I love Cookie Monster. But cookie, pleeeaase: tell the producers at Sesame Street that making Cookie eat veggies to promote health is just WRONG. It would be better to have one of the Muppets get really, really fat....and then show kids how to burn off the fat. Cookie preaching to kids like this stinks. Jim Henson intended the character to be a commentary on what every parent knows: kids under age 5 love cookies. End of story.

I think you guys are right, it doesn't quite sound like Frank Oz. If you watch some of the older Cookie Monster videos on YouTube, Frank's voice for Cookie Monster sounds more like a "Deeper" Fozzie Bear. I also think Frank's Cookie Monster has more of a "Yoda" tinge to it... which I find is a bigger giveaway.
