My Minister was asked today at church was it wrong to give out candy on Halloween on a sunday. MY minster said no, because candy is accepted candy on any other sunday the year. So why difference would it make now.

LOL! Halloween is based on the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saints' Day... nothing about it is demonic. The contemporary costumes are nothing more than people expressing themselves and having fun. This is what I don't understand. Jesus clearly said that there would be those who would claim to be acting in his name but who would be wolves loose in the sheep. Why don't people understand Halloween? It wasn't made as a time to call upon demons, but on the contrary, to scare away demons from "possessed" livestock by wearing scary masks. So really, Halloween is the exact OPPOSITE of "demonology"!
And let's be honest: the only ones responsible for what Halloween is today are the corporations/companies which capitalized on the holiday, much like the Valentine's Day of today.

@kroulkane No it was originally a Norse holiday I believed, it was their New Year and on that day they believed the dead could walk among the living, so they wore sheets and disguises so that the spirits would not recognize who they were and leave them alone. This crazy ass holiday evolved into another crazy ass holiday that evolved into what we call halloween.

LOL! Halloween is based on the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saints' Day... nothing about it is demonic. The contemporary costumes are nothing more than people expressing themselves and having fun. Any religious person who sees halloween as an "Evil" holiday is certainly deserving of a laugh... and a sigh of pity... because it's an excellent (secular) harvest celebration that allows children and adults to enjoy themselves... god forbid we imperfect humans have fun.
