  • I went to this concert and was never the same after.....no words.

  • Best concert I've ever seen

  • We saw this show twice that year, my "Heavy Metal Girl Friend", and I. We later got married and we are still together and in Love! Queensryche has been such a big part of our lives, they ARE STLL MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME, and it's 23 YEARS later!!!! Not many bands have the kind of talent and music that will still BE LOVED 25 YEARS LATER!

Queensryche is one of the GREATEST Metal Bands of ALL TIME and the album that this is from is THE GREATEST METAL RECORD OF ALL TIME: Operation Mindcrime!

  • I seen this too in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1991. I went with my brother and neice. I remember after, when the house lights came on. All of us looked at each other saying "wow." It was new technology back then. We never saw anything like that before.

  • I can skip any ad on Youtube in less than 5 seconds ... by watching videos that are ad free on other pages and networks ...

  • This was the best live performance I ever saw.. Greensboro NC 1991.. Perfection. Actually saw these guys about 2 weeks ago in WS.. Still rocking even though DeGarmo was not with them..

  • Oh My Gosh!! This is a fuckin' "BAND" !!!!!

  • What A fucking outro! even with youtube's shitty sound compression it fucked my skull!

  • this is phenomenal, pure rock and roll poetry and Geoff Tates vocal range just makes a picture that one can live in.

  • Notice no mosh pit wtf is that anyway?

  • I saw this show in Quebec City ...best show of my life.

  • I wish I could have seen this, but I was only 4 when this happened. Queensryche forever.

  • Saw this in Pittsburgh!!

  • That .... is a damn good song ! Omg ! 20 years later, I still feel like they must have sold their souls to make it so good.

  • dr-x have 4 accounts to dislike this masterpiece.. :)

  • @stijneman7 Were you at Maiden the night after?

  • I saw it in '88 on the actual tour. I was 14 and just in high school, they opened for Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour. My first concert and I will never forget it. Though there have been thousands of shows in the interim-Mindcrime in it's original tour form, resonate eternal

  • @666Lucas666 For me nothing beats Kennedy, but that's just me, I'm a die-hard AB fan ya see :P Still think Tate is ridiculously good though, saw them supporting Judas Priest at Glasgow in July and he didn't miss a beat.

  • @Seventhson95 I was there with my wife flew in from the Netherlands and left right afther they quit playing. . dont care for Priest at al.......

  • @jeremylovesmusic1 You should listen to Alter Bridge, Myles Kennedy has one of the best voices of all time in metal.

  • @Seventhson95 but nothing in comparison to tate... kennedy is amazing though

  • @Budha3899 they did a couple of shows a few years ago playing "OMC" 1&2 back to back... :D

  • God, Geoff Tate has to be one of the greatest singers I have ever heard along side Aaron Lewis of Staind, Layne Staley of Alice In Chains and James Hetfield of Metallica.

  • i remember as a kid (im 19) allways getting the VHS tapes out from the entertainment center and watching this concert that my parents went to when my mom was pregnant with me \,,/

  • yeah guys ...fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was at the concert in Dec of '91 in Spokane, WA. It was the last time they did Operation Mindcrime in it's entirety. It is still the best concert that I have ever been to.

  • Saw it live. Will never forget it :)

  • why have only 68,000 people watched this?!? the world is full of douchebags all.

  • I rememer now.

  • cannot believe this band got underrated so much, this is unbelievable music and they were for sure ahead of their time

  • This is brilliant!. Queensrÿche at the peak of their career. Operation Mindcrime is an incredible concept album, pretty much like "The Wall" or "Tommy". It still send shivers down my spine after 20 years. I love it!!

  • The Livecrime album is one of Queensryche's best live albums. The only thing I didn't like qas the sound of the audience. It just doesn't sound like a real audience.

  • playing a free show this coming friday 5 minutes walking from my house im freaking stoked!!!

  • 4 people never turned away from the eyes of a stanger...

  • this is incredible, to make a show like this 20 years ago.Best live band ever, how lucky are those who watched this live!

  • Best album ever...

  • they can talk new music forever- show me stuff like this and i will stop watching stuff 20 years old- koolest drumkit ever- \m/

  • Awesome, awesome, awesome band everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • maybe the best live ever...and ever...and ever...

  • these guys were hitting on all eight cylinders on this particular video, that was AWESOME !

