  • YES THE BRITISH WANTED THE WORLD...

    and they should take it.

  • i wish beckett didnt die. he was an evil bastard but he is so awesome!

  • And one more, The English ship has the wind at her back (The Ensign on flapping on the stern proves this). So have can the two pirate ships sail just as fast, going upwind?

  • @AduneStormwind Haha yeah you probably found the rest of the mistakes in this scene. I said it was cool, not done correctly. It would be really boring if it was realistic - and the "bad guys" would have won. :P

  • there's so much wrong with this scene. The English ship was a Ship of the Line. Heavily armed and armored. It would take more then one pass to cause significant damage, let alone sink. Naval battles during those days tended to take hours. Second no way in hell would two ships sandwich one between them for simultaneous volleys, for fear of hitting each other. And third, taking damage that close, no order would have been needed to return fire for the sake of alacrity. No crew would allow suicide.

  • @AduneStormwind You're right, the whole thing is ridiculous. Great scene though.

  • @AduneStormwind

also there firing ridiculously fast with non flintlock cannons, it would take trained gunners atleast one minute to reload i'd think, the debris and falling mast would of caused havoc on the other 2 ships and possibly got them tangled up, and thirdly the explosion of the magazines would of done severe damage to the pearl and dutchman yet they sail off unharmed.

  • @adamlikestoshank

and also the pearls puny 12 pounders and the dutchmans even more puny 6 pounders (according to the wiki) would have a hard time seriously damaging a ship like that especially in one pass.

  • @AduneStormwind

also the main deck of the endevor is much higher than the dutchman or pearl, so how would demolish the upper works like that even if they had super ultra rapidfire cannons

  • why didnt lord becket fight back 0.o why did he just sit there and take it

  • @asianbananacat The reason for that can be explained by watching the previous movies. He is a very calculating man, and the thought that he may be defeated had never even occurred to him. The Flying Dutchman basically broke his brain when it turned toward him and began to fire. It so differed from his idea of what would happen that he could no longer think clearly.

  • Best Trilogy collection besides Lord of the rings even though it was boring in the first half of the film.

  • Death.....LIKE A BAWSS

  • Check out the death of Gus on Breaking Bad

  • @TheNOTchosen1 Yeah that was just disgusting. Cool, but disgusting.

  • The Coolest Movie Death(s) ever.

  • I soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    Agree!!! :D

    Most Epic, awesome! :D

  • This isn't funny... my mom died like that.

  • @Teleisawesome In that case, your mom died one of the coolest deaths possible.

  • It just good business putting 32 billion pounds into banks and more 2:37

  • beckett cutler....sometimes known at cutler beckett

  • And so the Captain goes down with his ship. Good riddance, Cutler Beckett.

  • I though 3 was going to b th last

  • Hey dumbasses, the obvious goof is the Englishmen don't get hit by a single piece of wood, musket shots, nothing. They talk for at least 30 seconds, standing, they should've been hit.

  • How they can do these effects? I get spechles with it!

  • he walked through all that shit and not 1 splinter lol

  • THATS what i called: I.D.I.O.T!

  • That is partially true... grapeshot was actually lead balls much like musket ammunition, so it turned the cannon into a huge shotgun. It was used to clear decks. However, the wood splinters that went flying around as a result of regular cannon balls hitting the ship were almost as deadly as grapeshot. Grapeshot was not a 'last resort,' but a first-shot type weapon.

  • @TehButterflyEffect dont forget canister shot ;)

  • Grapeshot wasn't wood splinters, it was a mixture of any crap they could cobble together and fire at someone if they ran out of real ammunition.

  • Sadly pirates are more of the bad guys Cool death But they should of been ready to vs the pirates with cannons fire and grape shots. They might of had a chance to win or just turn and try and steer away play w w w piratesonline com ! pirates of the carribean online. Dont copy and paste

  • That was a good catch Lotus, but you are correct, it is not an error. The Endeavour was a warship... the two pirate ships were not. The Endeavour would have been armored and very few shots from the smaller pirate guns would have penetrated, and none would have passed over her decks at that angle. It would have taken several passes such as these to sink her. Also, even though whats-his-name never gave the order, his men would have fired regardless. Training won't overpower will to live.

  • @TehButterflyEffect BADASS DEATH

  • A surprise ambush and an inexperienced and somewhat stupid captain. If he had actually given the order to fire the two frigates would be smashed to sinking hulks even if the three decker had gone down as well.

  • Aww, so I guess it could be explained by the guns that hadn't passed yet firing, but still. Oh and by the way, little history here, the Endevour was a three decker ship in the movie. The three deckers were the most dangerous things on the water at the time the only thing that could really defeat them was what happened in the movie.

  • Ok, sorry but you are all wrong, even you butterfly. The most obvious goof is that when he is walking down the stairs and the ship is getting blow to splinters behind him... the damage is going the wrong way. He is walking towards the front of the ship and the two ships are firing forward to back, the splintering behind him is happening back to front.

  • @LotusTrekker An Undead ship is what they couldnt defeat. They coulve at least try to destroy the black pearl

  • I would say the erros ist that the wind direction indicated by the blue flag @ 1:55 is the exact opposite of the direction the 2 other ships are sailing.

  • *smashes head on table*

...and, of course, the pearl and the dutchmen should have hit each other. Some of the cannonballs are even seen passing straight over the deck without facing much resistance on the way to the other ship.

  • @MareTranquil Hahaha you got it! The one about the flag was one I hadn't caught before, but you got the biggest one! :D

  • how the hell did it blow up?

  • @PickleBeaver That actually is not an error... black powder ammunition (while not as dangerous as modern smokeless powder) is highly unstable. If a barrel of powder gets hit by a cannon ball, it will more than likely explode, which would cause the rest of the barrels to explode. This is the reason why the storage hold for the powder was situated in the center of the ship, where it was safest. Mortars (exploding shells -not used in this movie) were also commonly used on the High Seas.

  • @PickleBeaver Black Powerder was propably hit by the cannons. idiot

  • Some of those cannons seem to be rapid firing. I just don't think they can be reloaded that fast!

    Great scene!

  • That is one of the errors, yes... there is another more obvious one though. I wish I could get this uploaded in higher quality, but this is as good as YouTube would let me do it.

  • Great ending! I love that movie
