  • @mrkillerdildo fuck you and you hilter loving ilk. this quality is awsome for not being made in this time idiot. the song is very old so dont judge it

  • @mercinary1000 Heil Hitler.

  • some reason everytime im underground this song goes on...

  • I can't get enough of this song! Love it to nuke Rivet City wih.

  • If nuclear war is what it takes to bring this awesome music back, then.... WHERE THE NUKES AT?!

  • This brings me back when I was killing crabs and finding Pinkerton in that broken off part of Rivet City :)

  • Fallout 3 has old songs because this game takes place around 30's to 60's with scientific fiction. Today we have alot of technology that surrounds us. If we lived in the Fallout universe, we would be living in scientific fiction of 30' to 60's and we would be devasted by nuclear fallout.

  • @MasterXStorm116 the game doesnt take place in the 30's or 60's thats just the time america got bombed and civilizations has benn at a stand still that game accually takes place far in the future

  • @MasterXStorm116 The game takes place in 2277, 200 years after the Great War which happened in 2077. Society never grew past the 50's and was stuck in it in a way. That's why there is old music

  • lovely song and another perfect fit for fallout

  • You neve gonna beleive this:

My girlfriend, a girl who only listens rap and other crap...

Loves this song, reminds her of her grandpa she says, i was like OMG NO WAY I LOVE THIS TOO :D

  • the reason for the music was because america was stuck in the norms of the 1950s and lower. technology advanced mostly in weapons and then the bombs hit.

  • @Miss1259 no, he just prefers the enclave radio... =(

  • L.A NOIRE!!!!

  • 1 person had too little fallin in theirs

  • this song was also on LA noire

  • @idonotwastenames no shit sherlock

  • @12DMC81 dig deeper watson

  • 1 person didn't know you could listen to radio in fallout 3

  • *Someone Walks Into Room*

    1: Hi

    2: Shhh

1: You know they can't here me while you're sneaking

2: Yes but you're talking over the awesome music

  • @dreamaway55 That's not right.. the reason is cause the threat of war from China in the alternate universe kept America in that 'Post war 50's theme' as in stereotypical America, the American dream, and they used music from that era to make it more aesthetic, the nuclear war in fallout was in 2077, but everything was still modelled around 1950's America, cause it was classic America - though you're right, the songs are meant to be ironic (:

  • One people listen to Enclave Radio and lost karma.

  • dream away55, the bombs in the fallout universe fell in the year 2077 not the 40's, the reason for the 40's music is that america has been in a constant state of war with the chinese republic, resulting in a stagnation of technological and cultural advancement, save for those pertaining directly to warfare. not due to a fight for survival. note that fallout 3 takes place in the year 2177 one hundred years after the fact when the surface radiation has disapated leaving radiation only in the water

  • @MrGochira wrong, everybody gets this wrong

fallout's atmosphere is based on how people from the 30s, 40s, 50s, saw the future

  • @TheSyrupCompany You are correct

  • @TheSyrupCompany I agree and the main rezone is the time periode is right untill after Wolrd War 2 than it fallows an alternant univurse type thing where things that would have happaned in our univurse happaned in theres.... just many many years later....

  • @MrGochira 2277 it takes place 200 years later, not 100

  • @MrGochira it takes place 200 years later, not 100

  • @MrGochira the game takes place 200 years after dude not 100

  • Wow, I can't believe how many people don't know about Fallout lore. No, these songs aren't the only ones that survived. In the Fallout universe, the culture stopped advancing in the 1950s. Note how all TVs are in black and white, despite the fact that it's 2277.

  • @SerbiaMaNiAC I wish we stopped advancing in technology and style in the 50's. Sometimes i turn on Fallout 3 and turn the volume on the Tv up, And just listen to the radio. Fuck this game is awesome.

  • Too much rain has fallen into 1 person's life :p

  • some rain didnt fall in 1 persons life!lol

  • @masterofpuppets0032 the nukes fell on the game in the 1900's thats why the songs are on the game

  • @TheRennie02

uuuuuh, actually, in the mission for 3 dog wher you go fix his antenna, if you read around, they were launched in 22 something.. The chinese launched their nukes first, at which point everyone else did, thus destroying the world in mere hours.

  • its music like this that make fallout 3 a very unique and epic game

  • wow this is a blast from the past

    fuck new vegas

  • My friend told me that during a fight, they should play like dramatic music instead of this. I punched him.

  • @ChUmBaWaMbA31 hahaha i bet that shut him up!

  • @ChUmBaWaMbA31 when he punched you back, did dramatic music start to play?

  • @Scorch675 I need to stop hanging out with that kid. He also thinks this game is bad and that Black Ops is good. I thought he was a human, but apparently not.

