@delbertsmeed I converted it from coal to propane. My burner uses three nozzles mainly because I built it from parts of an existing burner originally designed to fire the 1:8 scale Shay. Firing with propane is a lot less work than coal. It is also much safer as there are no ambers flying out of the stack (important during the very dry summer) and in case of trouble, a simple twist of a valves shuts the fire off instantly.
@NSWGRCPH The Maximod is "maxed out" with one adult rider on that layout due to the grade. On the flat it might pull one adult plus one child or maybe two light adults...

Is Alice propane or butane fired? what sort of burner? how does it compare with coal firing? sorry for lots of questions!
