

  • I brought myself here, cause I know what I like to watch and I don't blindly follow other people :D

  • ..and my head's like fucked up!

  • lmao i love being British :)

  • I'm from southern california; she nailed the accent and dialect perfectly.

  • @jeffinition And the retardation... people from SOCal are stupid. Very very stupid, materialistic, careless people.

  • @kimberlymarie21990 Hey I'm from Southern California. Educated and have a career, so to let you know were are not all like that. It is a comedy skit, that wasn't bad. Get your facts straight and don't be judgemental like that...

  • Freeman's mind anyone?

  • @DarkWARior768 Yes Please. And lots of it.

  • Ugh, awesomely funny lady, but American accent is pretty bad.

  • @catokeeffe yea not too great of a valley girl voice.

  • @catokeeffe - that was a BAD "American" accent?? It was damn near perfect, there were only 1 or 2 points where you could tell she was a Brit doing a fake accent.

Btw, there's no such thing as an American accent.

  • @1980NewWave You can tell in about five seconds that she's a Brit doing an imitation. You're either not from the United States or are deaf .Btw, you're also an idiot. There is too such a thing as an American accent. Just because there are different SUB-TYPES of American accents, it doesn't mean the category as a whole does not exist. That's like saying that there's no such thing as a dog because some dogs are corgis and some are labs.

  • Count how many times she says "like"

    reply with your answer.

  • I thought her name was Catherine Taint. lol

  • i love her :-) this video is really funny

  • ROSS SCOTT PUT ME HERE

  • Ross Scott needs Boxxy.

  • Ross Scott likes Catherine Tate? Respect +20.

Catherine, I would marry you if it were legal. <3

  • omg i was sent here to see if i am capibal of the role for ross scott, im male and 14... yea im totaly perfect xD

  • Fuck Yeah Ross Scott.

  • So 373 people came here due to a website? 373 people have no idea of the awsomeness of Catherin Tate.

  • @pinksponge2 We do now.

  • @pinksponge2 I like Catherine Tate and I'm one of those people :'] Guess you've never seen Freeman's Mind - if you did, you'd understand XD

  • Little Britain, much?

  • If AccursedFarms brought you here don't say it or get troll'd.

  • @TheSamFishar

    Accursed Farms brought me here

    bring it on BITCH!

  • @JohnYautja Nah.

  • andimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslikeandimlikeandheslike

  • I like it, but she's sneaking some Jersey/Brooklyn in there. And I believe her "o" sound is sounding a bit northern-mid-west. She's hitting the true vowel sound for o, which Americans rarely do. We usually start with the ə sound then move to the ʊ. Brits often have the full ʌoʊ for the o sound, so it's an easy mistake.

  • @TheDoctorOfOdd What the fuck are you saying?

  • o_O

  • I am watching this just becouse Ross Scott sent me here ;)

  • Her Hi! sounds like the Hi from yt: CommunityChannel

  • Thumbs up if accursedfarms brought you here

  • @memyselfandcorpse2

    it sure did :D

  • WOW! That American accent is, like, fantastic! And any American knows, like, EXACTLY what she's parodying because we've all, like, heard it before. Like.

  • You know what the worst part of this is? I actually know at least one person who really speaks like that.

But she's pretty good at the accent. I wonder how well she can do a standard American accent compared to the Valley Girl speech?

    -IMP ;) :)

  • I'm hearing some New York in there too

  • God, this woman is talented.

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! This is TOO FUNNY!!!

  • ha lol i thought it meant the welsh valleys - i was like thats a shite welsh accent and then i realised... :)

  • not bad...I was born and raised in SoCal....good job

  • Catherine Tate looks like Kristin Bell in this sketch....

  • The last line made me LOL.......

  • Catherine Tate is really good with accents, she's brilliant.

  • her accent is pretty good.

  • uh no this is not a good impersonation of the accent, she says ebarrassing like shes from boston, plus thats not how people from socal dress, and people from socal are laid back

  • her accents are brill. Considering she's British, this is flawless.

Well done Again CT....Derek slays me as well...belly laughs all the way.

  • I bet my English girlfriend learned her Valspeak imitation from this . She loves to mock the fact I'm from Southern California, and occationally sound a teeny bit like this >>.
