  • so true !!!

  • reppin Detroit

  • Is he related to Marcus Miller at all?

  • That's the stuff he did on George Duke's "Reach For It"....everybody thought it was George on the synth....

  • @fanuvbrazil we thought it was stanley clark because clark played on the reach for it album also. plus it dose not sound like a synth it sounds like a bass . he did this back in 1977 when i was in high school everybody wanted to learn that bass solo as a right of passage. along with some of the other classic bass solo's of the 70s Bob babbit- on scorpio 'Willie weeks -on everything is everything stanley clarke-school days' Ralph armstrong Every bad ass bassist in Detroit can play those solo's

  • @blueman2bass: I stand corrected: I always thought it was Stanley Clarke! I'm also from Detroit and been playing bass since 82! Ain't nothing like a funky bass solo!

  • Check stuff out with George Duke,Airto,Flora Purim,Roy Ayers and Raul DeSouza.

  • LOVE the outfits. Haha.

  • luthers bass player when marcus wasnt around

  • Ace, I haven't stumbled across this guy before. Hot licks, I'm stealing the chromatic run at 0:40

  • Owning his 3 solo project cds , and hearing byron play via george duke, roy ayers , luthor vandross (rip) amongst others

he is up there as one if not fave bass players,

    "git wit me"

  • Good stuff. A bluesy approach to soloing from a bass guitar great. Go Byron!!!

  • i am now stealing these riffs. cheers
