This is not "Gay" music. This is ITALO DISCO. One of the most Beautiful music in THE WORLD. Before ghetto people took over the music industry and corupted the very essence of what music is all about. It's really hard to get anything exact about dance music, but I'll try.

Italo refers mostly to a period (its prime being ~1980-1985) that came after disco, but precedes most subsequent dance genres in Europe; the early 80s is when dance music started emphasizing synths and production, and Italo at that time was mostly defined by similarities to traditional disco - it was only in '83 that it gained the name "Italo."

Hi NRG describes fast tempo and precussive bass - it's a generic term.
