How funny that Roosevelt's campaign song (and let's not forget he ended prohibition) could be made into a tantalizing song about a summer tryst. Ich glaube dass, Deutch ein sehr schon Sprache ist. Ich bin glucklich dass dieser Land ist . . . Gruner. Freulich. Ohne Krieg. Die Vereinichten Staten konnte etwas lernen von der German Experience. (Es tut mir leid for the piss poor Deutsch.)

a wonderful classic song. thank you so much for posting. also, i once saw a music video on our local affiliate of "classic arts showcase" that featured this song played to (very) old random film clips of people doing stuff like barbecuing and otherwise enjoying summertime activities. i asked the network and they said they could not find it. if you (or anyone) knows this specific video & where i might purchase it, can you please advise? i would be most grateful. thank you again

@bimhimbim LOL have you seen the words in English? there is no negative nor political drift to those words. The song was written years before FDR's campaign.

@Gurkenstolz oh man we didn't need a song to make the country depressed in the late '20s-early '30s...25% unemployment in '32, factories shuttered, agriculture depressed, banks failing, foreclosures, people living in tents were all quite sufficient. And listening to President Hoover on the radio or on newsreels didn't add any cheer, either.....pull him up and YouTube and tell me how inspiring you think he was.

mir gefällt biberti auch sehr gut. seine person ist wohl leider streitbar. leschnikow, ein anderes mitglied hatte biberti 1939, als er schulden hatte, seine rechte an den tantiemen verkauft. er starb später völlig verarmt und hat wohl trotz vieler bittbriefe keinen pfennig von biberti gesehen
