Yes,CHAOS is beauty.embrace it ,or not,the wheel keeps turning.I love this guys music.Never heard it untill recently(my little Bro Billy)Go caat go!_MFAmbrose
can somebody PLEASE tell me the name of the song at around 1:10?! i think he says- "words empty as churches, plans are broken bottles on the beech". i just bought The Golden Hour and can't find it? please point me in the right direction (perhaps it's one of the 'unreleased' bits)?
You couldn't have made a better album Todd! The Golden Hour has been on continuous play in my car stereo... It's my inspiration as I travel from state to state placing third party candidates on the ballot in opposition to the Demopublican scum cloud of the USA...
the presence of the black and gold lomardi trophy makes 43 years of suffering blues not so so bad, uh oh, damn.
who happy french quarter candy store rock, saints just won the superbowl with moon and enthwhistle unpresent. happy Mardi Gras Jimmy Page. ...wrong song, with an accent agieuex, swet tooth hotel in the Quarter. Who Dat Endymion and Bacchus ooo yeah.
I hope I get to see them someday. Having read Tod's blog and made the transition from being a fan of CSC to a fan of Firewater, I'm really loving what they're doing musically.
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant went to India years ago to try something like this, but they came back empty-handed. And I'm glad, because they're wankers anyway.
the album is simply awesome, the best firewater record to date, and given the quality of their previous recording that means something... plus, reading the hilarious and interesting
weblog from tod ashley enhances the whole experience.
i love the recording process he used! So awesome - making connections with people you can't even communicate with and he says that the fact that they couldn't communicate made the music more interesting. I saw Firewater a couple days ago in LA - They were great! Great musicians - the trombone player chick is awesome - really refreshing music! You go Tod A.!
Great album, congratulations. Long time Firewater fan here, this album is long over due.
On a more sober note: I didn't realize that US is bombing India, Israel, Indonesia, Turkey and Pakistan, but that statement surely sounded powerful. Stick to music, Tod.
As editor of this, I should explain. As he said in the video, the plan was to go from Delhi to Istanbul, which would take him through Afghanistan, Iran, and possibly Iraq. What he said in the interviews but there wasn't time for in the video was that due to several unfortunate circumstances he only made it as far as Afghanistan. The recordings he got getting that far, however, form a backdrop to the new album. His trips in Indonesia and Israel are seperate from that initial journey.
this album is so amazing. at first i had some problems with the texts, but by now it is the most listened to album on my home PC, my work PC and my mp3 player ^
It reminds me of the time i went to motel 6 and asked the manager to phone up some musicians he knew. Whomever showed up, I recorded with. pure americana crap.
What can I say this is what the real America stands for. You are a great Ambassador for your country and indeed the world we need more people like you in the limelight. Great sound to, may Allah keep the gates of heaven open to you. 10/10.
Hey! I head Tod was at 9/11 Ground Zero? I love the idea that he went from NY into the fray and brought back music! good on ya' mate. can't wait for the new album
tod A. is amazing - i really admire his approach to music and the blending of styles. very original. i once heard some "acoustic" radio sessions and that was just the shit!

I love the music.
The CD claims to be ENHANCED and that contains this video I can't see in my fairly decent PC. Only the tracks.
Am I missing something here?
I have WinXP and QickTime7. Why can't I see the video?
Thanks in advance

I had a similar problem. Try right clicking on the disk drive and see if you can view the video that way.

Absolutely great video. Can't wait for the release of the album.
Does anyone know the name of the song played at 0:59?
The lyrics are something like:
Words empty as churches
Plans are broken bottles on the beach
The future they're looking for is still so far out of reach
pseudoredbeard 4 years ago 2
guess the song at 0:59 is from the golden hour sessions, but didn't make it onto the album.

exicited 'bout the new album. sounds great. when exactly is it coming out?

I've been streaming the record from firewater's myspace page all day.
it's just so striking, that no matter what style Tod borrows from, there's a consistent voice. You know you are listening to Firewater.
I've just been ecstatic all day listening to the joy in such expression. their outlook might be bleak at times, but these are dark days indeed.
Hearing that sound makes me feel like I have company.
Thanks Tod.