  • @ChUmBaWaMbA31 Damn super mutants...

  • To hell with mainstream music now a days this sort of music is the best ever ! :D

  • this song is off key compared to the game

  • @littlequig

    Not true.

  • I like how if non of us ever played fallout 3 just about everyone here would hate the songs.

    Fight the good fight!

  • @littlequig @mrloadingscreen yeah. not true

  • i wonder if the song "my guy" would have fit in gnr

  • LoL, a small part of the intro misses, nice song though :]

  • i love all fallout 3 music

  • this is one of the reasons i loved this fucking is this old music it just completes the whole thing

  • one of the few youtube films where 240 p sounds better than 720 p :D

  • Reason for 30`s - 40`s music in Fallout:

Nuclear war. Nobody after those years never got a chance to sing, and everybody must have been to busy trying to stay alive, well, at least survivors. The funny thing is, Bestheda knew what they were doing making the songs very Ironic.

e.g. I dont want to set the world on fire - America is a wasteland xDD

  • @DreamAway55 that's really insightful of you, i noticed the irony, but not the reasoning

  • @DreamAway55 The war happened in 2077.

  • @fingersticks74 Yes, the nuclear war.

  • @DreamAway55 that and i dont want to set the world on fire was kind of a war song after pearl harbor but only slightly

  • @DreamAway55 incorrect

the reason for 30s and 40s music: since the beginning the fallout atmosphere was and is based on how people from that time period saw the future, which also explains things like laser rifles and robot assistants. And yes, this was confirmed by the developers.

I do agree that Bethesda did a great job choosing ironic music though :)

  • @DreamAway55 I think "Civilization" is the most ironic, and in all honesty, the best song of the soundtrack. We could make fun of "savages" in the song, and yet 250 years later, and the nuclear holocaust on DC, what's really the difference? We yearn for what the song offered, what "Way Back Home" offered, what "Anything Goes" offered, and what we can never attain, now that we can only try to survive.

  • @DreamAway55 and the best thing about this is to imagine a world where Lady gaga and Justin Bieber would never sing, cuz they burned to ashes and the bombs felt

  • @DreamAway55 um ur wrong, they said the bomb went off 2077, and it was like 2300 something wen u play the game, Bestheda just wanted to use that theme, but i used to think the same thing, it makes more sense ur thinking, but its still not the right thing

  • @DreamAway55 FUCKING LOL you retard.

The music from Fallout is HARDLY from the 40's. Its from 50s. You sound like a typical kid who is like HERP DERP GUISE NOONE GOT A CHANCE TO SING XDXD IM SO FUNNEH.

Eat shit and die. Because that isnt fucking false, USA and Russia were in a nuclear war in the 50's and that is what its based off.

Play Fallout 1, 2 and then take a fucking history lesson and come back.

  • @BloXboX37 dude...chill out. You're yelling at someone you don't know about something that doesn't really exist.

  • @Semperfim16 Yelling? Doesnt really exist? What the fuck are you actualy talking about. Is it your first day on the internet or your second day?

  • @BloXboX37 Maybe it would interest you to know that the majority of Fallout 3's songs are from the 1930s and 1940s. Only about 1 or 2 are from the 1950s

  • @TalonMercenary 1 - 2 Lolno. When i listend to the songs in Fallout 3 and played the game in general. My grandpa passed by and said " This was the jam back in the 50's "

He didnt say it to 1 - 2 songs. He said it to a number of 10 atleast.

    So sure. You're right

  • @BloXboX37 Myabe he did "jam" to them but most ARE from the 30s and 40s. Look it up if you don't believe me, otherwise, your argument is invalid. Good day

  • @BloXboX37 No reply from you. HA, you knew I was right. Not so sure of yourself are you now?

  • @TalonMercenary Not not really. I didn't reply because i didn't bother to. Every time i log in to my Youtube Account i have my Inbox full of 30 Comment replies. Once i saw your was there i ignored it because there is far more important shit to read.

FYI i dont give a shit if someone or something is right or wrong.

  • @BloXboX37 Ah, but you still gave your time to reply, and you also knew what i commented with, so you didn't ignore it. Stop contradicting yourself fool. Reply all you want, rest assured i won't be reading the drivel you post back

  • @TalonMercenary Don't even bother with him, look at his profile description::

" My name is Andi, Im 19 years old.

Im a Furfag and im Gay :3 I also love gaming. Mainly im a huge Fallout fan and Team Fortress 2 fan."

Seriously, check his profile, it says that!

  • @dhshrh2 hahahaha you're right as well!!

