I was really hopin' that you would talk about the LASIK because I have really bad vision and I don't like dealing with contacts and glasses don't work so well. What's the price? Does it hurt? And how long can it last? I would be grateful for even short answers, thx
@adpylons Well some places are offering it as low as 1500 which is less than I spent on glasses and contacts in about 3 years (and I'm pretty sure they ALL offer finance options). It did NOT hurt and it didn't even scare me (and I'm PSYCHO about something other than my finger touching my eye). Procedure lasts about 10-15 minutes and the results can last a lifetime... if they get bad again, they correct them for free! :-) WORTH IT!!!! I don't expect you to respond as I know how flooded you must get with comments. Normally I just troll videos (generally because the makers are uneducated idiots who think they know stuff). Yours are actually good and I can tell that you actually have a brain. It seems very alien to me, someone in Australia, that the stuff you talk about - Americans may not know (stuff like the basic sex education) but I've heard about the "abstinence" campaigns, ugh, they make me sick, how will it work to teens?
Thanks for the compliment! It means a lot. And I wrote an article once on my myspace blog about how unlikely one is to wait to have any form of sex before marriage. The abstinence only programs have put us back one to two decades... But a shift is occurring and more and more people want their kids to be fully informed! So that's encouraging. :-)

Hey. I watched your video on Anxiety. It would not let me comment on that video. What I wanna say is that I'm an anxiety patient and I take medication for it. But the medication is not working even when they put it on a higher dose. I go to a psychiatrist and a psychologist but there not helping much. What should I do ? Goodness no. The money went exactly as I said... the majority of which is sitting in an interesting baring account until the non-profit can be formed.
I have an appointed youtube representative (a viewer known by many youtube content providers) who is authorized to view my accounts twice a year to vouch for that if it appears viewers in general want a reassurance.

mmm... I think I saw 20/300 or so. I don't remember for sure. It is expensive. Some health insurance companies help pay for it, or at least part... Most places have payment programs... and of course if you decide it's worth it, you can just start putting money aside a little bit each month until you've saved up the money.... that's what I've been doing for the last few years. :-)

Woods surgeon was sued, but not by Tiger Woods. Every surgery has its dangers. But the media reports I've read say "the operation is generally a success and complications rare". But rare isn't zero and millions of people have had Lasik. What I've seen here is that kicesie did her research and made her decision. Nothing wrong with that.
I know a number of people who have had Lasik surgery. Even those who had problems tell me they are better off with the surgery than they were before..
I don't know a doctor who hasn't been sued.... medical lawsuits are rampant and there are zero checks and balances and then it's left to a jury who likely has ZERO medical knowledge to decide if the correct medical choices were made.
I was going to add that part about how many and how often doctors get sued, but I ran out of 500 characters before I ran out of points to make.
The other thing I was going to add was that given kicesie's family, a nurse mother and doctor father, I would expect her to have gone into this surgery much better informed than the average person.
Yeah... my dad is forever scared of all things eyes. I know, a doctor who is squeamish about eyes. Or maybe it's just his eyes - can't remember. So he was a little concerned, but I waited the 10 years since my dad first said, 'wait ten years for them to perfect it before you go thinking about it.' He still wasn't ready for me to do it, but he didn't try to talk me out of it. He just always sees it in the terms of 'every year they'll have even better ways to do it!' haha...
And you could have waited another 10 years and gotten a bionic eye replacement.
But sometimes the benefits of doing it now really do outweigh the gains to be had by waiting for science and technology to progress.
My short answer to ANYONE who questions why you did it would be: 20/275 to 20/20.
How long should anyone live with eyesight like that before they take the plunge and get it fixed? The ends may not justify the means but your outcome justifies your decision to go for it.

I have a suggestion for uTube to help prevent vote botting.
In order to rate a vid have one of those warpped password thingees popup, they are not readable by computer, so a human actually has to decifer it.
Regular users are inconvenced very little, but, vote botes are stopped dead in there tracks...
This doesn't help with false flagging etc., but, its a start...

Goodness no. The money went exactly as I said... the majority of which is sitting in an interesting baring account until the non-profit can be formed.
I have an appointed youtube representative (a viewer known by many youtube content providers) who is authorized to view my accounts twice a year to vouch for that if it appears viewers in general want a reassurance.

what no glasses but its your signature look in all your old vids now it wil be harder to recognize you because people usualy get custom glasses andwell its easier to tell who people are and they are cute

I'm a sort of a social media consultant... In general I just make videos for youtube, and work with companies who contact me to maximize the potential of social, web 2.0 sites out there. And then I do lots of little side gigs.
Still going to school.... and with the time left over I try to get in some community service.

mmm... I think I saw 20/300 or so. I don't remember for sure. It is expensive. Some health insurance companies help pay for it, or at least part... Most places have payment programs... and of course if you decide it's worth it, you can just start putting money aside a little bit each month until you've saved up the money.... that's what I've been doing for the last few years. :-)

I don't know exactly how the system works there, but here our cities typically have a public health department. And they do free STD screening, free pregnancy tests, free condoms and other birth control, and counseling (advice and letting you know your options) if it turns out you are pregnant.

BS! My collegehood best friend had lasik from the guy who did tiger woods eyes like 5 years later and he still was a spokesperson for the doctor.
I found a good one, I had great results.

Woods surgeon was sued, but not by Tiger Woods. Every surgery has its dangers. But the media reports I've read say "the operation is generally a success and complications rare". But rare isn't zero and millions of people have had Lasik. What I've seen here is that kicesie did her research and made her decision. Nothing wrong with that.
I know a number of people who have had Lasik surgery. Even those who had problems tell me they are better off with the surgery than they were before..

I don't know a doctor who hasn't been sued.... medical lawsuits are rampant and there are zero checks and balances and then it's left to a jury who likely has ZERO medical knowledge to decide if the correct medical choices were made.
That part of our system is insane!

I was going to add that part about how many and how often doctors get sued, but I ran out of 500 characters before I ran out of points to make.
The other thing I was going to add was that given kicesie's family, a nurse mother and doctor father, I would expect her to have gone into this surgery much better informed than the average person.

Yeah... my dad is forever scared of all things eyes. I know, a doctor who is squeamish about eyes. Or maybe it's just his eyes - can't remember. So he was a little concerned, but I waited the 10 years since my dad first said, 'wait ten years for them to perfect it before you go thinking about it.' He still wasn't ready for me to do it, but he didn't try to talk me out of it. He just always sees it in the terms of 'every year they'll have even better ways to do it!' haha...

And you could have waited another 10 years and gotten a bionic eye replacement.
But sometimes the benefits of doing it now really do outweigh the gains to be had by waiting for science and technology to progress.
My short answer to ANYONE who questions why you did it would be: 20/275 to 20/20.
How long should anyone live with eyesight like that before they take the plunge and get it fixed? The ends may not justify the means but your outcome justifies your decision to go for it.
