I love Paul Farmer and this issue, but I think there are a few distortions we need to come to terms with. For example, he says the slave trade started in Britian. Let's face it, humans have been swapping slaves for centuries (Indians, whites, blacks, and asians). To ignore reality, smokes screens us from seeing the bigger picture.
