After being clearly out of shape for a very long time, the lost by decision against Schilt prove he'll ever be a tough man to beat.

He's gettting better & better.

His last fight can prove it. Sparks is not a great fighter but Alexei did a perfect job.

That's kind of harsh since it was claimed he was washed up in 2005 he's still been around.

Though I agree it's quite early to put him up there against an elite like Badr, specially since he was on a 3 loss streak not long ago.

But win or lose it's not going to do anything negative with their career.

Badr gets his rematch and Alexey gets his shot at glory.

I hope Alexey comes back the way he once was, nothing like a Cinderella story.

@backstabba101 Alexey has never taken kickboxing seriously. His demons came first. He has had a serious alcohol problem for 5-6 years.

He had the structure, the talent, the speed, the technique.

Fans would kill to take over his place. He wasted his life and potential. He could have achieved greatness.

Ignashov is a tragic figure. He makes me fucking angry because I know how much he threw away.

Well that's true, but IMO the skills are still there despite his age.

Even in the fights he lost recently they're due to decision or leg injuries.

He still wants to compete, but does he have what it takes to be champion?

That's a question answered best after this upcoming fight.

I personally would love to see him do a comeback with a name like Badr.

So despite being angry at what he could've just hope he trains his butt off for this next fight.

Badr is a benchmark and Alex is gonna get measured.
