As much as I love Fantasia, this is not that great. It never works when Fantasia sings with someone else. She's so unique that she just doesn't blend well with anything. She's a premier soloist, though. SOOOOO much passionate energy in her style!!

I hate generalzations because they are racists but I'm going to have to make a generalization about my people in order to answer your question. Most Black people, especially those that went to Black churches, we sing with our whole body and soul. In Church we would say that she's got 'The Spirit" working through her when she's singing. She's hunched over because she is digging deep inside her self to sing. That what gospel soul is. It's more than hearfelt it soulfelt. It's gritty.

That's why it's sill for people to try and compare this duet to Celines or compare Fantasia's voice to Kelly Clarkson. They aren't the same type of voice so you can't compare them. When Kelly sings with Fantasia Kelly's voice would be considered blue eyed soul. It's soulful but it's too pretty to be reg soul & certainly to pretty to be gospel/soul like Fantasia.
