huh, that's odd. I always thought Herman sailed together with a friend of his on the Sea Monkey to Monkey Island to find out its terrible secret. You know, like they established in the first game in those stories about the ship, the captain's log book found inside of it and Herman's numerous comments during our travel on Monkey Island.

the only logical answer is that there actually was a Herman Toothrot who somehow had disappeared and who Grampa assumed to be him because of the same initials.

Herman saying Ozzie knocked him into the whirlpool is the one plot that I do admit goes beyond simply "plot isn't serious" since LeChuck in the last game said that he did that. Maybe he got the wrong guy because he was so dumb.

This is the worst part of the game, that they decided that Herman Toothrot should actually be Captain Marley. It sucks!

Other than that, the many many bugs, the fact that you can't use your mouse at all, the annoying Monkey Kombat and the awfully ugly graphics this is a solid Monkey Island game.

(I sound very negative about the game but I'm really not, I like it but it has quite a few flaws)

I have the same problem as SeanCarols i just hit him with the coconut,milk bottle and the accordian in the right order and they just say "Herman?" "Where?" and then herman does this little sigh like he is in a mood! help please

How am I supposed to make Hermans memory come back? I've tried to throw things at him allready. When I first got to Monkey Island I talked to him. And I used up all the talking lines. I tried to throw the coconut at him right afterwards Guybrush asks him "Herman?" and he relpies "Where?". And the same goes with rest of the stuff. How do I do? I've done everything else. I've beaten Jojo and the lava is flooded. How do I do? Can't get his dumbass memory back!

Search your inventory for everything that you have in it. You can throw a lot at him . You have the right idea, this part of the game is actually kind of buggy in my opinion.

Do you have the accordion, throw all objects seen in video at herman, in the order seen.