  • The "thinking man"s metal band

  • I saw it live. I will never forget. :)

  • @betsywaldrop i know the feeling:-)

  • @betsywaldrop Same here. Amazing show.

  • @betsywaldrop Lucky bastard! =D

  • I dunno how underrated scott is but that drumkit definitely is the most underrated in the world!

  • @morenita2g Word.

  • I love how the imagery that shaped this album are still affecting todays society. The 80's where Gaddafi & Saddam where at the top to now where Saddam had fallen and now Gaddafi falling by the day. Who knew huh???

Queensryche did and they have been telling us for a longtime now......

    REVOLUTION!!!!!

  • Two ididts who posted "dislike",,geez you two gotta be real morons not to like the greatest rockers around(STILL)

  • Whoever the two idiots who voted "dislike" you need your f...... head examined! You must be total morons!!!

  • best tune from the album!

  • awesome, scott rockenfeld is one the the great under appreciated drummers of all time

  • @stevehaigh2112 hell yeah he is! he's one of my favorites.

  • The real McCoy.

  • 2 people didn't get the tickets to this concert

  • holy faaacckk!!!!

  • 20+ years later and they are still kick ass. I have been following them for more than some of you have been alive and still love them!!!!

  • give greenpeace a chance \\\o////

  • give greenpeace a chance \\\o////

  • What a climax to an outstanding album and to a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience. THANKS QR, and thanks for posting this!

  • Operation Mindcrime...Hands down; one of the best metal albums of all time!

  • @42sws Definitely in the TOP 10!

  • Such a strong powerful video and the concert is the best !!!!!! What an amazing band and Geoff Tate is my vocal hero!!!!!!

  • I remember when my buddy bought this Live Crime box set we were 15 and it changed our lives.........beautiful times with the whole world laid in front of us!

  • Come to think of it; I still have Operation:Livecrime on VHS! Go figure.

Awesome track from an awesome album. A classic.

  • Wow! people of my generation (I'm 21) really don't understand how phenomenal of a band this is. This is my 3rd favorite band of all time, after The Beatles and Pink Floyd. Mindcrime is definitely my all time favorite concept album, I've been searching for this Dvd for years now and watching these videos of it makes it so much harder to deal with not owning and not being able to see them live in their prime.

  • An absolute masterpiece that remains in heavy rotation for me over twenty years later.

  • I saw this show...still gives me shivers !! amazing !!

  • Great concept album! The 80's were the best, concerts were huge bands were loud and they knew how to play there instruments.

  • got chills from this the screens with the eyes of a stranger was a nice touch

  • Einfach Gänsehaut pur !!!

  • Totally incredible. I wish the 80's were back. You have to admit there are no lyrics today that even come close to this. Lady Gaga, Black Eye Peas, Justin Bieber, etc. - please. "Is this all that's left of my life before me? Straight jacket memories, sedative highs. No happy ending like they've always promised. There's got to be something left - for me ". Are you kidding me? Musicians today wished they could write incredible lyrics like this.

  • @nancymyearrings there are still metal bands around with awesome lyrics! pop rarerly ever had good lyrics anyway :P

  • 17 YEARS AND IVE BEEN STILL LISTENING THESE KNIGHTS OPERATION WILL NEVER END: :D I LOVE YOUU

  • I was third row and center for this show when it came to Atlanta. Absolutely mindblowing. By far, the greatest concept album ever recorded, and just as topical and timely as ever.

  • these were the days.

  • Every time I get shivers down my spine at the end of the video.

  • god damn,they were AMAZING!

  • @blindcynic They still are AMAZING! :)

  • @Mathikins unfortunately they aren't these days. they should have picked a good guitarist instead of Chris. they got all these weird unknown guys that never really fit in. I'm not sure that is the main problem, but something is missing... right after Promised Land they got switched off by an invisible switch.

  • nice esp's !

  • Should be made into a rock opera lol.

  • no rock band can touch this performance.... period. in their prime queensryche were unmatched!!

  • Great song! saw them live at the Arrow Classic Rock festival in Holland!!

  • As my parents have told me,my first word when I was born was Queensryche! This band has always kept such a structural meaning to my heart!

  • REVO LUTION! The BEST concert I've ever seen, hands down.

