You're not suppose to be playing a D9. You are supposed to play E=0 A=11 D=12 G=12 B=12 E=12 :)

I play the exact same guitar as you, same year and finish. I have replaced my tuners though, and the pickups aren't stock neither. Great guitar IMHO.
