  • How the hell can u destroy those minis with out feeling guilty of murder!

  • 02:45 love the accent... lol

  • Simple. Had the trebuchet worked, that Mini would have gone into the next district. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained, and it looked awesome. Epic video

  • I like this one! Probably one pof the few where both machines fail!

I don't like the fact that they used minis. :( At least they didn't use a Beetle!

What was the show like this where the hosts also pre-built a machine before the show and opposed the winner of the two team's machines?

  • 6:23 LAUNCH FAIL!!!!!!

  • just one look at that trebuchet and I thought how can they ever expect this to work? This thing will fall apart immediately. They used it in the american version to hurl washing machines. But MInis?

But I don't think I know enough about physics and engineering to really say much about it.

  • LMAO Epic fail!!

  • i wonder how much lead dust they generated

  • lol super trebuchet!!!

  • @multi1984

If we are watching this, we're just curious. Not geeks.

Those of us who SEARCHED for this... of course we're geeks. You expected something different?

  • Strong car

  • this show can be compared to the producer of johnny quest. Assheap challenge is better than robot wars though. cause the host of robot wars worship the host of scrapheap and like to watch johnny quest with his dog Billy toghether with a bag of chocolate ham.

  • Is a really good show and the host was hot.

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I'm surprised that they're not using a bullet shield in addition to distance like they do on MythBusters since flying pieces of sheared-off metal or snapped chain links propelled by those forces are pretty dangerous.

  • You are obviously not an English student!!!!!!

  • as a Physics student, the trebuchet would have worked perfectley, the safety chain snagged and thats why it fell apart. If you look, the side of the arm where the car was attached snapped NOT the side where the skip was. Oh and by the way, what field of engineering are you studying.

  • that was perfect lol

  • PRO'ER JOB!

  • i like the old mini-s.

  • lol 60mph , more like 4mph

  • Andy and the Barley Pickers were the best team ever...it was so cool when they turned up on the scrappy races after going out here.

  • Win or Lose they did make a show from it!

  • lol 3:55 - fair ole tool that is :D

    That guy rocks

    PROPER JOB!

  • The trebuche team are a bunch of retards. Such a great idea and they didn't calculate whether it would work. Maybe it's not the point of the show, but I would really like to see this thing fling the mini.

  • what would you expect when they used a bunch of old telephone poles

  • given the time constraints, materials available, and the tools they had, making a trebuchet that size that would work would be a pretty hard task. plus as you said, it's not the point of the show. they might well have done the calculation, found it probably wouldn't work, but still gone for it. it's a shame, but the design was more or less doomed from the start :P good tv though xD

  • Err, no. It was an unexpected failure. The chain snagged, meaning the mini's end of the arm suddenly got yanked. The instantaneous forces involved would have been far greater than those in an according-to-plan launch. Even a non-scrap trebuchet would probably have broken if that had happened. It's like having the moving arm whack into a solid wall.

  • that wasnt snagged; it just got taut as the slack was pulled out of it by the falling lead, and wobbled because of the speed with which it happened.

though you may have something there; if they're attached the chain and main it tight BEFORE releasing the weight, there wouldnt've been such a great instantaneous force, and it might've just managed it.

Though looking at the way it broke, it probably woulda gone when the mini came round on it's curve anyway; it just wasnt quite strong enough.

  • to bad for both of them :p well it wouldnt be scrapheap challenge if something wouldnt break :P

  • Red wuns go fasta

  • i Totally Agree RED ONES DO GO FASTA

  • lol

  • Scrapheap Challenge rules epik fail barly pikers lol PROPER JOB

  • poor Barley pickers, so much work and all gone down the drain. But I have to hand it to them they took it like champions.

  • Proper Job!

  • I loved this series. The American version is so lame and boring by comparison - the commentators make so much difference.

  • yeah

  • too bad americans cant watch the full episodes on channel 4's website like you lucky lucky brits.

  • 6:23 - best moment ever! :D

  • Thanks for uploading! This show was so fun...

  • poor old mini's =[

  • @smutts the marine salvage one is one of my faves because of a mini rescuing mission from under the sea.

  • thank you very much fur the upload!!! As i missed out on this episode.
