Men are still seen as the breadwinners, also the balance is found in men receiving inheritance from their father. Rape is attributed to being hirabah (highway robbery/terrorism) and hence does not need 4 witnesses and relies on circumstancial evidence. Sunan Abu Dawud,Book 38, #4366. The 4 witness thing doesn't even make sense, if there is 4 witnesses they are apart of the crime since they did not act to help and will also be punished.

Actually in Islam, you need 4 witnesses for ADULTERY, not rape. It's very hard to convict someone of adultery. In Sharia law if a man rapes a woman HE gets stoned to death. The punishment for rape is death so I don't know what this guy is talking about.

Women tend to have less financial responsibilities to men even in this day and age and potentially into the forseeable future. Men are still seen as the breadwinners, also the balance is found in men receiving inheritance from their father. So the woman who would receive less inheritance from her father, would be balanced by her husband receiving more. It's kinda arbitrary. Also, 4 witnesses aint so bad. Better than people being accused of rape when they're innocent.

Guys I've come to the conclusion that belief in God isn't stupid, there really is no evidence proving or disproving that he exists, and the comfort of knowing that it all happens for a reason, well its just human. What is really stupid though, is religion, electing people to tell you what the God's wishes are and giving them supreme power. If you really do believe in God then you don't need someone to interpret him, he should be as real to you as he is to anyone other believer.
