@Jaringan2 We already have them, walking catfish too! (the worst are the slithering yankee... they come here and vote for reptillians like Rick Scott)
Asolutely true, unfortunately most people are ignorant when it comes to snakes and they'll carlessly ( and enthusiastically) go along to make the snake the worst of all the " monsters.
@MrEzee777 EXACTLY>....I started saying that 3 yrs ago and all i got btw was a bunch of pro exotic pet keepers./...they used to say there was no issue with having exotic pets but the facts show otherwise. the sad part is that its still allowed.........fucking idiots
They are going to need to do something about this before these snakes start eating pets and small children. They go "study" the problem, but it's going to take action, unfortunately.
@DonnaG2012 It is unfortunate that action has to be taken because I hate when any animal has to be killed but theres no other choice in this situation. Fortunately though, thats exactly what is now being done. Florida residents are now encouraged to kill these snakes if possible and there are groups of people who devote their time to hunting them. The only issue I see is the people who see a snake and just kill it before they know if its a Burmese. No need for the native species to die.
They are in North Florida, I've seen Pictures of 2 killed together, probably ready to mate or already had,off Hwy. 267 in the Apalachicola National Forest in Nov. 2010 hunting season
@doreamonda im not sure about the date but in 1992 The Hurricane Francis Hit the Florida and Destroy a Building that contain Thousand of Python ... so thats why there is Alots of Python in the Everglade .. Badly some Irresponsible People just Abandon they Snake outside . when they are getting too big
The poor snakes!! This is total discrimination against the snakes! I mean you don't have to result to killing. If you're killing snakes just because they're over populating in Florida, ship them to somewhere else! You might as well kill some humans, since we're waaay more populated than those snakes!
alright you dumb fuck animal lover its over 10 feet and has to be killed because its too deadly and why the fuck would u pick snakes over humans. this aint snakes on a plane.
@HtweYi i agree one day mabey people will relize that snakes are no threat to humanity. the only thing thats bad is irresponsibal owners. i think the owners that let them lose deserve the stretch rack
@HtweYi maybe cos there not native to florida and originate in india and shouldnt be there in the first place is the reason there being killed. Threatens the prey species that are native to florida fuking up the eco system
@HtweYi Okay Einstein, work out the logistics of locating, capturing, feeding, and transportation costs to get them back to SE Asia and you pay for it then I'll stop killing pythons... oh wait... Since it is now illegal in Florida to have in one's posession an unchipped, unregistered python of any kind makes your plan moot. In fact a person is obliged by law to kill any fereal python in the most human way feasible. So every winter I head into the glades w/ canoe, camping gear, rations and my ...
@Inquisitor53 ... well-honed blades (everything from a skinning blade to machetes to double-edged axe) so I can do swift & proper work of decapitating & skinning this invasive species and make money from their skins. But you better know what you're doing out here... there are far deadlier native flora & fauna than invasive pythons.
I'll wager youre from boston so i'll point out what i'm saying because youre probly to dense to understand. The person you called idiot asked why they HAD to kill it instead of relocation, given the size of it you'd have thought a zoo would have loved to have it, what im saying is when Native Idians cut your stuip fat belly open and find it full of Mcdonalds and some one asks why you wernt just deported back to where ever I hope the guy with the Knife says "hes not a native species u idiot"
Curse you. It is there in the new and proudly there is a presentation that some poor, innocent snake died apparently for nothing. And Floridians, do you have to euthanise all those snakes? Why don't you lock them in zoos or parks or operate them so that they won't reproduce no more? Anyways constrictor snakes don't need a lot of space. They can live in boxes.
Its open season! Those huge snakes are not native to florida, people get them illegally with a vivid imagination that they can raise them, no you can't, example 15yr old raised a python from a hatching, thought he was doing the right thing with proper care. THAT SAME SNAKE KILLED HIM. Hunters are getting permits also training from the EXPERTS on how to catch and ultimately KILL THOSE CRITTERS, enough said.
Anacondas are not the longest snake, that record goes to the reticulated python. And this still doesn't compare to an annie(as we snake owners affectionately call anaconda). You guys know another species that isn't supposed to be here? People. So go kill yourselves. I'm sick of people thinking they have a right to kill these creatures. Nothing lasts forever, so stop pretending the Everglades will if the pythons are gone. I for one am excited at the idea of American having a large constrictor sp
@theeasybeats The fact that they swallow prey, starting at the head. They cannot just open their mouths randomly to a size like our shoulders, straight from our heads. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but it is highly unlikely. HIGHLY.
Rednecks are loving this shit! (AND yankees are also an invasive so have at it boys!)
