What you're doing is so sweet! The only thing is you might have to find the rat a home instead of releasing him, because wild rats raised by people usually become more like pet rats and can't survive out there (no mom to teach them how)
You are amazing. You have a big heart. Rats are the most friendlyist animals ever. Most people would have lefted him to die. This little guy must be the luckiest baby ever.
what are you using to feed him? looks like a cloth. i ask because my momma rat seems to have abandoned her babies

Hi HannahMichellel We used a string but it is not the best way. We bought a syringe from the drug store (small one)
and a little bit into it's mouth. Good luck. Let us know if you are successful or not.