  • timeless!!!! and the best concert ive seen and ive seen a lot!

  • these two guys loves cannibal corpse or some shit like that.

  • @bezmek1: Doubtful. Most metalheads have an appreciation for older metal.

  • best live show i`ve ever scene!! mindcrime in it`s entirety

  • I LOVE THIS SONG ABOUT MY MOM AND MY MISSION ON EARTH! I WILL SAVE THE WORLD! FOR MY MOTHER AND FATHER!

  • This was the "Empire" tour, not "Mindcrime". They had never played the album in its entirety before. I bought the boxed set back then (got it for Christmas, actually) and was overjoyed when the DVD came out several years ago. The old VHS was really worn out, heh.

  • @xAquinasx, I LOVE the PANAVISION film picture quality on "LIVEcrime". When Queensryche flimed this concert, the film crew used Panavision lenses in their cameras, which give this concert a movie-like look to it. Those were and still are what the film industry use for many movies, especially big budget films.

  • @MrPman851 Wayne Isham did a fantastic job with the filming and editing of this masterpiece. He also did the "Jet City Woman" video. And yes, the movie quality of LIVEcrime really does it justice.

  • @xAquinasx, Wayne Isham to me is one of the greatest video directors of all time. He worked with Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, 98 Degrees, Styx, Motley Crue, etc. I agree that he pulled a rabbit out of his hat with this film.

  • Best live show EVER!

  • There are to morons here...

  • I saw most of the rock/metal bands from mid-80's thru mid-90's........but I'm kicking myself for never seeing these guys.

They are awesome, and I love this album. Ironic, that I ended up on the same Southwest flight from Burbank to Sacramento one day as Geoff Tate, as Queensryche was playing Arco Arena in Sac that night. Nobody on the flight or at the airport recognized him but me.

I told him to have a good show that night. He was nice (wish he would have offered me some tix) :)

  • Ok who are the two fuckers who voted for "dislike"?

  • @The7thsonof7thson they have "mouse" envy...

  • @The7thsonof7thson Make that three...Let's send Dr. X to show them the cure

  • @The7thsonof7thson no-it's 3, probably Rick Astley fans

  • @The7thsonof7thson they should be held down and given Clorox enemas

  • @The7thsonof7thson Armored Saint fans ;)

  • @The7thsonof7thson ...they are "filming" the bottom of Atlantic Ocean....

  • @The7thsonof7thson /the ones who voted dislike on the Queensrhyce video, my guess is someone who made 4 accounts and voted on all of them.

  • @MrStoney2011

My guess those four people are Justing Bieber, Miley Saurus and two other internet losers.

  • @philosopher2king / about the 4 people on the dislike of Queensrhyce ,my empty room......LOL

  • @The7thsonof7thson No doubt, it's that Damn Dr.X and his sniveling henchman, Justin Bieber!

  • Eyes of A Stranger...one of the best metal songs ever!

  • the best concept album!!!!!! EVER!!!!!!!

  • One of the best live bands ever, these guys create timeless music that never goes out of style. Just wish their latest release lived up to the hype they gave it.

  • It always bugged me they removed the sound of the gunshot at 9:11 on the dvd. It sounded really cool on the original vhs

  • so fucking awesome. this album will most likely be with me for the rest of my life.

  • 20+ years later and I still love this album.

    I loved this concert.

  • @GregGirardin

Same here, I don't know how many times I played the whole album over and over again. And I'm still playing it. Saw them live at the Operation: Mindcrime tour. ......best ever.

  • Awesome, amazing, superb...

  • Super piesa...Super trupa....

  • I saw this concert live in 1991. OMG. You're right!, i have never forgotten it. So Awesome.

  • Does Geoff headbutt Chris at 6:09??

  • eso es cantar y no pendejadas

    grande Queensrÿche!!!!!!!!!!

  • geoff has the most amazing voice of all time, absolutly LOVE it!!!!!

  • One of the best rock operas of all time!!

  • even though it was a take from pink floyde in consept mind crimes was a top 10 albume of all times for sure

  • I remember this concert like it was yesterday what a great show it was! Geoff Tate's voice is amazing live that man can belt it out and sound good still. Not like these pop stars that sound good only on CD and suck live...

  • what a show! that's what missing since the mid 90's. Even greater and popular bands can't make a show like this nowadays.

