I've always wondered why the transformation sequences took as long as they did. I know it was this way in the anime, but you'd have to wonder what an enemy would do while Sailor Moon was transforming.

And Luna becomes a senshi since budget problems they couldn't show Mini Moon. That girl portraying human Luna wanted to be Mini moon but due to budget problems and the other girls were getting a little tired of their roles, as well. Also, Sailor Luna's outfit was designed by Naoko Takeachi herself =D

@sassyangel0719 All these girls are rather well known in Japan but what set Keiko apart was that she came out in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift so she was then known outside of Japan. The other girls are more into modeling in Japan except for Ayaka who does a lot of tv dramas in Japan.

Venus transformation seemed more fluid and less tacky, the effect they used on her hair bow looked so much better than the one they used on Mercury/Mars chest bows and Jupiter's back bow, also, they choosing not to use the same spinning effect that the others had seemed a good choice, since the others looks rather stumpy when they do so, while the jump is way more fluid, and the appearing effect of the wig was pretty good as well.

See? Sailor Moon pulls it off very nicely. See how close they look to the actual characters after transforming? If the Japanese can make it damn near perfect in a normal children's TV show, why do we westerners fail so hard when we have all the budgets behind feature length films? I'm looking at you, Dragonball Evolution! This proves what I keep seeing about how Bandai just needs to pick up DBZ and shoot it with Super Sentai style directing. It'd still look better than Evolution... T^T (Why...?)

@yzarci They needed to compensate for Chibi Moon. Also, I'm sure they wanted a little girl to whom other little kids could identify themselves with. It's also easier to hide a little girl in your home than an adult woman.

Looking back I think it would've been more realistic ,color-wise, if Sailor Jupiter was orange, and Sailor Venus was yellow.

Green...sure it's a great color, but I have no idea how it reflects Jupiter in any way. If there was a "sailor Uranus" (which perhaps there is) I think green would have been the more appropriate color for her then.

They actually mention in this series that Mokusei (I think that's how it's spelled) is the Japanese for 'Jupiter' as in the planet, which translates to 'planet of trees'. In one episode, Makoto sort of 'listens' to the wind rustling through the trees to find Usagi and the others...not to mention in Roman mythology, Jupiter's sacred tree is the oak. Uranus, on the other hand, is the Roman god of the sky, so having the sort of 'dark blue/goldish' color for Uranus is perfect...at least to me. :)

My favorite transformation is Pluto's I love how she just waves her hand and then she has blue hair out of nowhere. It's cool. But does anyone agree with me that Venus' transformation in the live action version is better than in the anime? In fact all of their live action transformations are better because in the anime, they're way too short, while Sailor Moon get more, better and different transformation sequences, but in the live action, everything is equal.

It doesn't exist anywhere in either anime or manga so whatever you watched on Cartoon Network doesn't apply to Live Action Drama. In this version, as poster had already said, the outer senshi doesn't make any appearance in this Live Action version. Also... Pluto was not one of the pair. The pair that are involved in a relationship is Uranus and Neptune.

Well, this is slightly different from the anime. Dark Mercury and Sailor Luna are both exclusive to this live action sailor moon. They don't have the outer scouts. The one you're mistaking Dark Mercury for is Sailor Neptune (the one you said about the lesbian pairing). Neptune, Uranus, Pluto, and Saturn aren't in the live action.

I remember one episode of the live action where a few of them were running to a fight and they simply called out the beginning of their transformation. As they were running they were instantly in their sailor uniforms, without any scenes of them transforming.

It might have been to save time for that episode since ones after that don't do it. Maybe that's how the enemies view it, because if not, Japan and Japanese speaking enemies of Japan must be a very patient bunch.