  • @BloXboX37 you shouldn't be talking. The music is from about 30's-50's. Fallout happens because of war with china. The war happens in 2077. America shot forward technologically, but it never allowed itself to be degraded culturally by things such as progressivism and immorality like today's weaker less powerful America.

Also learn history. We never went to war with Russia.

So please reread the 1st sentence of the 2nd paragraph of your comment and apply it to yourself. The part about dying

  • @BloXboX37 Wow. Boy, do I love the internet!

    Have a wonderful day!

  • @DreamAway55 actually the war happens in 2077.. It's just America stayed awesome. Instead of degrading itself down to today's level which is a lot less amazing.

  • @DreamAway55 Well, the music can reinspire civilization. James and the Project Purity Scientists were probably inspired to clean the Potomac in partly because of these songs. I bet you that the Capital Wasteland will start rebuilding civilization after they get their clean water.

  • Adding to the other comment: The Fallout universe did NOT become apocalyptic in the 1950s-it DIVERGED(caps for emphasis, no italicize option) from our universe in the 1950s. I believe the actual lore of Fallout, somewhere, explains the government severely suppressed change thereafter. So while there WAS some cultural change after the 1950s, it was RIDICULOUSLY little change. The major movements of the '60s, 70s, 80s, etc. etc. don't exist in the Fallout universe because of it.

  • @masterofpuppets0032

One major concept of Fallout is retro-futurism-where the game is TECHNICALLY futuristic and definitely science fiction, but based on what people of past times commonly thought the future would be like. In Fallout's case, it was around the Cold War era(as most retro-futurist games are), the 50s exactly, and diverges after the 50s into a universe where a lot of that culture is thus fittingly put into the series. So yes, it fits perfectly in the game-despite the sarcasm.

  • this is amazing 20's music!

  • I love how ironic all the songs are supposed to be.

  • man i can't stand listening to these songs, not beacuse i don't like them, but beacause they remind me that i cannot paly fallout 3 anymore, 'cos my Box is bust, anyway, still is good to live with the memories.

  • Guys the 60's cultural norms kept static as opposed to the crap we have to deal with today. It even says it on the back of the FO3 box, how can you miss that.

  • This is one of the best songs in Fallout cant wait for New Vegas

  • this song played while i blew up megaton.

    good times!

  • @pimpongbal Hey, into each life, some radioactive particles must fall. And don't worry, the sun will shine in a few weeks. If you're alive to enjoy it, that is.

  • Galaxy News Radio is the greatest Wasteland Free Radio Station EVER!

  • lol, i played this game, then we learned about Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, and other great jazz musicians, i was so happy.

  • dear god..... it's hard to believe that people actually knew how to create beautiful sounds with their voices.... but with out the use of machines of some sort. What Archaic method is this?

    actually being talented?!!?!!!? madness !!

  • @Striarii Madness? THIS. IS. FALLOUT!!!!!!

Yeah, you don't see good music today, just miley cyrus and justin beiber crap. I refuse to capitalize their names. They don't deserve capitalization...yeah...

  • @Striarii Yeah, I heard they didn't even edit their voices back then. I mean, how can you make a good song without doing that?

  • @Striarii Yeah, I heard they didn't even edit their voices back then. I mean, how can you make a good song without doing that? Maybe they can teach today's singers a thing or two.

  • this is no the correct version, I beleive

  • THERE it is :D

    found it :]

  • If anyone has PS3 here, add me!!

    PSN: vanPersieFR2002

    Fallout fans!! lmao:P

  • I think that the sound quality makes it even more unique and better

  • agreed nothing like the old lp sound for this kinda music

  • these songs were made in the 1900's and they still listen them in 2277?? wow...i love the way these songs fit into the game

  • @masterofpuppets0032

These songs are all that's left of the old fallen society

  • Yes, the timeline actually makes little sense.

the war started back in 2060ish, and at 2077, the bombs fell. now fine, things could have stagnated artisticwise for 200 years, but I would think the music of the day would still be something more progressive than stuff from the 1940s.

alternate universe can explain anything away however...so, this worlds 2060 = our 1940 artistically. I would have preferred a 1960s-70 timeframe however...but the campyness of the 50s does add a unique flavor.

  • @SaturnFX Nope, the alternate universe of Fallout is designed so that the culture completely froze during the 50's. Everything about the universe is designed based on that culture, including the effects of radiation, albeit they allow some realism of radiation poisoning to be mixed in with the 50's mutation myth.

It is hard to comprehend a culture not progressing cultural but able to advance technologically because our's is constantly changing. But there are cases of this in the real world

  • @SaturnFX the bombs dropped in the late 20s or early 30s. they even said in the game that the great depression didnt happen.

  • no, the bombs dropped in 2077 I believe, after the liberation of alaska from the chinese.

  • werent they made in the 50's?