  • Comment removed

  • ... absolutely agree!

  • Good stuff

  • The opening seconds of "Eyes of a Stranger" remind me a lot of Pink Floyd. I wonder if they were fans.

  • your roseary wrapped around your throat

  • no...this isnt best concept album...this is the best album ever....from whole albums of metal

  • The notes and scales these guys inter-twine are outside the box, such a treat to study their music and try and get in their head and imagine combinations of different notes strung together in a manner which you would never have come up.....very enjoyable. Every night practise their, The Very Best of Queensryche, by Hal Leonard publications. I am not associated with them just have spent couple years practicing their music on guitar (great release for me).

  • scott rockenfields drumming is amazing...

  • tate's the best fuckin singer ever. Queensryche will always be a part of my life <3

  • @Flaggius I agree and they'll be a part of my life as with every QR fan, The musicianship of QR as a whole is just mind blowing. Their the gods of stage presence and show just how it should be done. Let's just hope the new generation of metal learns a thing or two from QR.

    Ryche On!

  • gotta love the hospital track in the background, listen today on a TV show, you'll hear em page DR Blair and DR J Hamilton, think Im kidding?

  • They were really touring for Empire, but they did the entire Mindcrime album, saw it in Chicago 91, 5 encores incl Road to Madness

  • What the hell happened to the band? The were once so great!

  • chris degarmo left the band!!

  • Straight jacket memories and sedative highs!!

  • Same here, saw them open for Metallica in Jacksonville, Florida. The opening with Anarchy X was just incredible. I think the audience was louder than Scotts drums!

  • Wasn't it King X that opened for them?

  • @Niemeyer2007

I dont remember anyone else opening up except QR and than Metallica came on.

  • @mickollas You are probably right but I saw many shows in the same venue...some I am now even ashamed to admit. I have to tell you the QR absolutely slayed it!!!!!! The acoustics of the place were pretty loud being the auditorium is a concrete bunker sheel but they, especially, Chris Degarmo hit ervy single freaking note right on. The muscianship of this band with the original members was unparalled except maybe Rush (not the biggest Rush fan...but more than appreciate good muscianship).

  • Nothing takes me back to my past like music. God, I'm 22, again, seeing these guys open up for Metallica in the middle of nowhere in Lubbock, Texas. Never forget this show.

  • Saw them open for Metallica in Weswt Palm Beach, Florida by far the best concert I have seen yet.

  • "everybody needs, but no one wants to see..." Spreading the disease.

    Mindcrime best album ever...

  • 22 YEARS LATER AND I STILL CANNOT ESCAPE THE - "MINDCRIME!" Just Fantastic! What a GREAT VIDEO POST! Very good job!

  • This is so good it gave me the chills

  • woot but-less chaps!

  • Epic End!!!

  • Class act band. How did they open up for Chicken (shit) foot is unimaginable.

  • they dont sound this good anymore live if im not mistaken thats how

  • I saw this live 3 times back in '91. Nothing has ever compared since then to this amazing, amazing show from a completely creative and original band whose music has and probably always will stand the test of time!!

  • Amen to that bro'. I saw this tour when they opened for Metallica on the Justice tour, then saw them do the whole album live on the Empire tour...went and saw the live rock opera-type performance last year which was kickass! Got some wicked pix from that show..Pure class act all the way and will withstand the test of time!

  • I loved them then and love them now and will love them 20 yrs frm now. I'm a 49 yr ole F frm Alabama and creativity and talent does not get much better than this!

  • Now THIS is Queensryche! This band was a total MACHINE during this era and one of the greatest live heavy metal bands ever to take the stage!

GOD do they ever miss Chris DeGarmo.

  • I love how they bridge right into a reprise of Anarchy X in the end. It sound's so brilliant, I prefer the live version over the album cut.

  • yeah it's awesome

you can also hear the ending of anarchy x at the end of a junkie's blues from mindcrime 2 :P

  • Its begins where it ends, and ends where it began, This twisted mind of mindcrime. ryche and roll

  • Yes we need Degarmo back. This band needs to tour again soon. They bought it on themselves! They are just too damn good not to tour. Period!

  • This concert is absolutely superb!

  • 6:25 Until the End is the BEST!!!!!!!

  • @Spanishboy12345

    0:00-9:26

    awsome!!! :p
