@EowynLis Thank you once again Odi -- yeah, the original TW was considered a little too long for radio, so this was what happened after some industry pros kind of re-did it. It's a long story as to why, but I never tried to sell this version. But, what I like about it is the fact that the studio techs -- and some grammy award winners involved with the project -- really pushed me vocally because this version was more challenging to sing at the faster tempo. The difference here was the fact that I was working with real pros (Grammy winners) -- in a top notch studio (Raschall Flatts recorded a few songs from their last album in it) -- and they pushed me vocally not to hold back -- and well, I just let it rip. But during the 60s (the time this song refers to), because of liberal draft deferment policies (primarily college deferments) and tens of thousands of fleeing the US to avoid the draft, there was a disportionate number of draftees categorized as lower middle class or below the poerty line. Many vols. & draftees had some college but below a B grade average & were eligible for the draft. ~30,000 Canadians volunteered & ~100,000 Canadian resident aliens were drafted & many of those had some college. Most of the draftees & vols. were high school graduates. Young men were drafted & volunteered from the richest suburbs etc. I was just making a funny rhyme though. I knew a guy that committed suicide by drinking paint solvents.

Well, I noticed quite a few differences from the original.  First off, let me congratulate you on your acquisition of such talented & well-seasoned backup. And I hope this does well for you, Mike. I noticed more prominent piano than the original, variations in the vocal arrangement, more prominent lead guitar, and more studio backup overall. Although your original version was very good, this was obviously on a much higher & more professional scale. I can definitely see this going places. :)

@iriewaregl - I honestly wish I could help you out Mike, but I really don't have any connections in the country music industry. The best advice I can give you is to pursue it the same way the other unknowns do (no offense intended) : contact various record labels, send them your demo, and FOLLOW UP (very important)! Make your name become familiar to them (hey, I've heard that name before). Many of today's stars were told they wouldn't make it - but they didn't give up! Neither should you.))
